Pioneer Park in Loachapoka, AL has many wonderful exhibits and displays. The museum is currently made up of nine structures. It is like stepping back in time and is full of education and history. Syrup Sopping is an annual event held at the park and those that visit can watch how cane syrup was made. The event also hosts entertainment and has arts and crafts for sale. To step back in time and enjoy such rich history brought to life I would recommend this park. Very friendly people.

Interesting as all can be. There is no charge, so make sure you donate. It has to be costly to keep that place up. Oct 7th (23) there will be cane squeezing they expect a lot of people.

Wow! Went here for the "Soppin'" festival and what a great festival! The festival is to celebrate cane syrup, made from sugar cane. There were a lot of historical semo's mashing the cane to get the juice (and with free tastes!). Also other demos like stripping the corn of the cob.and grinding the meal. There are several retired buildings in luding an 1830 log cabin, Drs office/post office, and a barn with old farming tools and equipment (labelled so you know what they are). Also a museum. There were many arts, crafts and food (beef bricuit was out of this world good!). Also medical students from Auburn cam and provided free blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar measurements. They also have a pretty nice small stage live music was performed. Great festival!

Go back in history. The people are so friendly and full of information. Our kids learned so much, as we did. The gumbo and biscuits plus king cake wonderful. Must stop destination.

Everyone there is so welcoming. The Society usually has at least two classes a month. And that, friends, is how I learned how to do hairpin lace!

Museum is very informative for those of us having interest in this area. Many of us can find information about ancestors.
