What a great place, enjoyed every minute of it. The Wisconsin cheese soup and the French onion soup was beyond fantastic. The burgers were fresh, juicy and tasty. Sara, the waitress did not miss a step she went above and beyond what is expected. If you are in the area the place to eat.

One of the only places open on Sunday and it was a great find. Reasonable prices and the food is awesome. No wonder the locals come. The wait staff are welcoming and super knowledgeable about the menu. I opted for one of several Sunday specials and my boyfriend got the rib eye. Not only did we need a carry out we needed to be carried out. The chicken fingers a huge and delicious (appetizer). Truly a gem in IA

If you can only order one thing, make it the breaded tenderloin!! We live 8 hours away but get one every time we are there. Big does not do it justice. You have to experience this to understand. The staff is so kind and friendly. We went two nights in a row and our server from the first night, popped into our section to give a friendly hi! How are you tonight!!

We come here every year, after driving through the Christmas light display in Rand Park. The food is always great & the portions are generous. Everyone should try the Wisconsin cheese soup (if you can tolerate dairy)!

In-cred-i-ble! What a great place to have dinner before a big day in the area the next day. We stayed the night in Keokuk and decided to try dinner here at the Hawkeye. We were not disappointed. I remember when the Hawkeye was in downtown Keokuk in the old hotel, but that probably goes back three decades after I landed in southeast Iowa. The new location on the north side is surrounded by retail and industry, so that's the only real detractor for atmosphere. Let's go back to the important part -- the food. We both ordered filet mignon and it was one of the best cuts with great flavor. The mushroom soup was the best I have ever had -- nice pieces of mushroom. Oh, and the baked beans! We usually don't order something like that with a filet, but something told us to try it. They were delicious. You just can't eat all of this either! Next time, we'll order the 10-ounce filet instead of two 6-ounce filets and share the sides. It would have been more than enough for us. But wait ... there's more! The breadsticks served before your meal absolutely melt in your mouth. We have never experienced anything like this before. The breadsticks are served hot with creamery butter. The breadsticks themselves were a taste experience. Keokuk has it good with the Hawkeye and it's a true local treasure. We live 90 minutes away, but we're going to find a reason to return to delight in this once again. Great job, Hawkeye. We were pleased.

We were greeted upon entry by two very friendly staff (I didn't get their names, both blonde ladies and super nice!) and seated in the bar area, our choice. Our waitress was friendly and on top of things! Loved her, Tori. Food was delicious!! We will definitely stop here again on our travels!

This place is well worth the money to eat here. Great service and atmosphere as well. If you leave hungry it's your fault.

First time visiting and it was great. Great customer service. Good food, friendly environment. Was kind of nervous at first because we didn’t see ppl that looked like ourselves in the whole town. But it was an overall good experience.

My son and I were spending a weekend in Keokuk looking for geodes. We stopped at Hawkeye restaurant for a fine dining experience. The food was fantastic, and the appetizers were huge portions. Sarah assisted us in our meal. She was a fantastic representative of this restaurant. She also gave us some great advice about where to look for geodes. The restaurant was clean, the food was fantastic, and we enjoyed every minute.

We had a family group of 53 for a wake in their private room We had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was comfortable and the service staff was congenial and efficient.
The whole room received our food quickly, it was delicious, and cleared when we were done in the midst of our family
We want to give the facility, the wait staff, the kitchen staff our highest accolades as it was a very busy night at the restaurant and they exceeded all our expectations!!
Thank you so much for all you did for our family,

Always happy to come in. Didn’t realize they closed so early so kept the waitress there half hour longer then we should have she was amazing. Love getting Sarah she’s quick attentive and always aimed to please. We have gotten her many times and hope to get her every time we go in.

What a gem in Eastern Iowa! This was hands down the best food I've had in the region. I do a lot of traveling, and I would tell anyone coming from Chicagoland or who is in any way, shape, or form of foodie, that this place is good! The food was excellently seasoned and I have to say the prices were excellent. Just straight out american fair. Yum!

The restaurant feels like a small town place, with a menu that features mainly comfort food classics.
The staff was friendly, and made us feel welcome. Well worth stopping in, if you are in the area!

Best steak around! Blacked with blue cheese was amazing!!! Everything was cooked to perfection. We got our food in a timely manner, everything was fresh and the service was very friendly. We are here two nights in a row because it was that good while traveling.
I recommend the stake, cheese soup, mashed potatoes, ribs, and bread pudding.
Worth every penny!!!
