Passport Room Bar exceeded my expectations – a hidden gem with unexpected culinary delights.

The late-night speakeasy downstairs adds an extra layer of charm, accommodating a cozy gathering of 20-30 guests.

The cocktails stole the show for me, perfectly complementing the flavorful wings and exceptional veggie flatbread. The L-shaped bar, booths, and high tops create a dynamic layout, and the convertible windows promise a refreshing summer hangout.

Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the numerous TVs, and the jukebox adds to the lively atmosphere. Updated hours from Thursday to Saturday, 6 PM to close, offer themed nights, DJ entertainment, and a kitchen closing at midnight. A must-try for a memorable late-night experience with friends! 🍹

I celebrated NYE there and it was so much fun! All the staff were very welcoming! It was open bar with general admission fee, which was great! The DJ was AMAZING! He played great music the entire night! He really made bringing in the new year fun! I danced the night away! I will definitely go back!

Great local bar with food quality you probably wouldn’t expect. They even have a late night speakeasy with room for 20-30 downstairs too.

Food was great but I really loved the cocktails. You definitely need to try the carajillo. It’s a kind of espresso martini on steroids with a coffee ice cream topping. Mmmm. The sbagliato was great too. Elote could have been a bit spicier though:)

I’m actually exited to try brunch there too. It’s 12-5 at weekends and has lobster benny to keep you happy😋

The place itself has plenty of bar seating in an L shape and has both booths and high tops in the middle. Also the window clearly rolls down so it’s gonna be a great summer hangout too, but nice ambience. It’s got quite a few TVs for sports too if you need that kind of thing and has a great jukebox and also our favourite - a Photo Booth - downstairs by the speakeasy.

Give it a try. A great addition to the neighbourhood. Also right next to the 65 bus or a few minutes walk from Ashland green line stop.

We showed up two weeks after soft opening, two weeks before full open. Bear that in mind.

The menu is great. I mean, take a look to make sure you like something on it. But if you see something that looks good, you're wrong, it's great.

I'm not trying to oversell. It's not exquisite. It's not "high cuisine". It's pub food. Really f'n good pub food.

Extra disclosure, we've known the manager for a bit. He used to run one of the most historic Irish pubs in Chicago. He knows drinks. His friend the chef knows food. A great combination.

We started with cheese curds. They were so good that I didn't want to spoil them with condiments. So I didn't. The yogurt based ranch whip topic is a required part of the experience.

The patats bravas are not just fried potatoes. One of the chef's favorite snacks are so much more... just more... even before you add the sauce and aoli. Soooo tasty.

I had a lobster roll. It wasn't the most substantial lobster roll I've had. But it had the largest chunks of real lobster, and it was delicious.

Speaking of substantial, my friend ordered the burger and it came with much thicker bacon than most places. Not Au Cheval thick, but awesome. He really missed out giving away his bacon. Yeah yeah.

There are three spaces here: the main floor, speakeasy basement and four seasons patio (soon to be opened). Each with a different vibe. All top quality.

"Damn there are a lot of people here tonight after only being open two weeks," said a random patron.

I love Vig or Bih! She was great and she should be a manager. She kept it so calm and collected, so mature. Please give her a raise and make her manager, she is indeed manager material. I will Be coming back because of her. In no way she made any one’s life complicated, she was accommodating to everyone. That’s the kind of service I look for whenever I go to a new bar or restaurant.

Wonderful service, food, and cocktails. The Patatas Bravas and Smash burger were fantastic. Can't wait to check out the speakeasy and patio.

Loved this place! The atmosphere, food and most of the drinks were great. The bartender Chris is a master mixologist and it shows in his drinks. I followed him from his previous bar- after it closed down. He gave us a welcoming tour of the place. I can not wait to try the speakeasy downstairs-it looks like it will ready any day now. In the warmer weather they will have an outside patio.
I highly recommend the lobster roll and the pambazo. I love their concept of pairing food and drinks from different countries-I can’t wait to try more items next time. Overall a great place to hangout, chill or go out on a date.

This is an A+ spot to watch the USWNT World Cup games. Super attentive and friendly staff, lots of screens on all sides of the bar, and equally important, game sound was on and LOUD! I hate bars that advertise they'll have a women's sports game on but then don't put on the sound or only have it on kinda low like they're doing you a favor.
Food was good overall. Lobster roll, hot dog, and burger got excellent reviews. Mozarella sticks were meh. Giant pretzel and fries were good. Cocktails were delicious. No non-alcoholic beer options, which is unfortunate. Mocktails are available. Easy and free parking options on Grand.
As a women's sports fan who constantly has to hunt down and fight to see women's sports events in bars, I was very appreciative of the quality watch experience provided by Passport for the USA-NED game!

What a surprise! I was expecting typical bar food and found outstanding gastro delights. Though it took a while to get our food, it was very worth the wait. The wait staff and owners really care about your experience. Don't forget to check out their speakeasy!

Awesome new bar with great music, delicious food and a really friendly staff! Love this new gem in the neighborhood! We found it looking for the Plant/Benavidez fight and so glad we did! We’ll definitely be back!!

My friends and I had a great time during our stop at Passport Bar Room. The music on Friday nights is excellent and the DJs in the main bar and the basement speakeasy do a great job of keeping the crowd entertained. The place manages to keep a sports bar vibe with just a touch of a night club scene. A nice and casual place to grab some drinks, listen to good music, and catch a game on tv. I'll definitely be back.

Kind of a soft open today. DJ music finally superceded by world cup audio on request of the masses. Awesome service and good food options if a bit limited menu. If I understand, only open thu to sun from 11 am. Good people and good place.

Drinks are goooooooooooood. Pambazo (traditional Mexican sandwhich cooked in a chili powder was FIIIIIRE.) I wish much luck to this new establishment and they have a dope chef , Marisa T who has Michelin star experience

Some of the most interesting small plates you'll find at a sports bar. Friendly staff and great food/drinks! Will definitely be coming back.
