District Camera is a brick and mortar store in Burke, VA and my buying experiences with them have always been positive. They have a wide variety of stock, a helpful and experienced staff and they even buy and sell used equipment. They're always my first stop (and mostly my only stop) when purchasing camera equipment. They will also match online prices and I highly recommend them. It's also important to support our local merchants. If you haven't been to their store, give them a try.

I recently bought the Sony A6700 with several lenses including a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, Sigma 56mm f/1.4, and a Sony 70-200 f/4 II macro. Below are pics I took with this camera. It is amazingly small and light, has incredible image quality, state of the art focussing (notice cat's eyes sharpness below), and doesn't break the bank.

I've had had my rolls of film developed and scanned by them. They scanned my half frames individually without having to request it! I love their services, and they have affordable films and cameras too! Their staff is accommodating and scanning of film take 2 -3 days only! Will definitely come back to get my film developed and scanned!

Truly appreciate the security of having both these items for different reasons. Always afraid I will crack my screen and this protector is sure to help prevent that from happening. Added bonus was to have Alan assist me in applying the screen protector. I could have never done it as stress free and easy like he did. He also recommended the CFe B card for me. Great choice for the price and reliability.

I can jot express how much I appreciate District Camera for all of their expertise and support.

I have gone here many times now over the past 2 years or so to develop my film. The staff are reliable and knowledgeable (especially helpful for a novice/hobby photographer such as myself!) and typically I can expect to get my negatives back within 3 business days. It's the only place I will go!

Update District Camera refunded my money and stood by their promise.

I was disappointed with my purchase of a Nikon F3, I was with the understanding that camera was in excellent condition. The back was in really rough condition. Somebody name was inscribed on the back with lots scrapes. the button on the exposure comp is not locking.i did not see the photos of the back before selling the camera. Overall a good camera and lens just wish you would have most of the photo of the back

The gents and District Camera were fantastic, walking me through numerous options. They are passionate about photography and I honestly felt that they tried to steer me towards the best gear for me, not the most expensive. I look forward to continuing to do business with them.

Review is for the DC store from a hobbyist photographer's perspective. Excellent business with a knowledgeable, kind and courteous team. They've earned my trust and repeat business, as I always feel valued and respected as a customer. With each visit, I come away with not only excellent new/used camera gear, but also valuable tips and advice. In the rare occasion that something's wrong, like a battery or lens not working right, they have been great about taking time to troubleshoot it with me or exchange it with no hassle. I would urge DC area photographers to give them your business. You'll be well taken care of, and feel great knowing you're supporting an honest small business.

I spent several hours over the past couple of weeks working with Ken on a transaction. Learned a lot. Even though it's a "where do I begin" subject, Ken worked with me patiently with expert communication - in store, over the phone, email - absolutely excellent experience all around. Big thanks to Ken. Great resource right in the middle of the city for gear and service. The place is hopping with many customers being helped by solid staff all day. Extremely professional. Thank you District Camera and Imaging!

I came into the store to get some help on replacing my film properly and getting the film developed. The employees in the store were friendly and welcoming. They walked me through the entire process of removing the film and properly inserting the new roll with care. I will definitely come here for all my photo or film needs!!

Fast friendly service. Prices for used gear is typically in line with, or better than, online retailers and eBay which is great since free shipping is getting harder to come by these days. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and helpful. Worst part of the store for me is finding parking.

I cannot describe how much I love this store. They definitely put their customer service above all else, and it does not go unnoticed.

I went in with what I thought was going to be an expensive recalibration project for my camera and lenses, and after checking all of them, I was VERY kindly told that there was no charge, because there was no problem with the equipment. (Yes, the problem was with the 56 year old eyes. The ones that have been working behind these cameras professionally for 30 years. Apparently THEY needed to be recalibrated.)

And when I needed to replace some equipment and wanted to take advantage of a sale I had seen, I emailed them to let them know I wanted the camera and lenses and wanted to make sure they were in stock, they said, yes, we will have them, and actually there is this OTHER deal that will get you another couple hundred dollars off, AND we include this extra item at no extra charge, because it's a better quality than what comes with it. NICE!

They spend all the time you need answering questions, talking about what is going on in the industry that is going to affect your business decisions 5 years down the road (hence my purchase of the new equipment!) and are just really really nice.

As someone who has worked professionally in the industry for a VERY long time, I really appreciate that. Yes, you can buy it online and save a dollar or two, but it won't be much (their prices are great), and in the long run, they will save you money because they help you make the right decision about expensive choices.

I'm so glad they opened a local store in Arlington - I have missed having one ever since Falls Camera closed. I will do my research online, but now I will only buy there.

Thanks, District Camera! You guys rock!

I came to District Camera a few weeks ago to have an old 8x10 portrait of my father enhanced and enlarged, so we could display at his funeral. The circumstance required an aggressive turnaround time. I could not have been more pleased with the work that Larry did on the photo. He struck a delicate balance between preserving the detail and authenticity of the original photo, while simultaneously enhancing its quality for enlargement. The funeral photo was double the size of the original print. I am so glad I came to District Camera for this very sensitive project. I could tell from the moment I walked into the shop that it was a family business. The staff is kind and there is a personal level of service that you don't often find in a large city like DC.

Magnificent portrait lens - incredibly sharp on the Z8 and produces beautiful bokeh in out-of-focus elements. Incredibly thin depth of field at f/1.2 will take some getting use to. So far, the Z8 reliably nails focus on the eyes of my subjects.

My experiences with this business, at any location but usually Burke, are always positive. The staff are knowledgeable and professional, and always a pleasure to deal with, whether I'm buying new or used items or trading stuff in. I've been a customer for several years now and have no need to deal with anyone else.. It's great to know businesses like this exist.

Website was accurate and the store had the equipment I was looking for. I am enjoying the Sony a6700. The autofocus is very responsive for my BIF which was the main reason for the purchase. All other photos appear pretty crisp.

I love this store, and all of the representatives who work here are extremely friendly and helpful. I went on a long trip abroad and knew immediately when I got home I would be bringing my film here to be developed. I started chatting with Ken who is the rep that has helped me many times and I ended up buying a lens. I've been wanting for a long time with some leftover money I had from the trip. Ken was really patient as he walked me through some other options as well and I ended up having questions about the lens that I needed help with. The next day and he was there bright and early at 9 AM to help me. I'm in love with my new ones and I can't wait to get my photos developed again the store rocks!

Absolutely great experience with a “day of event” need for a backup camera body. The store was helpful lining up the rental and stayed open a few extra mins after closing while I worked my way through traffic. Now that I know they exist I will 100% use them again!

I went in with the intention of only getting upgrade suggestions for a 13yo camera. Turns out when you have incredibly friendly staff helping you, all of whom had knowledge between them to answer all of your questions and then some, it makes for a really convincing reason to buy a camera. It helps that it was a model they had used themselves, and one that was highly recommended as an upgrade on a budget. Understanding the budget part was the real clinch.

So anyway, I walked out with a used camera and I've been making great use of it since then. If I could give them more stars, I would.
