Tyler Elementary School

My son has attended this school since 2nd grade!!! He is now in the 5th grade!! The staff is amazing!!! I love the way they greet him, they make him feel like a super star! We will both miss this school, it's his final year!

If your child has special needs do not go to this school. The last 2 years they have not retained any of the highly effective teachers and hire the most incompetent paraprofessionals. One was even under investigation for hitting kids and she was placed back in that class to 'sub' even while such an investigation was going on.
They do not care about kids, staff, or parents unless you have money, you're super pushy, and in Dual Language. Principal Brunson is the most unprofessional person and did not care whether my child stayed or left the CES program there. Do not be fooled by his seemingly personable manner. As soon as you have an issue that has to be brought to him and not the LEA rep (who is also incompetent) he will become defensive. Likely because he doesn't know the first thing about what it takes to run a successful classroom.
Also if you are thinking of working at Tyler, don't. There is drama and stress from the adults in the building everyday. I know this just from simple observation of how they treated the great teachers in the class this year. Who are leaving because like I said they can't keep anyone who is actually highly effective.
