Got a haircut from Keiko today. She did a fantastic job! Ozuki is my only go to salon in DC for Japanese/Asian haircut. Highly recommend, with great service and polite staff!

I have long soft curls/wavy hair and received a stellar cut from MK. I am very picky with my haircut and usually travel to NYC to my longtime stylist for my haircut. But traveling to NYC is not always possible. I've had haircuts with other DC stylists that have been okay, but never found someone excellent until now. As soon I saw how the scissors expertly fluttered through MK's fingers I could tell she was truly skilled at her craft. I asked her to create some pretty layers around my face and take the weight off my hair, and was overjoyed with the quality cut I received. MK also has a nice, warm energy that made me feel comfortable and at ease while in her chair. She also cuts my mother's hair, who has a completely different hair type (baby fine, straight hair) and does an excellent job with her as well. I will definitely be returning to MK.

Got my hair cut with MK over the weekend and it was 100% worth the price. The level of experience and attention to detail was unlike any other barber shop or salon I had been to before. Highly recommend you give Ozuki Salon a visit!

Got a haircut by Shu 1.5 weeks ago and I like the way he layered my long hair,...blends really well with the rest of my hair. I only go to stylists trained from Japan, ever since I discovered how excellent they cut hair. I'd let Shu cut my hair again. My only slight disappointment is this salon does not massage your hair when they wash, like another Japanese salon I've been to in North America do.

I went for the scalp treatment with Lily and it was just phenomenal. I've not had a scalp treatment before, but this will not be my last at Ozuki. I drove about an hour from Baltimore and it was 100% worth it. Lily was a gem and explained what each step of the process was achieving, and she definitely made sure to address my specific hair and scalp concerns. My hair has been so glossy and soft and refreshed since going. Lily gave me some advice for continuing with better upkeep for my bleached hair at home, too, which I appreciate.

The atmosphere of the salon is lovely. I came on a Saturday morning and it felt very much like a small, community space. I felt welcome from the moment I approached the building, and it was great to see so many people come through who were clearly regulars. I think that speaks very highly of the salon on its own. Every staff member was a delight to interact with. I am definitely looking forward to scheduling my next visit!!

Good Asian salon is hard to find, and I will always go back to Ozuki for my hair needs. Overall, I look forward to my hair appointments there. The ambience is calm and relaxing. Liz at the front desk is always very polite and nice. The staff members there are all very friendly. The hair wash feels relaxing and comfortable. The stylists themselves are very talented, dedicated and diligent. My first appointment was a 5-hour perm and I watched the stylists work, their interactions with other customers, and the customers’ reactions. In summary, this is a relaxing place in which I enjoy spending time. Individually, my stylist is Tony, and I will always go to Tony. Some reviews painted a not-so-nice image of him, and I strongly disagree with these reviews. Tony has 20+ years of experience in the industry. Not only does he possess the talent and skill in his craft, but he also possesses very sharp eyes to discern what styles work best for my face shape, and very fine taste in styling. I went in thinking I wanted to have certain haircuts, but he knew better. He is not a robotic hairdresser cutting your hair out of a textbook. He assesses each client’s hair texture, color and face shape to determine the best look. And he is very honest and straightforward about his assessment. To some people, it might seem bold and unfriendly. But my personal experience has over and over proven that as a professional, he really knows the best, and I encourage others to trust his judgement. (Once I watched a young man very nervous and skeptical about the curls Tony was making. But when the final look presented itself, the young man was in awe and kept saying that Tony indeed knew the best.) On top of his very meticulous trimming and making sure each detail is perfect, he is also a very helpful stylist. He went through lengthy sessions to teach me about my hair, demonstrate to me how to blow dry, and instruct me dos and don’ts to better take care of my hair. In addition, he strives to make everything layman friendly and easy so that everyone can keep up simple but useful maintenance of their hair. Service aside, I enjoy chatting with Tony. Our shared languages make it more enjoyable, and I often look forward to my appointments with him. I also observe that other stylists hold very friendly chats with their customers as well. So, I’d like to think it is a culture there that the customers and the stylists form genuinely good connections. I never bother to write any Google reviews but this one is a must. Definitely 5 stars.

I think I’ve found my go to salon! After years of living in the US, I have struggled to find a place that can do my fine hair justice until today. Shu did my hair and would absolutely go back to him. Very calm and relaxed guy so it was easy to be around him. He also studied my hair first before applying any hair treatments to make sure I get the most out of it. Also lily? (the one who shampooed my hair) was very sweet and made me feel well taken care of. Highly recommended!

I got a scalp treatment from Elizabeth. It was my first time and she walked me through everything. I loved talking to her and my hair feels so relieved and healthy. She’s an expert! The front desk is also friendly and accommodating. The overall salon is clean and well decorated.

I only go to have my hair cut and colored at Ozuki Salon while I am living in DC. Tony is always listening to what I want and gives the best recommendations. He took time to cut my hair and never rushed to have it done even when next customer was waiting.

I really like this place. Mr. Shu cuts my hair. He carefully examines and analyzes your hair before working on it to decide on the optimal method/hairstyle. Most technical stylist I have ever encountered.

Went to Ozuki for the first time this weekend. I had a really great experience! I went for a haircut and got to meet Eliza and Keiko. They were both very sweet. I loved how Eliza washed and brushed my hair. Sometimes they can be a bit rough but Eliza was very gentle and made sure the water was a good temperature. Keiko gave me some advice on how to achieve my hair goals and I loved the haircut she gave me. I’m in love with it! Thank you Keiko! Can’t say enough good things. They earned a loyal customer!

So I'm a long time customer at Ozuki and I absolutely love them. Have been going ever since 2007 and my mom and sister are regulars too. I always go to Keiko and over the years my cuts and styles range from short, long, curly, wavy, highlights, and full color. She can do it all and is amazing especially with a perm!

I recently got a cut and color from their newest edition Grace and it was lovely! I told her what I wanted, she saw that I had split ends, the bottom half of my hair was blondish and my top half black from my natural roots and she ended up confidently dying my hair a chestnut brown. All I told her was I wanted to make the colors communicate better and look more natural! She also lightened the weight of my hair as I have thick Asian hair and it gets full quick. Shes a great addition with lots of experience and cant wait to see yet another stylist flourish at Ozuki.

Honestly I've never had a negative experience here. Liz is amazing with managing appointments and everything in between, Lily and the other ladies who manage the shampooing and support are lovely as well. Only thing I would say is factor in about 10-15min to find parking especially if your appointment is during rush hour hours. There are garages nearby in the worst case scenario.
In terms of price they are great IMO. Other high end salons in the area are much more. Give it a try its just hair!

I discovered this place through a friend. I had been perfectly happy with my stylist before, but after my first cut here there was no turning back. I hadn't realized how much of a difference it made to have someone who has a similar hair type cut your hair. I loved my former stylist, but this place has upped my hair game.

I have been a loyal customer of Ozuki for the last 9 years. I am writing this review because I realize that, all too often, satisfied customers don't speak up on these kinds of sites.

I do not have the thick, dark hair of the typical Ozuki customer base and was initially not sure that this was the right salon for me. I have very fine, light brown hair that I keep at a medium length and highlighted. I am so glad that I did give the salon a chance because, now, I'm not sure what I would do without them.

Shijemi is my stylist. I can't say enough about her skill. She does a beautiful precision cut and knock-out highlights every time I come in. Over the years, I have enjoyed getting to know her better and consider her a friend. I appreciate her professionalism. Sometimes I just want to read quietly and sometimes I feel like chatting. She always makes me feel comfortable, either way.

By the way, she also cuts my husband's thick, wavy hair and does a great job every time.

On one of my first visits, I was unhappy with the results. I had dyed my own hair with a do-it-yourself product a few days before the visit. I didn't mention this to Shijemi and when she did my highlights, they just didn't look very noticeable. I called the salon the next day and told them that I needed them to improve the way the highlights looked. They booked me immediately and fixed the highlights to my satisfaction at no charge. I have not missed my standing appointment every six weeks ever since.

To give you an idea of how loyal I am to Ozuki...I now have to drive about an hour there and back to get to my appointment. When I first started going, it was only about a 15 minute drive. When I moved farther away, there was no question that I would go anywhere else. This salon is worth the extra effort. I love how I look every time Shijemi does my hair and I appreciate the serenity of the environment and professionalism of everyone who works there.

I can't recommend Ozuki highly enough.

I loved the result a lot! Though the price was a little expensive, it was totally worth it.
I hadn’t gone to a hair salon for a half year and my hair was frizzy and basically out of control.
I thought I needed to get a Japanese straight perm to get a normal hair. However, Keiko-san told me how to take care of my hair properly, and made my hair alive again!
Now, without Japanese straight perm, my hair looks just great! I didn’t know that my hair could get this well! Thank you so much!

I have received nothing but beautiful hair cuts by Shu, one of Ozuki Salon's talented stylists. Highly recommend! Shu textures my hair, removing some of the weight so it is light and full. My hair has shape and movement, which it should, of course, but I have walked out of too many salons with too many layers resulting in unevenness and flyaways that demand frequent upkeep. Never unhappy with haircuts by Shu though. I make the trip into Georgetown from VA. Maybe it is because he has grown to understand what is to my liking after repeat visits, but the care with every cut of the scissor is amazing. Visit Shu at Ozuki a few times and see if it works for you!

One of the few times I’ve had a great haircut for naturally straight hair. Shu Yamashita was a great stylist and would highly recommend him!
