Brandon's Pub & Grille

I've driven by Brandon's Pub & Grille many times on the way to other places (used to go to Cool Beanz at the top of 30th Street all the time). A recent perusal of their page revealed some good looking photos of burgers and sandwiches. In a continual effort to get out more, I opted to stop by for lunch on this particular lazy Saturday.

The interior of Brandon's tells a story of a place around Augustana College that has been around for a while, just not the entire time as Brandon's. The floors are made of that red ceramic 4 to 5-inch square tile that used to be far more common a few decades ago. All of the tables, both high top and standard, appear relatively new, as does the bar area itself. The overhead is covered in a white 2 foot square drop ceiling with recessed lighting fixtures dotted throughout. There are plenty of flat screen TVs playing a variety of different sporting events throughout the bar area with the volume from one of them playing quietly. It's all very relaxing and was perfect for the Saturday I was trying to have!

Though the burgers looked good in the photos I'd previously viewed, I opted for the traditional beef Philly cheesesteak with fries. My food was out to me within 10-15 minutes of placing my order and I soon tucked in. The cheesesteak was one of the better ones I've had in the Quad Cities. The steak was sliced thin and well grilled, the onions and peppers were seasoned properly and sufficiently rendered while still having texture, and there wasn't an overabundance of cheese on the sandwich. The fries were also great - crinkle cuts that were sufficiently cooked to have a crunchy exterior and fluffy interior, plus well seasoned. All in all a great meal!

This place has one of the same features that many Illinois bars and restaurants share - the ubiquitous set of video slots. I can't really complain that much (they're practically everywhere) but the four or five in Brandon's Pub are right on display in the bar area with only a few stanchions separating them from the rest of the seating. It would be nice if there were a little more separation of the video slots from the rest of the establishment.

On the whole, I really enjoyed the sandwich and fries I had at Brandon's. The ambiance is similarly great - the noise level was low, owing to both the drop ceiling and the low volume at which the TV volume was played. I can envision coming here for lunch again in the future. Thanks, Brandon's!

The food was really good. We loved the bread with the spinach dip. Service was remarkable too! I will definitely go back next time I'm in the Quad Cities

First time eating here. The Reuben is in my top 2. Absolutely fantastic! I also ordered a margarita which was perfectly made, not too strong and not too weak. Staff was inviting and friendly and the service was quick. My husband ordered the tenderloin and liked it as well. We will definitely be back.

I don’t have much to say besides …GET THE WINGS. These have to be the best wings I have had in such a long time. The loaded fries were awesome too. We’ve been a couple times and I can’t wait to go back!

The fried pickle app was light and perfectly cooked. I had the Jambalaya and would have to say it’s the best Jambalaya in a 100 mile radius. The portion is HUGE. The ingredients are of the highest quality. The grilled 3 cheese and tomato sandwich SOOO much cheese. We’ll be back soon to try other menu items

The waitress was the best!! Some of the best chicken strip!! We had the pretzel for appetizers it was huge and delicious!!

Our son goes to Augustana College nearby and we’ve passed by this place several times without giving it much thought. We finally stopped in this weekend and it was well worth it. Very nice inside. Great sports bar with plenty of TVs to watch games. Nice drink specials and friendly people to serve you. Only downside to our visit this time was they were short-staffed for the kitchen so our food took longer to be served. That’s understandable, but the food was still very good. I’d definitely recommend checking this sports bar out. Enjoy!

Great spot to hang out at plenty of parking the viking burger and the big Ole pretzel is a must! The wife and I found our new favorite place

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and was easily able to seat my party of 6 which needed wheelchair accessible seating. The portion sizes were very good, and everybody enjoyed their food.

Came for lunch, and the food was amazing! Service was great and the place was packed. Our Waitress just floated thru the restaurant and took care of everyone.

Went to Brandon’s around 1:30 and the placed was packed… One waitress handled several large groups that seemed to be from the local college. She did it with a smile the entire time and remained cool and calm while handling the room by herself and keeping everyone informed on wait times. Food was great and the waitress was a rockstar!

The food never fails to amaze my tummy 🤤 The chicken tenders were battered and fried fresh to order so they were hot and juicy to perfection. They also have a challenge called the Vikings challenge you should check out! Hope your appetite is big enough to complete in 35mins or pay for the colossal meal at around $39 😲 I was told only one person has defeated this challenge so far...

Monday Night Pub Trivia Champs! What a fun bar. Tried the Chicken Bourbon Panini and fries and it was tasty. Crinkle Cut Seasoned fries were on point for a perfect bar evening! College bar but welcoming to us “older folks”. :-)

Attended a grad party here and the food was great, as well as the service! Great spot to go hang out in, great vibes!

I went with a few friends on Wednesday and they have wings discounted on that day so I had to try them. Their signature sauce for their wings is fantastic and the fries were great too. Environment was clean and nice to look at. Overall, an extremely satisfactory experience and I will definitely be going again!

We bought a Quad Cities Dining Tour coupon book to try out new places. Went to Brandon's today... and OMG it was sooo good! My husband had the jambalaya and I had the Italian Beef. Both were very tasty! We'll be going back again! Love to find new delicious places to dine! A+++

Tuesday lunch special $2 off Paninni. Got the Club and it was Amazing! Was also huge! Definitely coming back. Southwest Egg rolls and their sweet chili sauce was equally awesome!

I didn't get to eat at the establishment, but they are closed on Tuesday. Not their fault that Google states they are open Tuesday. Hopefully, Google will fix this.

Brandon's pub & grille is the best hangout spot in rock island. Their food is outstanding and the service is the best I have ever received. The 12" pretzel is AMAZING! Everyone should give this place a try! I will most definitely be returning!
