Bix Beiderbecke Museum and Archives

Excellent museum highlighting Davenport’s legendary jazz artist Bix Beiderbecke. Many interesting artifacts from the jazz era on display. A great stop for Bix, jazz, music, or history fans alike — Bix Lives!

If you are a musician or just someone who loves history and jazz, this little museum is a perfect stop. I was able to go through the entire thing within an hour and, even though I have a bachelor's degree in music, I still learned a lot.

Free museum, although I did leave a donation because it's really a hidden gem. Absolutely recommend calling ahead to make sure someone is there, but otherwise great little bit of history to check out.

Came here with my wife while visiting Davenport and spent a nice afternoon learning about all the ways Bix was intertwined and influential in the early jazz scene. The artifacts in the museum are well maintained and very interesting. I would say this is a great stop for anybody, not just those interested in jazz music or Bix himself.

Came up for the Bix Lives Jazz festival and enjoyed the museum immensely. Great presentation of Bix’s life and a view into Davenport of the early 1900’s. Recommended!

Outstanding music one of the best if you care about jazz. The staff is exceptional and very knowledgeable about the life of Bix. A must see if in Davenport
