V & S Variety Store

Nice to have a variety store in our small town.

I've been shopping here every summer for about 8 years and realize they don't have any detailed reviews. Why 5 stars?

Convenience, staff friendliness, and the selection is pretty good for the size of the store. You can find toys/balls, board games, common medicine/toiletries, tools/hardware, camping gear, office supplies, kitchen gadgets, cleaning supplies, and more. Even locals shop here which is always a good sign to me.

It is more expensive, but not outrageously so. It's what I would expect from a somewhat remote locally operated general store with higher operating costs. That cost has saved me a ~2 hour/80 mile round-trip to Ellsworth multiple times.

They have everything you need and are super friendly

It's a handy place to pick up items that would otherwise require an off island trip
The staff is helpful and friendly

They got it and if they don't they'll order it for you. Great customer service, always very helpful.

Only place I could find a sweatshirt with Deer Isle on it and a nice one at that.
