I am a member & the staff here are wonderful to work with. I highly recommend looking at their 4th floor if you need to rent a space for a meeting or an event, like a bridal or baby shower. They also have beautiful ornaments from Germany on sale. Their events, like the walking tours, are fun & very informative.

It was great getting to visit here and learn more about my heritage. No clue how much German history there was right here in Davenport. Christa was also so generous in showing me around and telling me about all the exhibits. Definitely will come back every time I visit Davenport.

We really enjoyed our visit to the German American Heritage Museum. The exhibits were fantastic, and had so much interesting information on the German experience in America. We learned things we never even knew before. The gift shop is excellent too!

A very cool comprehensive museum on the German-American experience with a focus on the quad cities area of Iowa and Illinois. Great view of the millennium bridge from the top floor and many interactive displays to experience

What a gem! We had a 15 year old visitor from Germany who we thought might enjoy seeing this place, and it turned out all of us loved it, including my 11 year old and 13 year old. I will be back to spend more time reading the displays. Nicely done small museum!

Very organized, great history, and fun exhibits. They had a Volkswagen car show the day I went and ticket admission was free.

Lovely little museum. Never knew Germans were so influential in forming this great country of ours. So proud to be German.

We found the visit very informative with information on the area that is now Germany all the way back to the Roman Empire. It covers the evolution of the country and reasons for emigration to the USA. Then covers individual immigrant stories in both written and audio visual formats. Also covers stories on immigrant life in the USA into the 1900’s. We spent about two hours there, learned a lot.

Took my 10 yr old grandson. The museum is very well done, small but alot of interactive displays. Lots of reading informaton but plenty Of interaction to keep my grandson happy. We were there about an hour and a half, would have been there longer if I was alone.

Very nice interpretation of the story of German immigrants coming north and west from New Orleans.
I'm Volga Deutsch, so I appreciated seeing the rest of the immigration story.
State of the art displays. Friendly staff.
Great stories to be told.

I've driven by there several times but had never stopped in to see it. I visited my daughter off campus at Augustana College and we decided to finally visit it since I'm half German. Enjoyed the history of German migration as well as German contributions to society. The original settlement in New Ulm, MN was highlighted and I've actually been there for a festival. Normally, adult admission to the museum is $5 but due to a special museum event in Iowa over Father's Day weekend, the admission was free.

Awsome museum. My parents were both German and I thought that I knew a lot about the German immigration to America, but I learned much more at the museum. Highly recommended, if your read everything you will be here two hours. Can't believe that admission is only $5.

Good gift shop. Friendly staff. Museum is small, but that's not unreasonable for the 5 dollar entry.

We had low expectations for this small (by museum standards), relatively unheralded attraction. But we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and depth of the exhibits. We easily spent two hours there and could have been there longer if we didn't have other obligations. We had no idea of the rich German heritage of Iowa and this was a great way to experience it.
