I have been with J L Schwartz Agency for over thirty years. I have referred many friends/family over the 30 years, but unfortunately, I no longer do so. Many of those Ive referred have either never had the level of service I described, or the quality of their interactions with J L Schwartz staff has deteriorated significantly since they first went with your agency.

The staff seems bothered...irritated by their customers. Not the eager, professional and thorough representatives they used to be.
The appreciation and respect for customers just isn't there anymore...if it is, it certainly doesn't show. Most customers don't contact their agents that often so if on every one of those few interactions, they are treated badly.....?

Given the current competition in the industry and pending changes in Michigan's laws this summer, I would think customer retention would be priority one..like it used to be. I only hope J L Schwartz makes quick and sweeping changes in how their customers are valued, or aren't, by every one of the J L Schwartz staff members.
I never would have imagined, I would be out shopping for a different broker/underwriter for my insurance needs, but I'm sure there are companies that would actually value my business and treat me accordingly.

In February and March I made an effort to get quotes from different agency's for auto and home owner's insurance. I drove to Schwartz Insurance and found their office closed to the public because of COVID. I was looking for an agency locally, since I moved from Oregon to Michigan three years ago, I was frustrated and done with having to try and get answers from the agency I was assigned upon moving, somewhere in California. It was always the robot calls, I wanted to talk to a person about questions I had and would find myself in the automated call loops. Long story short, it took them eight days to respond to my online request. It resulted in no quote and that they couldn't do better than what I had with Safeco - which was puzzling, because I never shared my premiums with them. My husband and I have clean driving records, so we were puzzled that we got no quote at all. I'm curious why they couldn't even give us a quote.

Keep your records for every transaction, withdrawal signature's and get your monthly statements. Not annual statements. 40+ years a customer, paid monthly, every month on whole life insurance. What a depressing expensive lesson!
