I had an amazing experience at Funky Buddha in Eastown! Attending their free yoga day class was a fantastic way to get a taste of what they offer. The Power Flow class I tried was absolutely incredible, especially for someone like me who loves hot yoga. The heat really helped relax my muscles and enhance the overall experience.

What truly stood out was the instructor's attentiveness. They would circulate during the class, ensuring everyone's form was correct. If they noticed any misalignment, they would offer gentle guidance to make sure we were doing the poses correctly. This personalized touch added so much value to the class.

The session was incredibly relaxing, yet it still provided an excellent workout. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Funky Buddha and wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow yogis or anyone looking to give yoga a try.

I moved to GR in November and I've been blessed to be within walking distance to Funky Buddha (Easttown). I'm glad I took the intro class before taking the regular classes, because I'll admit it was a little intimidating and more challenging than I'm used to! Staff are super kind though and I've been enjoying my 4 classes/mo membership. The only thing I'm still trying to get used to is how large the classes are since I came from a small studio - hopefully that just means I'll make new friends at some point. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking to get sweaty, active, and take a break from their brain.

I’ve been going here for a couple of months and every class has been a 10/10!!! The instructors know what they’re doing and there hasn’t been a class I was disappointed with. Especially with yoga instructor, Austin! She always has a positive attitude throughout the work out and meditation. The staff is always kind to me. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

Awesome class, awesome instructor, easy to get questions about schedule and membership, and got a great deal on my first yoga membership! Very excited to start my hot yoga journey here (and in GR!)! Very excited about all the locations and classes available for streaming.

They are simply the best at what they do. Plenty of classes to choose from - slow flow to power flow, with and without music... and each class is one hour and offers a proper butt kicking workout! The instructors are great and seem to intuitively know when it’s time to move to the next pose, yet keeping you in long enough to build strength into your practice! Everyone is helpful and available for questions! They are just beautiful people! So glad I joined!

Everything was awesome. I was new so the instructor Audra was super welcoming and helpful. The class was perfect for more sore runner muscles and as a giraffe I could hide in the back. They also have a cool 30 day promo that is affordable.

Highly recommend. The entire staff is extremely helpful and kind and everyone in the class is happy. I've only went three times (Eastown only) and am already obsessed. My instructor each time was Christina, and she's extremely professional and really explains each position so newcomers can understand. Clean facility with a comfortable and happy vibe.

Funky Buddha has meant so much to me over the last several years. It is a welcoming, accepting and encouraging environment. The instructors and staff treat everyone with respect and want each yogi to experience his/her best self during that class however that may look. No judgment.

My sister and I had been wanting to try this place since it opened but never got around to it. They had a birthday celebration where it offered free yoga classes for two days so we finally went to one. We did the slow yoga which I really loved. I can't imagine doing yoga if it isn't 95 degrees. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful during our visit and convinced us to do it again in the future. They also have a great deal for a Groupon currently if anyone wants to try it out! You save over $100!

My girlfriends and I tried the absolute beginners class last week. None of us have ever taken a formal yoga class...and have really only done the few moves in P90X. This was a 2 hr class and let me tell you..it was amazing! The three instructors were so incredibly nice and they answered any questions people had. We would learn a few moves and then "flow" by going from move to move to move. The instructors would walk around and adjust you if you needed it but it was very helpful and they were very encouraging. We were in a class with other "absolute beginners" and it was a great environment. You didn't feel like you were being judged if you couldn't do the move just right. You definitely SWEAT but it feels so good! I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in trying Hot yoga!!

Laurie is wonderful! The class was the right mix of challenging and restorative and she gave helpful tips throughout. Plus, the woman at the front desk was great too and very helpful/friendly. Everything was clean and two of their locations are convenient for me.

I am crazy about this place. Great for my mind and body. The instructors are smart, kind, wonderful people, and the studio is very clean and pleasant. I highly recommend it.
Helpful info: You can rent a mat and towel for, I believe, around $2, and there are blocks and straps to borrow for free. The absolute beginners class is a good place to start, so you can get used to the heat and learn the poses.

I started my yoga experience at Funky Bhudda 6 or 7 years ago. I have always enjoyed the talented instructors and friendly, peaceful atmosphere. Yoga has positively impacted both my physical and mental health. I would recommend this practice to anyone that has an open mind. Unfortunately most the people I know are close minded to such things.

The instructors were very knowledgeable and attentive to the group. The vibe at Funky Buddha is welcoming, fun, and peaceful all at the same time! My husband and I love it there - we will be back for more!

I don't normally write reviews, but when I saw the Funky Buddha got some negative ones I felt I had to chime in. I began going to Funky Buddha about a month ago and I was instantly in love. I had never been to a yoga studio before, hadn't even practiced at my house! The staff there are the friendliest people you will ever meet and they (and the assistants) help you however and whenever they can to better your experience. And the people that go there are always friendly and open to meeting new people and no one judges if you are a beginner like myself.
Soon after I started there, things got rather complicated in my personal life, Funky Buddha was (and is) my place to go to clear my mind and hit reset. Not sure what I would do without that safe haven!

Some notes for those who have never been to this studio. The studio is very clean; the staff is kind, helpful, and welcoming;, and it was a good workout. BUT, some things that caught me off guard. And to contextualize, I live and practice extensively in a different state.

1: The rental mats are not sticky enough for a heated/humid class. If you are visiting or are new to yoga, you might slide around a bit.

2: FB does not offer much attention to breath work (no pranayama) or cueing of breaths through the flow. There’s nothing wrong with this!! Just know what you’re getting into: it’s more of a workout class than a traditional yoga practice.

3: This may be unique to the class I attended (and may also be a personal preference), but the transitions between poses could use a little bit of work. The flow felt a bit choppy at times. Better cues from the instructor could easily fix this though.

To reiterate: I had a pleasant experience at FB and would recommend (and I’ll be back when I am in town), but those who prefer more pranayama (like myself) should know that this place might not fit the bill.

There is a reason why this studio is so popular, the teachers and staff are incredible at what they do. I started as a brand new yogi and continue to learn and grow with every practice. For me, the best thing is the sense of community at this place. Every one is so friendly and the studio welcomes people to come as they are. I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you Funky Buddha!

I am so grateful for the knowledgeable and skilled instructors at Funky Buddha. Grace gave an amazing class and I truly enjoyed the experience, and am always grateful for the opportunity to climb out of my head and stress to embrace health and release in a nurturing environment.

In regards to yoga practice

This week I have been enjoying yoga at the Funky Buddha, not sure if it’s a mantra or social comment on the students condition being that it’s hot yoga, regardless while practicing Larissa a highly enjoyable instructor made multiple corrections unbidden and without reserve. Finding what is wrong in the room and gently guiding it back into place. What a joy it is to come to a studio and know that if I am in the wrong or could benefit from improvement it will be offered unabashedly, and what a greater joy when unsure as to my practice or posture to have the instructor walk by, observing, but not correcting as an affirmation that what I am doing in that moment is enough, and is proper for that time.

I got my girlfriend an unlimited month of yoga over the phone, And Lisa was freaking Stellar and helped me get the best price for her yoga unlimited month. All I heard about was how wonderful their powerflow (with music) classes were, and I even considered doing yoga myself. Even though I’m a afraid of stretching in front of people... THANK YOU LISA! You are about to make her day!
