Old Village Inn

I have now stayed here a couple of times and every time the service has been impeccable. We are always greeted by friendly staff when checking in and made to feel welcome.
Usually we will come down to the Bar around 4pm and the atmosphere is great, everyone is chatting with each other and nothing is too much trouble for the bartenders.
We have eaten at the OVI numerous times both at the bar and in the restaurant and each time the food has come in good time and always tastes wonderful, We were just up for thanksgiving and even though it was very busy as almost one of the only places in town open, the waiters made sure the standard of service was just as good as usual. The Thanksgiving dinner was reasonably priced and piping hot on service, although busy we were not rushed at all and enjoyed the day tremendously

I gave the room 5 stars because it reminded me of my grandparents' old house. The bar is fantastic. Food is wonderful. Very friendly people working there.

Didn't stay here, just had dinner. AMAZING!!! I was blown away by the quality of the food, especially in a tourist town. The chicken piccata was the best I have ever had, and I'm picky. The sauce was actually tart, and not cut with too much butter (or cream.. yuck) like some places. Perfectly cooked. My mom's lobster pasta special was phenomenal. We cleaned our plates.

We overheard our waitress talking to other customers and she has worked here for 40 years. That really says something about how well they must treat their staff. Excited to come back here next time I am in town!

We visit Ogunquit several times a year and dine here every time we are in town including every New Year’s Eve. The food and service is always exceptional and consistent. I’ve ordered most items on the menu and have been 100% pleased with every meal. I love that the staff is consistent and they remember each time. I also have to share my recent experience.m. We had a dinner reservation with friends at the end of August. When our party arrived the waitress observed that I was missing and asked if I was OK. My husband explained I was extremely ill and stayed in the hotel room. She offered to pack food to go and my husband said I could not hold food down. After dinner, she handed him a bag with a cup of French onion soup (she removed all the onions!) along with bread. I hope she reads this review and knows how her very much I appreciated that so very kind gesture and I was able to eat it! She is a gem of a waitress and we love when we are seated in her section. I wish I could remember her name and I do plan to thank her in person the next time we are there! I would call this kind of service more than five stars!! OVI is lucky to have her on their staff. ❤

This place was by far the best dining experience we’ve had in Maine so far. Me and my boyfriend were celebrating our anniversary and had the tastiest drinks and best entrees here! I got the coffee martini and it was amazing. We also got the potstickers which were great as well. My boyfriend got bourbon steak tips and I got the chicken picatta and it was absolutely delicious. The BEST chicken picatta I’ve ever had and I don’t usually like steak tips but they were SO good. Our bartender was so personable and everyone around us was so friendly and kind. Highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!

The OVI "Where everybody knows your name"

This is a terrific small inn, restaurant and bar right in downtown Ogunquit. We are international travellers from the UK and we stay here twice a year.

The food, drinks and stay are always top notch. We would not think of going anywhere else. The inn is over 100 years old and you can feel its history.

Would definitely recommend.

We shared a wonderful dinner here this evening. Impeccable service, generous portions made to perfection. We started with scallops and spinach & artichokes gratin. This evenings main fare was chicken Marsala and chicken piccata. Everything was scrumptious!

Restaurant was so good! Hidden gem. Our waitress was very attentive, brought us things before we had to ask for them. Food was very good from appetizers, to dinner, to dessert. Bacon wrapped scallops, stuffed shrimp, and the cookie skillet were our top hits of the meal. We’ll definitely be back!

We had dinner there,very quaint and welcoming. Our server was an older man and he was superb...the food heavenly try their Snails...1st time I.had them and the dish was tasty..Both of us had fish dishes; scallops spinach garlic angel hair pasta in a light cream sauce, other dish lobster with garlic +angel hair pasta...excellent,

Easy to miss and not well advertised but excellent quality dinner. Dining room was quiet inside, which is a welcome break from the Ogunquit hussle and bussle, with interesting decor and a peaceful atmosphere. A bit dimly lit and getting seated took a little while because there was no one around at the front, but the food was well worth it. A great choice to beat the crowds at other restaurants.

I absolutely loved the service and food at this lovely restaurant! Very Comfortable and old school in decor but so clean and truly a fabulous experience! Jim, our waiter was wonderful as well as all servers joining in to make our evening enjoyable! .We will be back and looking forward to another delicious dinner at the Old Village Inn Restaurant!

Loved the restaurant. Warm and cozy on a cold night . The food was very good .

Had a drink in the bar and stayed for dinner as well. The pomegranate martini was superb, as was the escargot and the lobster dinner special. SO GOOD. Wouldn't have minded a little nibble of pretzels or something served with the drinks as we hadn't yet decided what we might order, but again, the food was AMAZING. Very friendly people as well. Would definitely return.

On Wednesday, May 17, 2023 we had the great pleasure of having dinner at the Olde Village inn of Ogunquit, Maine and I have to say we were not disappointed. The service was outstanding. The food was incredible. Having been to the OVI many times, the food just gets better and better. Thanks for a great meal!

Had our 25th anniversary dinner here, and we were very glad we chose this place. The food was excellent and our server Jim was great. I had the sauteed scallops in pernod cream sauce, they were incredible. Hubby had the rib eye and said it was very good. We started with scallops wrapped in bacon, good but nothing special. Shared a bottle of pinot grigio and had dessert packed to go. When I made the reservation on open table I requested a romantic table and we were seated in the back next to the twinkling lights, just perfect!

Went here with a group of people for dinner. The food was exceptional, service spectacular, and atmosphere great! We got the bacon wrapped scallops, Brie fondue, lobster pasta, red wines, Chardonnay and everyone was very happy with their food and drinks. Would definitely come here again.

Service was great and the ambiance was wonderful. We ordered the rib eye for dinner. So much fat and it was thinner than we expected. Despite that little speed bump, we will definitely go back!

Delicious food. I recommend the baked stuff shrimp. We were a party of 4 so we ordered the mushroom ravioli as an appetizer. We had some laughs wirh our waiter who has been there 30 plus years.

Great tavern bar, owner and staff very friendly. Food is great! Had the salmon and seafood stuffed haddock, both were excellent at a reasonable price. We look forward to returning. Check it out!

Really great dinner . Escargot and scallop app followed by lobster bisque and clam chowder. Our entrees were Steak au Poivre and Lamb with lava cake for dessert. Wine list very fairly priced. Steak au Poivre a bit of a let down, tasty but needed more poivre. Fell a little flat. When I called I mentioned that it was our 43rd anniversary and I requested a nice table at a window if possible. What we got was a table back in a dark corner. I still gave five stars because overall we enjoyed the evening.
