Backyard Coffeehouse & Eatery

A long line that went outside the front door was the first good sign that this was a great place and the food and coffee confirmed our choice. Many different coffee options from drip to espresso, dark to medium blends, with regular and decaf - the coffee was delicious - BARD coffee beans from Portland, ME. The egg bacon and cheese sandwich on a bagel was a decent option for some morning protein. Finally, a great outdoor space to sit and enjoy breakfast on the side of the building made the trip (and wait) totally worth it!

Great little place for coffee, sandwiches, salads, baked goods & specialty drinks, just shy of the coast. We were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome and at ease, in spite of a rush that started just as we arrived. They went out of their way to make ours a delightfully relaxing and pleasant dining experience.

The interior is casual and eclectic, but patio dining is the best choice in good weather. Staff members are responsive to questions about food allergies, sensitivities and ingredient sourcing -- and considerate of diners concerned about what's in their food.

For an especially memorable visit, take a walk down the nearby foot path to the beach, and enjoy the extraordinary view while you finish your coffee!

My favorite place to go for coffee and breakfast when i'm driving up to Wells! It's such a great spot - so cute and delicious! I suggest the breakfast bowl and an iced vanilla latte to sit out on the lawn chairs. As all coffee shops, the orders can get backed up quick causing a longer wait time, so make sure to be patient and kind with the staff! I can't wait for them to open again :)

Very chilled, nice coffeehouse. Tasty salads, very fresh, although hard to eat, as they're not mixed, but the ingredients are nicely arranged on top of the greens. Friendly staff, and inviting store interior. Yummy latte and matcha latte. And some books for kids and newspapers, and games for adults.

That was a very nice place to have lunch! Good coffee and good food. We were all happy with our choices. Just be sure to pay attention to your beverage, the clerk was just putting them on the counter without saying which one it was.

I ordered the Smooth Criminal Special, (maple syrup, vanilla, milk, espresso, cinnamon) iced. My husband had it hot. We enjoyed it. The wait wasn't long. The place has good vibes.

The breakfast sandwich and pastries we had were very good. Can't comment on the coffee, I'm afraid, since we didn't order any, but the place was consistently busy which is a good sign

This is by far my favorite coffee and breakfast spot in Ogunquit. The blueberry scone with a delicious cup of coffee is my go to meal. We make it a point to visit every time we are in Ogunquit...this year we stopped in 3/5 days we were in town and each time the blueberry scones were sold out because they are that good and we also got there a little later in the morning. On our last day in town I woke up early to place my order online and finally got my blueberry scone fix!! The other days we stopped in I enjoyed their delicious lemon/cherry scone, chocolate chip scone and also an egg and cheese sandwich on their multigrain bread...all were super yummy! The staff is also fantastic - friendly and helpful. There's a good amount of seating indoors and even more spots to sit outside. You might have to be a little patient looking for parking if you drive there, but it is so worth it!

I had Breakfast here 2 times during my stay in Ogunquit and each time I was very pleased with the quality of food and super friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely gets busy on the weekends. I would suggest ordering online ahead of time and skipping the long lines on Sat and Sun.

Great location on the way to the beach. Friendly and fast service in the Backyard which can be very busy, but they get your order out quickly. Food and coffee are great too!!

Friendly, fast excellent service. Their medium roast coffee was absolutely delicious. I never have been to a coffee shop where I got my bacon egg and cheese sandwich so fast! Lots of space to eat inside and they have some outdoor dining areas too. Highly recommend and would definitely go back there.

Bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel is delicious. Cinnamon donut muffin is delicious. Iced mocha is not too chocolatey... and delicious.

I had a delicious ham egg and cheese bagel here. They were BUSY and service was still great.

Great coffee. I went here both days I was in town and found the Flat White coffes well made and with great aroma.

First time at Backyard Coffeehouse & Eatery and was blown away. Cold Brew and Iced Latte are delicious and the breakfast sandwiches are very tasty! Friendly and fast to serve everything. We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in town.

The coffee is great. Iced coffee and iced mocha were amazing and perfect for a hot day. Had to come back the next day for more.

Everything is wonderful at the Backyard, but beware plant-based peeps. Backyard charges a full $1 for alternative milk. Maybe alternative milks are expensive in Maine, but this feels price-gouging/taking advantage of plant-based consumers.
