Linear Restaurant

We went in on a weekday lunch and it was quiet for the duration. The place was airy and even better next to the Grand River! The drinks were good. The food was amazing. I do recommend the charcuterie board for a social time. That was really fun and yummy. We’ve never had wagyu before so we were really pleased to try it, and if they keep this on the menu, we’ll be pleased to come back. We enjoyed seeing the DJ booth for evening cocktails. Hope to be back for a dinner, drinks, and sunset session.

Tonight, my friend and I went to this place for the first time to celebrate our friendship of over 20 years. It was a busy night, but we were seated right away, which was great. Our waitress was amazing, really friendly and attentive. She made sure our drinks stayed full and cleared our plates quickly, and she even took the time to chat with us about why we were there. And the food? It was incredible. The mussels and wagyu flank were especially delicious; the combination of blue cheese and flank was mouthwatering. We were so impressed that we'll definitely be coming back with other family members to try it out.

I've visited this restaurant a couple of times now and I absolutely love it. The vibe here is amazing. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, which is super helpful when you have questions about unfamiliar ingredients/dishes. I've visited for brunch both times, and it is a fairly smaller menu, but you will still find options, and it is vegetarian friendly. Their mixed drinks are excellent and super charged. The food is absolutely scrumptious! I love their French toast and seasoned potatoes, and their skirt steak is also cooked for perfection. That meat is very tender and flavorful. I recently discovered his gem and I can't wait to go back during summer time, since it is right on the river, I can only imagine how beautiful the outside patio view must be, and it looks like they also have live music. Needless to say, I will be back again soon, but this time, for dinner. Because that menu also looks amazing!

Went here the other week. The hostess was super rude. She didn’t even say Hi or welcome in. Anyways, our server was great! The food was amazing. The drinks were tasty. We will def be back to try out more food. So many good options on the menu. Cool vibes.. there was a Dj playing chill music. We will be back

Great drink menu, artfully done. Very flavor and well curated menu. Staff super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

The atmosphere was good and the server was very accommodating. Food variety was good and all food tasted even better. There was a road construction in front and not much parking so we had to park blocks away but worth it.

Very nice mid-upscale restaurant. Food was great, service was great, and the atmosphere was conducive to group conversation.

Incredible brunch. Service was fabulous. We will definitely be coming back here in the future. I haven’t tried the dinner menu yet, but plan to try it out!

We had a lovely anniversary dinner here. They have a romantic atmosphere, delicious food and attentive service. We are both vegetarians and had plenty of options. The "adult bubble tea" cocktail was a fun treat! We had focaccia as an appetizer, cacio e pepe and beetroot risotto for mains, and monkey bread as dessert. Everything was well presented and tasty! It was very easy to set up and adjust our reservation. The music was a little loud, but not so much that we couldn't have a conversation. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting.

Everything we had was amazing! Even down to the octopus! I’ve had octopus at many different restaurants and this place makes it soooo good! We had the corn soup, the octopus, shrimp and mussel pasta, the wagyu beef, strawberry shortcake dessert and also the sticky toffee cake dessert (we ordered a second round of this one because it was so freaking good!!) and the housemade pineapple ice cream. This place rocks! Will definitely be coming back!

Overall a great dining experience. Excellent service from our waiter start to finish. Very accommodating and helpful.

Chili was good. Potato appetizer was not something I'd get again. Charred octopus was excellent, cooked perfectly. Miso barbeque salmon was delicious, a perfect pairing of flavors with the grilled pineapple and peppery red cabbage.

Sadly we didn't have room for desert but wanted to try and was very curious about the tumeric cheesecake.

I'd dine here again for sure to keep diving into the menu.

Great atmosphere, lighting and background music. The food is great and they always have some creative specials. Drinks span from craft cocktails to lawnmower beers. I recognize much of the staff from around town from my many years in Grand Rapids. They are always welcoming and they know what they are doing which you don't always get these days. A real gem....I need to get there more often.

*UPDATE* They’ve updated their Brunch Menu! There’s some awesome new options to try out. Expect great service and delicious food!

I went in a group and we all had a wonderful time. Friendly staff, a calming atmosphere, and incredible food all make Liner a destination.

Together our group tried a Cheese Plate, the Lox, the “MLT”, the Brie Grilled Cheese, the Coffee Creme Brulée, a 20-Layer Crepe Cake, and some drinks. Everything was perfectly proportioned and tasted amazing. We were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food as well as the atmosphere.

Linear is a restaurant I will definitely keep up with and return to in the future.

Be prepared to spend quite a bit, but it is well worth it. The food is absolutely incredible, I was suggested the scallops by the server and I'm so glad I tried it. The portion was small, so I was hungry afterwards, but if you're willing to get an appetizer or a dessert, it's the perfect place for a date night

Enjoyed a lovely dinner outside by the river listening to the soothing sounds of soul-jazz and reggae as part of their vinyl DJ summer series. I ordered the braised beef, the spinach coconut salad, and the focaccia bread bowl. The beef had an odd texture but fantastic flavor, and with the delicious bed of mashed potatoes, was more than enough for two people. The salad surpassed my expectations and the tiny squares of coconut were a delight to bite into. I cannot say enough about the bread bowl. It came out piping hot and stayed hot throughout the meal. It could easily fill the bellies of four people. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and one I hope to repeat.

We enjoyed a girls' night on the patio and the food and drinks were amazing! Dessert was our favorite and the cocktails were great too! Coffee at the end was delicious :)
Sounds odd but the bathroom smelled so good! Only downside is parking, but we found some scooters close by that made it fun!

Great restaurant at a great location! Good vibes and good food. We tried Diver Scallop and Venere Black Risotto, Miso Barbecue Salmon, Charred Octopus and Lemon Pound Cake. Scallop and Venere Black Risotto was okay but the rest were absolutely delicious. The restaurant is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Would go here again (will probably sit outside enjoying the Grand River view) and definitely recommend it to anyone. Keep up the good work, Linear team!

I think this is one of the better spots in Grand Rapids. Cool 'vibe' with music playing (but not too loud)...good drinks....food is always really good. I really enjoy the flank steak and the muscles.

Great service and very nice ambiance. The wagyu was a bit chewier than expected but overall the food was great!

Update 2021: We visited Linear again for Valentine's day and everything was top notch. Tried the Wagyu again as well and it was better this time. Our server was a delight (same one as our first visit). Get the Focaccia bread bowl, it's epic!
