Mario's Golden Nugget

1st time here with a friend....my slim Jim had lots of thick ham and other great ingredients. Onion rings were perfect....definitely check this place out.

Atmosphere is nice, Greek salad with chicken is absolutely worth the wait cooked perfectly and quite delicious!

We got the Michigan salad and one of the lunch specials, the 1/2 corned beef and potato soup and I added an extra side of fries for 99 cents.

Had a great oxford omlette for breakfast. Our server was top notch and very friendly! The prices are more than fair, and the portions very generous. We live on the east side and when we come out to Oxford, we always stop in! Highly reccomend.

I was there for breakfast the restaurant was very busy. The staff seemed to handle the crowd just fine. The waitress was very nice and prompt with the service. It didn't take very long to order and be served our food. I had an omelet which was very good. Overall the visit was good and I would recommend this place to anyone who is in Oxford and wants the family dinning experience. 👍👍

Service was really nice~ i have been craving some chicken and waffles for quite a bit and i am SO SURPRISED with how amazingly delicious it was!!! The chicken was savory, crunchy, and juicy~ which tasted very pleasant with the sweet and soft waffle with a light drizzle of maple syrup~

i was also a pig and got scrambled eggs with bacon and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were crunchy and delicious!~

Loved this place. First time visiting. Super friendly, very attentive and the food was great. Thank you so much for a great meal at a reasonable price.

FOOD: It was hot, fresh ingredients, flavorful, and colorful.

Portion sizes were generous.

The wait staff were attentive, friendly, and skilled.

We were part of a group of a dozen people or so, and all up and down the table people were very happy with breakfast. Will definitely go back to sample other meals.

Large variety of choices on the menu and great daily specials. Typical restaurant atmosphere with great food.

Amazing Greek Chicken Pita. Their seasoning is amazing & the chicken is grilled, never dry. The Hanni is equally delicious. Their fries are crispy & hold up to the drive home. Excellent neighborhood restaurant.

Never had a bad meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all good!

This used to be our favorite restaurant for at least 5 years. We went there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Alone or with guests.

The food was good and reliable. Nobody in our family of 6 or our guests ever had a meal they didn't like. The service from the staff was fast, friendly, and courteous. Since the owner was almost always there, he would ensure that the food and service were top-notch.

I wish I had written a 5 star review at that time because in the last few months, the food has still been good but the service has sharply dropped. The waitstaff are slower to greet you at your table and the coffee and water refills are also slow to come around. The bill was delivered right after the food was served.

Since the service had changed so much and we had not seen the owner for a few months, I had a look on the web and found that they had sold the place. It will take some effort, but I hope the new owners are able to improve it soon.

December 2023 update: Mario's is back up to a high level of service as well as food quality. Try the chicken Lola salad and you won't be sorry.

Very good! Robin, our waitress was top notch as were the others. She was right, the corned beef was heavenly!

The breakfast spicy skillet with chorizo, with sausage gravy instead of chili, is the best thing thats ever happened to me

We were in the area, far from our usual stomping grounds, running an unrelated errand. This family style restaurant popped up in a Google search for nearby eateries and seemed like a good bet. Not disappointed with our choice! Super friendly/attentive wait staff and nice proportions of available-all-day breakfast fare made for a pleasant and satisfying lunch.

Dawn was our waitress. As an experienced waitress myself, it was nice to have someone who could handle how busy they were. I happened to go on Sunday morning at 930 am. Eound one for Church rush. Dawn toom good care of us. Coffee stayed full, and food was served in a timely manner and tasted good.
