Claybanks Pottery

Wonderful little pottery shop. The owners are always sweet and welcoming. The pieces are all beautiful and unique. My personal favorite pattern is the blue flower, which wasn’t available in a mug when I visited. The owner told me she had a few mugs that would be ready in a week or so and she would gladly paint one for me. As promised, it was ready on time and turned out absolutely perfect! I love my new mug. I have several pieces from here and it’s a must stop whenever we go “up north!”

I went there repeatedly years ago ,when I was up to my Silver Lake cottage around there. I purchased many pieces. One I particularly treasure is a wood -fired bowl. It's been on my coffee table for decades. Laurie and Steve made special pieces for me. I have vases, lamps, bowls from this truly talented couple. I love their glazes.
Sadly, I no longer live near enough to visit anymore. Truly functional as well as decorative work.

We loved our stop in! The pottery was captivating as a Michigan Native and so was the atmosphere. We loved the artist, she was great to talk to! Pottery is fairly priced! We will undoubtedly be back.

Can be hard to find off of road because it is tucked in the woods. East side of road south of county park.

Beautiful store on a beautiful piece of land. Loved the pottery. Little bird houses are so cute. I got this dish that you rub garlic into add oil for bread dipping. Loved that. And had to get a Michigan garden stake. Will come back. Head north a little to the Clay banks lookout to see lake Michigan

Laurie and Steve are Great artists. I met them in the 70s right after the shop opened. We always had fun visiting and buying beautiful pottery

This is a hidden gem near Stony Lake!!!! Amazing pottery in this cute house! I have bought pieces over the years form here and love them all. Defiantly worth going a bit out of your way to stop in.

A beautiful, out of the way, art gallery and pottery place. The pieces were unique, well made and well-priced. It's out there, but enjoyed the country drive and the property is beautiful!
