Little City Books

Every Tuesday after work, I ask my girlfriend if she’d like to go for a walk; it only took two weeks for her to realize that “go on a walk” means “walk all the way down First Street to Little City Books”. It just so happens that every Tuesday is also new release day!

LCB is a quaint local book shop not far from the PATH and waterfront & they have an impressive selection for the size of the store.

By the way, if you’re someone who doesn’t want to support small businesses or authors by paying cover price, instead of bringing up the price difference on Amazon, go to your local library instead. :)

Curated selection with short and thoughtful staff insights posted across most shelves. It feels like a library of personal favorites, opened to the neighborhood. You’re bound to leave with something after visiting.

I really love this cute corner bookstore. The employees are friendly and you can take your time and even sit and read. They also have a really cute level for kids to explore.

Great bookstore with a seemingly compact yet diverse selection of fiction. I noticed that they highlight many up-and-coming as well as POC authors, which is a nice surprise. The decor feels very welcoming, and I like that they have a children’s bookstore annex.

Cute little bookstore in the little city of Hoboken. Small space but plenty to choose from I easily walked away with 3 books and a free tote!

I love this store. They have a great and unique collection of books and other goods. Personally I like their greeting cards and selection of interesting literary collections, such as maps.

Just realized I’ve been buying from here for years and never given this absolutely delightful independent bookstore the praise it deserves. Love the ambiance, and the helpful staff and staff recommendations. The selection is great to the point of being dangerous - whenever I pick up an order, I’ll probably leave with four other books that caught my eye.

Little City Books is an absolute gem. Small and charming, this bookstore offers a wide variety of books for any avid reader. Whether perusing or going with a specific book in mind, I guarantee you will end up with an armful of books to take home. The layout encourages you to look through the whole store while providing staff picks in every section. I highly recommend stopping at Little City if you find yourself in the neighborhood.

My wife Jack and I wanted to bulk order books for a guest gift at our wedding and Kate at Little City Books made it really easy. They had ~50 books ordered to the store and reserved for me too pick-up in a single box within just a few days of ordering. It worked really well, and the books were a hit!

A little dome full of books, information and good guides (I talked to them, they are very charming) for your unidentified desires for histories and poetry.

Always friendly and a well laid out store. The summaries of books provide good guidance. Great that they host readings etc for children - seems to be a big selection of books for them too.
Also, if you ever need a unique card for a special occasion then stop on by!

This review is coming at ya from a true bibliophile: I absolutely love Little City Books! It’s one place I’ve truly missed during COVID. I typically go in every few months to pick out a stack of books to read, and I sincerely appreciate the little summaries and recommendations left on the shelves by the staff. It’s led me to discover some unexpected authors and titles that ended up being some of my all-time favorites! Recently I’ve placed a couple of orders, one in person and one online, and the process was simple and handled swiftly and professionally. I can’t recommend this place enough!

My 3 year old and I stumbled upon this incredible bookstore last week. The children’s section downstairs is magical. So well designed, really well stocked and the people were very helpful and lovely. We can’t wait to go back! The one problem, like with anything else in Hoboken if you’re not a resident, is parking, but this place is well worth the hassle.

Great local book store in Hoboken. Selection is really superb and excellent section for kids.

Small, edgy bookstore - but with a fabulous selection nonetheless. I love the fact that they have personal descriptions of certain books that are featured. My friend and I bought two excellent books based on their recommendations. I would like to personally see more scifi and sci fantasy recommendations!

Nice bookstore in Hoboken not far off from the Path. I like the LCB recommendations and have found a few good reads
