Dr. Vallur S. Thirumavalavan, MD

Dr. Thiru is an excellent doctor, and I am fortunate that he has been my PCP for nearly 12 years. In the first two years of Dr. Thiru managing my healthcare, he guided the beginning of a turnaround in my then extremely poor health when, during that time, I had to have a pacemaker and stent implanted, both procedures performed by doctors to whom I was referred by Dr. Thiru; was admitted to a 4-person cluster ward for round-the-clock monitoring because my blood pressure was so extremely low I was at risk of contracting sepsis; and survived a 16-day coma due to failure of both kidneys, after which the tumor that caused it was removed. Dr. Thiru has, since then, continued to guide my turnaround, recommending bariatric surgery after which I've lost 200+ pounds and am now in quite good health, the best I've enjoyed in 4 or more decades.

Dr. Thiru takes the time to observe and ask questions and listen to what I'm saying, and also to answer my questions, which I suspect takes more time than might be typical, as I review my lab test results, for example, and do research, to understand the factors and the important of the reference ranges and trends to my health which he's kind and patient enough to explain further. And just like Dr. Thiru, the office staff--Shoma, who has been there since I first met Dr. Thiru, and Uma--have been, without fail, professional, courteous, and friendly. The office is always clean, appointments are easy to make and are facilitated by an app you can access with a smartphone, and lastly, in the unusual instance when Dr. Thiru might be running late, as I've told other patients in the reception area, it's because another patient needs his attention, and when we need it, as I know from experience, we'll have his full attention, too.

Dr. Thiru is a great doctor, the best I have known in my life.
