I shared this beautiful Porterhouse for 2 with a friend and sat at the bar. I was apprehensive about sitting at the bar to eat this amazing cut of prime meat, along with the spot-on, traditional spinach & potatoes au gratin, but the bartender provided us with 1st class service. Thank You Candice! I can't wait for the next special occasion at Char!

Best Steak place in New Jersey! Cowboy Ribeye was so amazing & soft! You can literally cut that with butter knife. Best ambience, best food, best service. They have a very good dessert options too. We usually order Mousse Cake alot here. But tonight we ordered Creme Brulee. Believe me it's one of the best Brulee I've ever had. I don't want to name other steakhouses in New Jersey, but this is much better than all the famous places I've had. 100% recommended for steak & dessert.

My husband and I absolutely love going for dinner here. The first time we went, a server by the name of Dario waited on us. We fell in love with his amazing personality and deamenor. He is friendly, and always upbeat. We have returned 3 more times and always ask to sit in his section.
The food is also great! Love every single cut of meat we have tried. Love the way their sides are shareable too. We will be returning many more times, God willing. And we encourage everyone reading this review to do the same. If you want an unforgettable dining experience, make sure you sit in Dario's section.

Char Steak House offers exceptional food and drinks in a welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after indulging in cannabis. My girlfriend and I frequent this establishment for their delicious steaks, oysters, chicken sandwiches, and the mouthwatering meat and potato pasta dish. The highlight? Their delightful bread selection, including a standout pretzel roll. It’s a hoot!

Very nice restaurant and great experience overall. My waiter Greg was very friendly, attentive and personable. I had a ribeye that was cooked precisely as it should have been. I paired it with mashed potatoes which were good as well. Had a very good Manhattan to start, a medium bodied Malbec with my steak and finished the evening with some chocolate mousse cake and a Graham's 30yr tawny port. The chocolate cake was massive. All sides are designed to share. I would definitely recommend Char for a nice night out and a fabulous steak dinner.

If you’re looking for a classy restaurant then this is it! The ambiance, service and the food was phenomenal! Me and my fiancé celebrated our anniversary here and it’s the best decision! We ordered tomahawk steak and mashed potatoes and it was delicious, they also offer complimentary bread/pretzels. Would totally recommend!

Great steak. Had the 12 oz filet. Cooked perfectly. My wife had the crab cakes that she thought were the best she’s ever had. Service was top notch even with a full restaurant. Was our first time at Char and we were impressed. Will definitely be back.

Great Restaurants. Service is top notch and they go the extra mile to make sure the customers are happy and satisfied. Atmosphere is also awesome. You can talk and spend time together with friends and family. There is nothing loud to prevent that. It has a very nice touch. Food is also unbelievable. So far everything I have tried here is been one of a kind. Every time in town for sure I will come back. Keep it up guys. You are doing a great job. Thank you for a great night.

Enjoyed the delicious Tomahawk steak (Medium ofcourse) with my Wife on our Anniversary.

The drinks were amazing. I had the Char Fashioned, a smoky Old Fashioned that was so smooth.

The Cappuccino and Bread Pudding was a great combination as a dessert.

Outdoor setting with the Waterfall was an nice getaway on a beautiful summer night. Amazing evening

Food was really great! There is no fluff or anything unnecessary on the plate and the sides were delicious too. Steaks were cooked beautifully and the sauce was a perfect accompaniment. For the price I'd put this as a good date night option.

Great Food & Great Service ! We were attended by Taylor who was amazing. She was helpful with the menu, specials, drinks, etc. We also enjoyed the conversations we had with her. She truly added to the the great experience we were having. She is an asset to Char! The waitstaff was attentive and very cordial too. We have been to Char a few times and will definitely return!!

This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised, the food was great, delicious, and well seasoned. The fillet mignon was cooked perfectly. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Pleasantly impressed. Tough with a good table but all of our bread, food and drinks were wonderful. Martinis were great, ribeyes extra fatty, fries wonderfully crispy.

This was our second time visting Char (on Valentine's Day). Our waiter was Joe, and he was super personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the table next to us housed two little old nasty bitties, and they gave the staff a hard time about receiving their food too early, and proceeded to take their frustrations out on Joe. The manager they spoke to didn't do much about defending his staff, and shame on him for his lack of loyalty (I hope he reads this). Despite their nastiness, Joe was very accomodating and apologetic. He's an asset to Char, and management needs to recognise that. Aside from that, food was excellent. I had the filet mignon with the lobster tail, and my fiance had the cowboy steak. And omg the bacon appetizer! My only suggestion would be to maybe put the Chargaritta's in some big girl glasses:D They're delicious!

We had excellent steak dinners. Char will be added to our favorite list, and we will definitely return and recommend.

We found Char Steakhouse through a Google search while visiting the area from out-of-state. Starting with complimentary rosemary focaccia bread, we enjoyed crab-stuffed mushrooms, dry aged Prime Cowboy Ribeye, salmon cobb salad, sautéed spinach, and a trio of lemon, mango and raspberry sorbets. Everything was beyond delicious! Our waiter — Emery — was simply first class. We were also impressed with the hostesses, busboys, and management who all worked together seamlessly to ensure a memorable experience. We highly recommend this truly wonderful restaurant!!

Excellent service, food was amazing, and we loved the ambiance. Definitely worth every penny, my husband had the Cowboy Ribeye cooked to perfection with grilled asparagus. I had shrimp scampi w/ sauteed spinach, and a crabcake as a appetizer, lumps of crab meat, it was delicious.
