Good Mexican food in a lovely atmosphere. Our waitress was so attentive. We went back the next evening for taco Tuesday, the tacos were pretty bad I am sorry to say, the did not even season the meat. It was quite different than the food the night before. Maybe it was just a bad night but I expected more.

This is a great place for à nice dinner and drinks . And bring the family. The food is excellent and the prices are great. Easy access for handicaped.

Top notch food. Chile Rallenos was huge & tasty. Great service.
Ask for their hot salsa sauce.

We are traveling to Itacha and we're so impressed with this restaurant. The place is beautiful, the cocktails are great, the service was super professional and fast and on top of all, the food was so good. The portions were big, and the food was super authentic and yummy.
We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.
Don't skip this place when you are around.

The food is amazing, the waiter and waitress we dealt with are very nice and professional Diego and Sindy did a great job and made us feel very comfortable. The waitress also works as a bartender there and knows how to make great drinks. Highly recommended 10/10

There aren't a lot of Mexican restaurants in Ithaca so I gave this place a try. I'm glad I did because I've been back a couple times since. My favorites are the chimichanga, seafood enchiladas, and enchiladas suizas.

The food was good. Had a good number of options in the menu. The vibe was really nice. The staffs were super friendly. The food I offered was good and tasty as I expected. Definitely recommend if you like Mexican food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Old Mexico, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience that transported my taste buds straight to the heart of Mexico! From the moment I stepped inside, the vibrant and festive ambiance set the perfect mood for a memorable evening.

Let’s start with the food. The menu at La Cantina Mexicana is a treasure trove of authentic Mexican cuisine. I began my culinary adventure with their tantalizing guacamole, which was freshly prepared at the table with ripe avocados, zesty lime, and a hint of cilantro. It was the ideal combination of creamy and tangy, and the accompanying warm tortilla chips were a perfect complement.

Amazing value! I ordered sizzling steak and chicken. For $16. Dollars I got 2 plates of food. And took home 2 take home boxes of food for 1 meal!

Stepped in to order takeout and everything was delicious. Steak street tacos were great, and it was so nice to get four!! The corn tortillas were perfection, I would be shocked if they were not homemade. The rice and beans were enjoyably light but filling, and the chips and salsa were an added bonus. Staff was pleasant and friendly, will be coming back!

Food was good and the quantity is actually quite big. Service is very friendly!

I'm not a "drive thru " fake Mexican food girl, I need the food Mexican people actually eat and this place is it. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, the waitress came right over with fresh chips and salsa. Food was fabulous. We had a guest from out of town and we were not rushed. A wonderful experience!

The food was delicious and the portions were perfect. The margaritas were also good. A nice restaurant in Ithaca. Do check it out if your visiting the area.

We came here oct 2022 (it’s Jan 2024) and my boyfriend still talks about this place lol! He wants to come back to Ithaca just for Old Mexico. Food & margaritas were amazing and very cheap! Server was funny too

The food was excellent and the wait staff where very friendly. It's also a tremendous value food for 6 people with drinks and appetizers was under $200. You should definitely give this a try it you are in the mood for Mexican food.

Love the fajitas, and the chimichangas. The meat is well cooked but the vegetarian options are lacking. I really liked their guacamole. Their staff has been great everytime I've been.

Giant coronaritas are delicious and refreshing. The fajitas were sizzling, delicious, and generously portioned. Fresh chips and salsa when you sit down - all in all a great experience - diner style booths are comfortable and the place is relatively large so I haven't had to wait.

Update: went back with a group and had another great experience. Fifteen minute wait at the bar during dinner's busiest period - they take your number and call when your tables are ready which is convenient.

Holy moly. We went here at my parents' recommendation and I can't say enough good things! Chips and salsa are first rate. Crispy chips, homemade salsa, free refills. I got the lunch combo 4, which includes a beef tostada, a pork tamal, and refried beans. My companions got the chiles rellenos and chicken fajitas. Enormous portions. The poblano chile was cooked perfectly, with delicious red sauce and a cream sauce. The chicken fajitas were a huge surprise. It was probably 2 pounds of chicken, not dry at all, incredibly tender and smoky with onions and peppers (but the majority is chicken). Comes with rice and refried beans. And the refried beans are homemade, with a superb texture and great flavor (not just a mushy mess). Service was very friendly. Will definitely return! Highly recommend.

My family and I enjoyed the food. It was very quick and affordable. My wife really enjoyed the chicken mole.
