Keep the Hometown Hardware alive. Always love going to Durfee Hardware. The family has maintained the neighborhood charm and multifaceted practical assistance that every town needs to take care of household projects, construction tools,hardware, misc materials and supplies necessary to 'get it done'. Having joined the True value network has given the customer rewards and perks. However the uniqueness and old school model has not disappeared. Love it! What a variety is in what seems to be an ever expanding space. They keep such an inventory in an old brick storefront without seeming cramped or crowded. The key corner turns out good fits. Knowledgeable team of workers greet you and assist. Great line of products, paints, plumbing, yard tools, upstair tool loft (great to just hang out).
It's a place you feel like you belong. You've got to check it out. Great gift ideas!

Classic True Value hardware store right down to its historic creaky wooden floors. Not surprising it has received accolades throughout the years. Helpful staff, pretty much everything you might need on two floors with all sorts of wide ranging inventory. Located in historic Rolfe Square in Cranston.

Rachael at the heating and plumbing desk was incredibly helpful just minutes before closing. The gentleman at the desk was also very helpful with glass cutting but I hadn't cought his name.

Durfee Hardware has been here since I can remember, they always have hard to find items, the service is great, and I really like supporting local businesses

I love this store and am so thankful that I live close to it. I am in here at least once a week. The service is fantastic. If you need a grill, they will assemble and deliver. They also deliver a variety of items for a modest fee - no need to put a bag of cement in the trunk of your car, for example. I always come here first, and go to the big box stores as a last resort.

Best hardware store around. They have items you cannot find in some of the bigger stores. Customer service is outstanding. Amazing inventory for a small store. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this store. I've been going there over 40years.

Time travel cozy vintage..full of things my dad always had as a kid. Makes me miss him wish I could show him this place.

Just got some big porch screens re-screened, they barely fit in the back of my truck, I’m so happy I did! They look Great!

All of the employees at Durfee’s Hardware are knowledgeable, helpful, and they are alway asking if assistance is needed, it is a very different experience than your big old box store. I’m looking forward to having the rest of the porch screens done, if you need screens repaired get them repaired here.

Durfee’s is truly a Rhode Island gem. Their attention to customer service is from days long gone by. This,I’m sure, is the result of the importance and priority that the Durfee’s family has instilled in everyone there. Every staff member I’ve ever encountered there has gone above and beyond to make your visit a positive experience. My latest stop there was for a apparently finicky replacement car key. After a visit to the dealership without results I thought I would give Durfee’s a try. The gentleman,who met me in the old school key shop,proceeded to make three attempts to cut the key which for some reason, wouldn’t fit. After 50 minute and an astute inspection of the keys, he realized the the blank that matched my car key was slightly different from the original. He ground down some high spots in the blank and, to my surprise, succeeded in the task that the DEALERSHIP failed at. Tell me, where else can you get this kind of service…no where. Thank’s again for your patience and dedication you exhibited, which I’m sure was just business as usual, to satisfy this most appreciative customer. There’s a reason this store has become a RI institution.

This is my favorite hardware store of all times! I used to live close; now we travel over 30 minutes (a lot for RI drivers) to shop there. If you need quality tools (better than at big box hardware stores), a small part that’s very hard to find, or screws/nuts/nails/bolts etc by the pound or just a single one, they’ve got them at a very fair prices. Mr. Durfee, alas, is gone, but he’s got an amazing staff that he trained to be professional, helpful, and kind. Think of the old time hardware stores with dusty floors, but the best service you could ever have. That’s Durfee’s Hardware store!

I needed mirror tabs and they didn't have any more in stock, the sales person (Sal) was so very nice he ordered them for me...They were at the store waiting for me in two days!

Unmatched knowledge by the staff and they have all those items that the big boxes would never carry. To top it off, the creaking of the old wooden floor is priceless. Like the leather of an old ball glove, it’s unmatched.

This is by far the best hardware store around. They have absolutely everything. It is family owned and operated for many many years. There is always someone on hand to help you whether its to find something or give advice on how to fix something. I love this place and I love the people here. I can not praise them enough.

This shop is the opposite of "big box", and describing them as a "chain retailer" does them disservice. Durfee Hardware is preposterously overstaffed with friendly, helpful people. Multiple employees will offer to assist you every time you're in the store. Mr. Durfee is frequently in the store himself and has a great depth of knowledge on most home repair jobs. There are many older houses in eastern Cranston, and as they have been serving the neighborhood for decades, Durfee Hardware is particularly well-stocked in exactly the types of products needed to maintain the homes in the surrounding area. They can explain how to fix what's broken, then show you the things you need to do the job right.

Such a great old time hardware store. You can find everything you need here. Forget the big stores! Great personal service too

I love this place! Durfee has a cozy, small business atmosphere focused on the customer that is hard to find at the big chain stores. They usually have what I need and, if they don't, the staff is always friendly and will point you in the right direction.
