NEW MENU ITEM: Pumpkin Pancakes will literally blow your mind, they’re that good.

This is our usual breakfast spot, but I just had to post this to highlight the pancakes. Our typical breakfast is “The Classic” breakfast sandwich and the wait staff is always warm and welcoming, just like the pancakes 🥞🤩

PS: sorry no pics of the food, it was so good I forgot🤣

I haven’t been here in a few years because someone had told me they closed down? But they are open and running. Pretty busy even right at closing time on a weekday. The staff was super nice even though I came really late. There’s a list full of vegan specials and gluten free options which was great for my friend. I love the corned beef hash and Benedict with hollandaise myself though. Everything was reasonably priced and I’m glad they haven’t closed

Omg so this place def gives those diner vibes… in such a great way. My partner and I stopped in and they were quite busy but still got us seated in a timely manner. The waitress, I wish I got her name because she was really on her stuff! Attentive, made sure our drinks were topped off, checked in on us and she was very kind and respectful. The food was great! I had a Philly cheesesteak and fries. I look forward to going back.

Went here for breakfast, great start to the day. As a tourist this is just like the old school diner you see on TV. Recommended

This place is very nice to have breakfast or lunch. The place is small but is very well organized. Depending where you sit you can see the chef preparing the food. The teast of the food was good and the proportion was big.

We can from NY for an event. The waitress was great! Daisy, thank you for being great! My son said it felt like being at home with family. The food was great and the environment was clean and tidy.

I have to admit. I only stop here because I was walking by in the middle of a 96 degree heatwave to use the restroom and cool off. I decided to get an egg white omelet since I had a bit of time to kill. I normally don’t stop in diner type restaurants. But I have to say the staff were friendly. The kitchen is clean and efficient (I sat at the kitchen bar). And the special (Cuban Omelet) was really good! I am from the south and love grits. The grits were great. And there’s a lot of interesting things on the menu. FYI. I love my gluten goods. But if you are very sensitive to it, they have a whole grill and toaster dedicated to gluten free.

Cultural gem of the providence. Don’t know how it usually is but we had to wait in order to get in - well worth it . It’s a classic diner with a lot of history to it . Good food and hipster atmosphere. Nice and fast service, huge menu and healthy food options . I loved that spot and highly recommend it to any Providence visitor or locals. Prices are super reasonable, 5 stars

So so so glad we came here. Food was so good. I got the Cuban omelet that was on special and it did not disappoint. Even has vegan options for my friend. The picture is her vegan Reuben.

One of my favorite restaurants in Rhode Island! Staff is very friendly (especially Jackie), and the food is always good (both breakfast and lunch)! Very reasonably priced too.

This is and will always be my favorite diner in Providence and has been for years! I love the selections especially the potatoes pancakes. I secretly crave them at night. Lol. But food is freshly and the omelettes are unique. Keep it up!

We did breakfast. Very good food. One thing I noticed was the toast was really toasty. I almost think they toasted it on the grill but it is not like Texas toast. I usually expect warm bread but this was toasted.

First pic is a veggie omelets or something like that (wife). The second is a breakfast burrito that my oldest son pretty much inhaled and wanted more tortillas. The third pic is my younger son's go-to, western breakfast sammich. That was pretty much inhaled as well.

The fourth pic is my eggs, corned beef hash and grits. Everything was cooked perfectly, even my eggs over medium. The corn beef hash had a seasoning in it I was not used to being in hash but it was good. And I'm no grits aficionado but they seemed really good. I got them with the cheese and bacon but think I would try with just the bacon or even plain next time since I feel the grits were good enough to stand on their own.

Coffee was good, I did not try the flavored coffee but wish I had. The food came quick and was delivered hot. Servers were busy but prompt and very friendly.

Given the covid times we are in I will comment on that. It seems to me that they may have but up wood barriers between the booths. They looked new or at least newly painted. Regardless of when they were installed the barriers allowed separation between the occupants of adjacent booths and probably eased the noise levels a bit. All people that were required to be wearing masks wore masks the entire time we were there.

Overall this was a nice place that had a pretty good variety of food on the menu and it would be worth going back for breakfast and lunch a few times to try different dishes. We went on a rainy Saturday and were able to be seated quickly but I'm betting on a nice day that would not be the case and on post-covid times you'd have a bit of a wait.

Was in town for a wedding and was looking for a breakfast spot close to our airbnb and found The Classic Cafe. I had the hash eggs Benedict and it was great. Lots of options I wanted to try but I needed the salt and fat to help recover and prep for the upcoming night. Would love to get back there some day.

Only been there twice so far but phenomenal both times. Food is great. Wait staff very attentive. Strongly recommend the country fried steak & the eggs benedict.

The food is delicious, some of the only good food I’ve found in New England (judging from a southerner) !! The area is not the best, it’s right on the border of a good neighborhood and some really sketchy areas so just be careful when visiting. But the food is fantastic! Definitely recommend a visit.
