I have been staying in Providence for about a month for work. Living in a motel without a microwave and with a very small fridge. This place has saved my food budget. They have great deli food, soups, etc. I come here every few days and stock up. It's a great little co-op. I'm from Madison, Wisconsin, where we have a long tradition of co-ops. Urban Greens embodies co-op values so beautifully - consciously purchased products, and many locally produced. The people who work here have been warm and welcoming. It's clean and bright and well stocked. Give it a whirl if you've never been in! I wish they had a place you could eat inside/a meeting room. Maybe in summer there is outdoor seating.

Great variety of selection from fresh produce to prepared hot meals. I had the chilly soup highly recommend. I was not able to find as much organic produce as I would have liked. Locally sourced brands such as Gotham Garden. Cool building and has great parking. Will come back to try the others soups.

I am vegan, and surprisingly for Providence, I find it hard to find vegan products at an affordable price. Urban greens has everything that I need. I also found the bulk section very very affordable. If you can, bring your own jar to fill it up. The only mild disappointment is the lack of variety of produce, the produce section is relatively small. I think I’ll make this my go to grocery.

Always seems to be instock lot of stores lately have been sold out of everything but they never seem to be low on stuff here. decent sized store with almost everything you need. Has a huge selection of gluten free and vegan options which is great for when I’m shopping for clients.
Whole Foods type pricing. Some things I thought were really cheap and others I was surprised at how much it was BUT a lot ended up being cute small local businesses which I think is worth paying extra for. Spent about the same as I would spend at WholeFoods on the same amount of groceries but it’s closer to my house and had less traffic at it. Check out was fast and easy even at 6pm (which is usually packed and takes forever at other grocery stores)
Has a little salad bar set up with fancy olives etc, a soup to go station and a small hot meal to-go bar with like rice and fish and stuff like that (seems to be paused now for COVID)
Safe Bike parking rack outside etc. nice medium sized market and i will come back

So excited Urban Greens is open! I think the market is the perfect size - small enough that it's a quick shopping trip, but big enough to find everything you need for a recipe. I'm happy to see the mix of local / organic and more affordable conventional options. Love that you can bring your own container for bulk items.

I'm one that enjoys learning about herb and spices. For me to see this at was a joy come true. A very pleasing display that it is, I find it to be one of my favorite sections of the store.

Love this place. We try and go for our dinner supplies at least once a week. It's small but the food they carry is awesome and the prices are way better then chain stores. Fresh everything!

SHOP LOCAL AND SHOP SMALL ALWAYS!!! Massive grocery stores that take huge amounts of money and profits away from local communities every single day should no longer be supported. I always go here instead. They have everything I need. It is really not that much more expensive than a giant grocery store and I would rather give a few extra bucks to a Co op than a giant offshore corporation that just wants to siphon money away from smaller businesses.

All the staples you need, plus a lot of really interesting unique finds. Everything top quality. And their prepared foods are fantastic! Way better than anything at Whole Foods.

This is one of my favorite places to go grocery shopping. I usually bring my own containers to fill up on beans, lentils and nuts. Plus there's a refill station for herbs and spices. They offer composting outside the facility, earlier you needed a membership/to pay to put scraps and now you can add them for free! Everyone is very helpful in the store, not to forget they sell Narragansett yogurt here which is my fave! Bubble tea house and nice slice are just around the corner too! 😊

I LOVE this co-op so much! It's small, but it has almost everything I need. They have a FREE composting program, which I love since I'm not permitted to compost at my apartment. The people who work there are so friendly and kind, and it is honestly more affordable than any of the big chain groceries I used to shop at before I became a member. If you're low income you can get an FFA membership which has truly been a lifesaver/game changer for me. They have lots of plant-based and vegan options, as well as local meats and seafood. Makes it really easy and affordable to shop local! Their bulk section is also the best in Providence, as far as I know. Lots of nuts and grain options, and they also have a bulk section for spices and loose teas. I love and appreciate this co-op so much, thank you urban greens!

Jamie the front end supervisor or whatever her job description is, is absolutely amazing and an incredible asset.
She was very patient with helping me resolve my payment issue and because of that I ended up with a nice smile on my face.
Thank you Jamie ! Go have a coffee break ❤

I absolutely love Urban Greens! Discovering it was like finding a treasure chest in my backyard. They carry an amazing number of my favorite things, even though the store is small, and I discover other newly-favorite local products that I did not know about. To me, the products seem well and thoughtfully chosen. They also have beautiful plants, several of which are on my windowsill now. I've found the staff kind, helpful and genuinely friendly, which makes a visit there a real pleasure! :) It's a cooperative venture, and I chose to join after my very first visit. They offer a 5% discount twice a month to members now, and while that's great, I really joined because I think it's a venture so worth supporting. There's also a member plan for people who are struggling, which is a virtue and a sign of hope to me. Thanks so much, Urban Greens -- I am a total fan. A COVID19 note: I am extremely cautious about where I go in person, and I've felt quite safe here -- the staff have all been masked, it has not been crowded, and they also offer a morning hour for seniors and those at high risk (I think it is 7-8 a.m. weekdays, 8-9 Sunday mornings, but check their website to verify).

Been going to the co-op for over a year, and we love it there! Great place to get fresh produce, locally sourced meat and fish, and a wide range of products from local bakeries and florists. The staff is friendly and also diligent about upholding their safety policies like checking each customer's temperature and face covering, so we always feel safe going in.

The people who work there get to know you on a first name basis and whenever I shop there whether in person or calling ahead so my assistant can pick up is always very easy and top quality.

Love this spot! Not only do they give me a non-Amazon-owned option for groceries, but they have a super great selection and some cool features like a station to refill kombucha and a large bulk food section. You can get everything you need and feel good about supporting a local business.
