French Pastry Shop & Restaurant

We were there on a busy holiday weekend and despite being busy we were taken care of fantastically. The food was tasty, reasonably priced, and the place was warm and comfortable despite a dusting of snow and plenty of wind. A sign said "All pastries made with pure butter made fresh daily" and we believed it. Our meal was fresh, flakey, buttery, good!

It's centrally located near all the downtown hotels and easily walkable. We'll definitely be back when we stay in Santa Fe again.

For early-rising, East Coast visitors, early coffee options are limited. Luckily, this quaint, atmospheric and friendly coffee and pasty shop opens at 630a. They have a selection of pastries (sweet and savory ), quiche (the Chile Mushroom and Cheese is tasty) and crepe options. Coffee and tea are also available, and don’t forget to drink your water. Service was friendly and quick. I’d recommend this spot to stop for anyone.

They make animal pastries!! Perfect for sharing and parties. We ordered a bunch of dessert pastries to go with our coffee and they were delicious. St. Michel was my personal favorite.

The elevation in Santa Fe was wiping me out and all I wanted was a hot tea and a sweet. Was so happy to find the French Pastry Shop at La Fonda. The atmosphere was lovely and it was the perfect place to rest out of the sun and refresh.

The Chile Mushroom Quiche was amazing. My husband ate a Chorzio Crepe and enjoyed it very much. The coffee tasted great, and we ate the St Michel - best dessert in years!

Very popular bakery in downtown Santa Fe. We LOVED all the food we ordered: quiche, crepes, pastries and cakes. This was our 2nd visit, previously been a few years before and remembered it. Be patient. Waitstaff is nice. It is a very tiny bakery, so it can take awhile to get sat at a table because of it's popularity. Or just grab items to go.

Nestled in the charming ambiance of the pastry shop, our experience at the French Pastry shop and restaurant was delightful. The freshly made pastries we shared were not only delicious but truly captured the essence of French baking. Personally, the cream puff stole the show for me. The atmosphere transported us to Europe, creating a wonderful dining atmosphere. A definite recommendation for pastry lovers seeking an authentic taste and ambiance.

Perfect little patisserie. they specialize in crepes. The crepe with spicy chorizo sausage was great and the spinach version a delight. Their chocolate croissant is very fluffy.

I’ve been going here since 2007 and this place has always been consistently good. The Mushroom, Chicken and Spinach crepe is my favorite thing to get. Quiche is great too. Make sure you try one of their seasonal fresh fruit crepes as well. It is a small restaurant so the space is very tight but I honestly didn’t mind much at all

Zero Mellon fruit cup!! Amazing to find the best fruit cup I ever had in my life in this really fine pastry shop.

Great spot for an early breakfast. Food was delicious and the baked goods are out of this world. Street parking and a parking garage at the end of the street

Authentic french cuisine from pastry to crepes and best breads for your choice of sandwich. Be warned, suggest half sandwich the whole is a huge! Staff is the best.

Cute bistro - love the interior. Enjoyed the croque madame, quiche, pastries... opens super early as well and is a block off the plaza so landed there a couple of mornings for breakfast, coffee, and good people watching.
The pastries do sell out by mid afternoon so grab em early!

Very authentically tasty food. Enjoyed quality of the crepe. French onion soup was excellent. Savory crepes are not as good as dessert crepes mainly because of lack of volume and average taste. That being said, it's a great break from the local fair and would be happy to return to it again. The only suggestion is that the savory crepe fillings be a little bit more seasoned and dry as it tended to make the Crepes a little wet.

Best French onion soup ever, orange juice was very good too, but apple turn over was okay.

Love this french cafe. Its pastries are exquisite, and the atmosphere couldn't be better. During summer it gets very busy with all the tourists, it is a popular place. They prepare everything on a daily basis, which is what makes it so delicious. The counterpart to that is that, if you arrive later in the day, there may not be some of their pastries that they prepare, because they were already sold out, which can be disappointing.

Delicious food & treats. Prompt service. Quaint atmosphere but the music selection was “off” for this time of year

Stopped in for lunch and had some savory crepes with mushroom chicken, bechamel sauce, and spinach. They were good, but the highlight was dessert: we had some espresso and pastries and they were delightful. The atmosphere inside felt cozy and authentic- it reminded me of a bouchon I visited once in Lyon.

Tried the strawberry tart and black forest cake. The cake was super tasty and really nice to eat while sitting in the plaza. I'm not super into the crumbly type of filling the tart had, but it was tasty too. 'Bout $7 each.
