The Ginger Gourmet

Our new go-to Chinese and sushi place! We've gotten both lunch and dinner so far and are very impressed. Food is fresh, good quality, generous portions. The shrimp tempura is very lite and crunchy coating with sweet shrimp, the egg rolls are fresh made -not the frozen kind, the best crab ragoons ever and thick flavorful chicken teriyaki. Sushi is very well made, well above average for the area, we loved the Red Sox roll. The rice is New York style Chinese, so up to individual preference, but honestly we barely got to the rice with all the yummy food options. Each time I go in intending to take pictures of the food, but immediately forget at the sight of it 😋 Will be going back regularly!

Picked up lunch special shrimp broccoli with brown rice, chicken wings as add-on. Overall, it's a healthy choice. The sauce was light if not none. A lot of broccoli. Brown rice was perfectly cooked. If you are looking for healthy Chinese food, this is the one.

First visit, the food was decent for American Chinese. The service was great. Nice atmosphere and clean. When it comes to American Chinese it’s hard to impress me, the food is either subpar or decent ha ha. Would definitely visit again as my boyfriend likes this place and the sushi was decent too. If you are in town or passing through I recommend stopping in as I am confident you won’t be disappointed and likely impressed.

We frequently Ginger Gourmet a good amount. Both in-house and take out are always great. We picked up for take out on Christmas Eve at 6, it was hot and ready, and no wait to pick up. The food was great, and so were the prices on their special Christmas menu.

Very happy with our overall experience at Ginger Gourmet in North Reading! For drinks, we enjoy sitting at the bar and having either a mai tai or scorpion bowl for two. We had the General Gaus chicken combo special, beef lo mein and sushi. (Photos of sushi- Philadelphia and Spicy Tuna) The combination special has very generous portions and you will probably have leftovers. Highly recommend dining in or takeout/delivery.

This is my second time to come to this restaurant, the service is good, the environment is clean, I love the sushi here looks delicious, I will come again!

Ginger Gourmet is the best restaurant in North Reading. Best Service, best owner , best bartenders , best prices and a staff who cares. I ordered on New Years for a party of 30 and everything was hot, well priced , and delicious. If you haven’t stopped by for a drink and a meal, put it on your list! You won’t be disappointed! Make sure to try their Mai Tai and Chicken teriyaki!

This a New York Cantonese style place, although it does have some Thai and a fair number of Japanese dishes. We ordered Chinese takeout. It brought back memories of eating takeout food as a child in NYC. The only thing different was the carrots and peas in the fried rice. It was good, better though with bean sprouts (we didn't ask for it to be made that way). Salt and pepper calamari was milder than most, no jalapeños, but was excellent. Spicy chicken wings tasty,but too many broken bones. Portions generous to huge (the boneless ribs appetizer). Beef chow fun very good, it had lots of beef and did have bean sprouts. Shrimp and lobster sauce was more like a soup and didn't come with rice which it really needed. Good flavor. Not perfect but I really enjoyed it.

I’ve been occasionally having lunch here since an year now. I like it here.
Lunch menu is decent and straightforward.
The prices are reasonable.
Food is good enough.
Private and good ambience.
The menu clearly shows what’s raw and what’s not.
Staff is friendly.
I’ll keep coming here once in a while.

Great prompt service. I went in around noon time to have some quick and simple lunch with my family. Service was impeccable; they noticed my toddler in tow and offered ice water in a paper cup with straw and a lid for her. Super smart and my server was efficient and professional. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, but their $12 bentos was worth the purchase price. The food was flavorful so the value was there. I couldn't even finish my bento box. What more could you ask for?

Food was very good as usual and waiter was very nice. The only thing is we wish the waiter bringing our food and attending to us at the table had a mask on. We wore masks in and of course took them off at the table because the waitstaff always wore masks in the past. This time the waiter did not wear a mask which we would have appreciated it if he did just to be on the extra safe side.

Was so-so when I first moved to the area. Tried it again recently with “new management “ and was much better. Very fresh, nice staff there. Now we eat there more often. Great sushi and the sezchuan wontons with peanut sauce are insanely good.

Fast service and very attentive polite staff. Their scorpion bowl was awesome and food was very good. Not exactly my favorite way of cooking Chinese food but for most and myself still very good. The inside was inviting and very clean they have a few tvs to watch. Their bathroom was spotless. Prices were very responsible if not low. I would highly recommend this place!

They were so sweet and kind to special deliver sauces to our home. Doordash apparently has an option that omits the sauces. I was unaware and Ginger Gourmet was kind enough to deliver them right away! Anddd the foods delicious!

Food was excellent. We did take out and tlpur food was ready for us as soon as we arrived. The man who gave us our order was very friendly. Overall, great experience.

Well prepared food with a great variety and good sushi. Very pleasant and engaged staff，It's a prime location.

We get takeout sushi here about twice a month. Highly recommend. Great quality food at a decent price. Favorite restaurant in North Reading.
