Xochitl Cocina Mexicana

My friend and I visited for dinner last Friday and we loved it! Our waiter/bartender whose name I forgot (I’m sorry) was outstanding! He helped us with the menu, took our pictures, was extremely hospitable and gave great recommendations for places to go while in Tampa. The food was so good! I tried their birria tacos, a drink called “Como La Flor” (not pictured), and a Margarita whose name I also forgot but was really good. This is a great, inexpensive restaurant with nice art, good music, and in a great location. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to this place several times and the vibe is always amazing. One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. After trying the carnitas tacos that melt in my mouth, I don’t think I can eat them anywhere else, also I’m obsessed with their authentic tortilla chips and the queso that is to die for. They have in house made churros now, and they are incredible. I’m not a heavy drinker but even I can’t resist their drinks. The mojito is my favorite, you can tell the quality is higher than other bars. I have 0 complaints about the service, they are very quick and friendly. I’ve never seen a server with a long face or not eager to help you. They are also pet friendly outside, which I love. If you seat outside right before sunset, you’ll get some really nice views of the Tampa sky and you’ll thank me later. The owner and chef, Jaqueline, is a pleasure to talk to, you can tell she puts a lot of effort into this restaurant. If you are looking for a chill place to have a date or treat your friends with amazing food, this is it. Officially on my favorite Tampa list.

I have to say that whenever a new mexican style restaurant opens I am a bit hesitant to try out it, and let me say two words... handmade tortillas!
We tried a few appetizers, tacos and drinks. The bone marrow app was unique and juicy. The pico de gallo is chunky, fresh and will leave you wanting more. The pork belly was perfect. The tacos (Carnitas, Asada, Pork belly, Summer Squash and Chorizo) they were all very good, but my favorites were the Asada and Chorizo.
As for drinks we had the red sangria and mango lime margarita both very good, not too sweet and not too overpowering that you felt you wouldnt make the drive home!
Overall, a great restaurant and I am looking forward to coming back and trying more of the food.

Food is delicious and serving is appropriate. Me and my mom went to TGH and decided to eat here. Environment is combination of retro and modern artwork. Color combinations in food and on the wall is majestic. I will come back to Xochitl in night to experience the night life.

5 stars for the Hennessy Margarita, Dessert Platter and Frida & Diego. The owner Jackie personally made the drinks, we were not disappointed and she greeted our table. Fun and friendly environment.

Xochitle is the best local hidden gem of modern Mexican deliciousness. The chip trio was awesome, carnitas burro amazing, birria tacos unbelievable!! El chapo jalapeño margarita 🔥🔥🔥 but aside from the food, the ambience was fun, casual, and romantic. Service was great and welcoming. We met the owner Jacquelyn and through our short conversation we can see the passion she has for her food. Xochitle is SO CHILL! We will be back again soon and recommending to family and friends! Can’t miss out on this Mexican gem!

We tried the carne asada and carnitas tacos, everything was fresh and tasty. Tacos come 3 to an order. It was great to sit outside and enjoy the evening, service was amazing! We happened to be there with a puppy and our server brought her fresh water with ice. He never neglected us being outside, checked on us multiple times.

Amazing chips and queso. The location is great and the atmosphere was on point. If you like spicy, try the jalapeno margarita.

This place exceeded our expectations. Everything about it was excellent. Some of the best chips and guacamole I've had in a while. Plus, the cauliflower tacos and burrito were better than we were expecting. Crowd was way down because of the pandemic, so that was an added bonus for us.

A bit trivial, but one of the best things for me was at the end when they took our payment like they do in Europe - right at the table with no paper.

Laid-back atmosphere, extremely friendly service, and well-crafted menu items. The cucumber margarita is to DIE FOR.

My wife and I and 3 more couples went there late in the night and there was no food service as it was already late, but we were really just looking for a place to have a few drinks and have fun. Well, the drinks were pretty good, but the DJ made the night for us, as she was playing a great salsa lineup and had us all dancing. I would recommend this place when hanging out at Armature works if you are looking for a place to have fun with friends.

Came in to check this place out based on my friends telling how amazing the food is and craving nachos. Well my friends were right, the food here is amazing, portions are perfect, and the service is on point. I definitely can’t wait to come back and try more items on the menu. I had the steak nachos and shrimp tacos with a side of the bean, rice, & roasted corn.

Wondered across this place bc the sign was bright pink and little did I know they were going to have Hennessey margaritas (which is rare trust me I look for henny specialty drinks everywhere). And they were nice to us at the end of the night close to closing time (also rare). So we went back a week or so later (different staff) and tried the tacos and trio appetizer (also more margaritas) and again not too long before they closed, and the food and service was great. We already told a few ppl about this place. We would def go back.

Excellent local place. Great atmosphere, incredible food, creative drinks, local art - the whole package. The owner came to ask us about our experience and it made it all the better; it’s refreshing to see someone who cares so much about their business and have them encourage feedback. Just honestly a great place and can’t wait to come back.
