Awesome shop able to do basically whatever you need done for your automobile. I had been all around Athens looking for someone to install a set of shocks and could not find a reliable shop. But Hops was able to take care of my vehicle at timely and affordable fashion!

Hop has been great to us. After a long search and purchasing a surprise classic for my wife, I had her 1951 truck secretly delivered from Texas to Hop's shop. While I had a Texas mechanic evaluate the truck pre-purchase, Hop gave it another thorough review and found issues that our previous mechanic had missed. I had ideas for what I wanted improved and Hop guided me as to whether they were good, bad or unnecessary while also making suggestions to greatly improve the truck for our use. I never felt pressured by Hop and appreciated that he took ownership of the work as if it was a gift for his wife. He proved that he's an expert mechanic in a niche field. Despite a few challenges in getting parts for a 1951 vehicle in the middle of COVID, Hop made sure it was delivered on time and always guaranteed his work.

Hop’s Speed Shop is a classic Speed Shop and custom car garage. A place where you can get the special attention your classic ride deserves. Hop took my ‘67 El Camino from tired to a trophy winning daily driver, which I have been driving for over a year now.
All the work was done at Hop’s from paint and body to complete interior as well as complete engine and transmission conversion. Engine work included rebuilding the original 283 and adding electronic fuel injection.
Love the work and driving the El Camino!
Thanks Hop!

Mr. Hopps worked on my 1982 collector edition corvette. No one else could make it run like it should. I put an LT1 converted to a 383 stroker with a 700r tranny. Mr. Hopps does not bull crap you. He is a honest man and he got my car running like I always wanted. I paid other shops to get it running right and no one could do it but would charge me for there failure. NOT HOPPS SPEED SHOP!! They are awesome. 100% stand behind them.

Good quality works guys there know what there doing and they treat you right most honest shop in the area especially if you have only older vehicles like me the communication and level of professionalism is amazing it's not the cheapest shop in town but that's what you get either you get one or the other I've learned me personally I would rather have good communication and a good technician that knows what he's doing and stays to his alotted time frame instead of paying less and someone keeping my car a month I will definitely only bring my 80s cars here

Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Stay far away. Super shotty work. This is is one example of all the “rust repair” that was done at this shop. 90% of the welds still had the stick welds remaining. And rather than cutting out the rust, they just sandwiched another piece of metal on top of it.

Paid for a sandblasting. Clearly was never done. They just sprayed black paint over a dirt, oil and rust on the frame. A total of $7000 wasted and now have a real restoration shop finishing my Bronco. I’ve paid so much money to redo all the garbage work this shop has done. Beware when taking your car here.

Paid $2,400 to have a self tuning fuel injection system installed on my classic car because the car was running to rich on gas. After multiple attempts of towing the car home AFTER the owner said that the new unit was working correctly, I decided to have them remove the system and reinstall my carburetor back on my car. Hope had four attempts to get it right. Then he parked my car outside for days. This is a fully restored 73 slit bumper camaro that won several awards at local car shows The owner gave me a refund of ONLY $1,500. I guess it was partly my fault for their lack of mechanical skills. I drove the car into the shop with the trans shifting fine. Now the transmission is missing gears and had to be towed home. UNREAL!!! HORRIBLE TRANSACTION!!!!! Got the car home and noticed that they removed my chrome radiator cap and polished power steering cap. They replaced them both with cheap plastic replacements. Not sure if the owner was aware that his employees stole parts from my car. UNREAL EXPERIENCE!!!!
