Emerge Gallery & Art Center

Emerge is the home of Pitt County's Art Council and it is an incredible asset to the community.

Aside from its role as a gallery, which provides artists and organizations an important opportunity to showcase their work. Emerge also serves several other critical roles within the community...

A place to take art classes, for both adults and children, (specifically amazing summer camps!)

An intimate venue for local musicians.

A crucial linchpin organization in ensuring that the arts are are strong part of the Pitt County community...

An amazing gift shop, a great place to book an event or a nice stop on an afternoon exploring uptown Greenville.

If you have not already had a chance to visit, I highly recommend a pop-in. Especially on a First Friday on a month when the new exhibitions are on display.

We held our staff retreat here and had a great time learning handbuliding together! Gail is a great teacher and is very supportive. Check out their website to see what packages they offer. We chose the package with a two hour art lesson plus 1 hour in a private meeting space. They offer these packages for anyone and I can assure you it's a great experience for coworkers. Emerge was very fun, accommodating, and professional!

The boys (and I) took classes at Emerge this summer which have been a lot of fun. Quality teachers and great project ideas for the children. I feel, as someone who went to College for Art, that the instruction is top-notch🤩

I love this place! Local artists line the walls and cabinets. When you shop at Emerge, you are supporting local artists.

I have taken many art classes at Emerge and was part of the pottery community that used the ceramic studio in the back. I spent the better part of a year making fish-scale tiles with which I tiled my kitchen backsplash. I loved working at the studio!

I can't wait for the in-person art classes to return!

Shows change regularly, they always have a reception on First Friday Artwalk (every month, rain or shine!).
In addition to regularly rotating schedules, they sell work by local artists. The work is well priced and great for yourself or gifting to another, and when you buy, you're contributing to the local economy, and helping both established artists as well as student artists.

They have a holiday market that is November thru December, plus shows and markets for other holidays during the year, like Valentine's Day.
In addition to the gallery, the learning facilities are wonderful. They have ceramics and metals studios where anyone can take classes and they have wonderful summer and after school programs for children.

Finally, the Director of this establishment also teaches classes to ECU students on the business of running an art business.

Overall, a really great place to learn more about art and craft, and to hang out on First Friday.

Sip, Savor and Create
For Valentine's Day was Great. Making pottery for the first time was definitely a lot harder than originally thought. The folks here are fantastic.

The staff is great and friendly. The classes (especially pottery) are interactive, fun, and I feel like I learn a lot. The experience is worth the buck and the artists that contribute to the gallery are talented! Great to visit and definitely check out their website for events that are going on!

Emerge is actually....AWESOME! My daughter attended a youth program hosted by ECU there and what a fantastic setting and overall cool place! The artwork was beautiful, unique and not outrageously priced from what I saw! Reid at the front counter was super knowledgeable, perky and happy tonbe there and assist me with questions. Will be back to browse, shop and participate in class. ***BONUS*** The Youth Arts Festival at Town Commons was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR!

I love how they have local artists and even local school have their art shown here. I enjoyed walking through the gallery and looking at all the pieces.

I love Emerge an their staff. My oldest has done camp and loves it, I’ve taken pottery classes and we attend many of their special events throughout the year. Membership is definitely worthwhile.

Great classes for everyone! They always have a great rotation of classes for kids, teens and adults.. this is my favorite thing about Emerge. Jewelry making, pottery, painting, photography.. all bases covered. Lots of neat handmade items by local artists for looking at or purchase here also.

First Friday art walks are my favorite. And Emerge always has something interesting going on.

Such a wonderful art center, everyone should go there and buy presents for all occasions from a local business!
