The Peddler Steak House

When we first arrived and we were told a table would be over an hour and a half we were skeptical. But we drove over an hour just to try them out. We were not disappointed! The drinks were were perfect. The steaks were cooked to perfection and delicious. I did not care for the dessert (creme brulee) but certainly didn't let that ruin my night. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. I highly suggest enjoying an evening here if you have the time.

Food was fantastic. We showed up 30 minutes before they opened and there was a line down the sidewalk. The atmosphere was great. Even though the restaurant was busy it wasn’t loud and still felt intimate. We had steak and chicken with baked potato and salad bar. Highly highly recommend

We have ate here 3 years in a row on my Dad's birthday. We lost Dad in 2020 and 2 of my siblings live at the coast and my brother and I live in the foothills so we meet there to keep his memory alive.
Food and service is always top notch and they have a fantastic salad bar and great selection of beef to choose from.

Easily our favorite steakhouse in the area. Amazing service and excellent dining. It simply doesn't get any better. Highly recommended.

This was my first experience at the Peddler Steak House. I loved it! It was the best service. My drink was delicious, and the steak..omg. seasoned perfectly, juicy and tender. I am in love. My uncle had the salad and he enjoyed every bit of it. We both had to stop ourselves from eating the steak to save some for later. Will be returning!

This place is amazing! It was my first time there and my husband hasn’t been there in a long time. I took him for his birthday. Our waitress was awesome, the bartender when I sat at the bar waiting for my husband and a table was awesome. The hostess was awesome from beginning to end! The food was amazing and tender. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. This was a pleasant and amazing experience! I will definitely be back! I’ve tried almost every steakhouse in Raleigh but they definitely far exceeded all of them!!

This beautiful restaurant is one of my local favorites. Always a perfectly cooked and flavourful steak dinner. You should always expect a wait no matter the day or time due to the size of the restaurant and, of course, the meal. The staff really do their best to accommodate.

Greeted by the kindest hostess who offered her favorite dishes. This was our first visit of many to come!! The setting was perfect for a weeknight dinner, and Deija easily recommended her favorites on the menu. Let’s talk salad bar! So many fresh and delicious options… a meal in itself. I had the highly recommended blackened salmon (medium), which was the best I’ve ever had. Everything was full of flavor!!

I now truly understand why this traditional steak house is so popular. The wait was about an hour, the food was fantastic and our wait person was the best. This place was one of my favorite food experiences.

Best steak I’ve ever had!! Ive had the filet and the prime rib and they’re delicious. Never had better, and you can have them bring out choices of meat to the table and cut it for you. Great staff and a separate bar area as well. Low light , white table cloth atmosphere. It’s a must try

Prime rib was tender and delicious. It was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked.

Salad bar was fresh with lots of options. My partner said his chicken breast was delicious.

The steamed veggies were fresh and crisp and served in generous portions.

Our server Lisa was sweet and attentive.

The only negative of the evening was people smoking cigarettes within a few feet of the door near the outside seating where we were waiting for our table - a designated smoking area farther from the entrance would be nice.

My wife and I showed up at around 6 without a reservation-not sure they take them there. We were told the wait was about an hour and so we waited at the bar. The place is old and according to a couple we met at the bar, basically unchanged since the 1970s. This was fine by us as it did have a nice vibe and was dimly lit. After a few drinks we were called to our table after about 40 minutes. We each ordered the filet mignon which you can get from 6oz on up. Just tell them what size. Every meal comes with an unlimited salad bar which was a nice touch and fantastic. I also ordered the French onion soup which was one of the best I've ever had. Not too salty and actually had a sweetness to it. When the steaks finally came-we waited a bit but it wasn't bad-they were cooked to perfection. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed them with a sweet potato on the side. One of the best steaks we've ever had. So 4 drinks, filet mignon and the salad bar was roughly $135 before tip. Honestly less than what we expected. Overall it was top notch and well worth the trip.

**Food:**
The food was great. I had the Porterhouse and my wife had the Ribeye steak with a sweet potatoe. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. The asparagus was just alright, but the rest of the food was delicious. The salad bar was also enjoyable with all your favorite toppings.

**Service:**
The service was very friendly. Our waiter was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He also gave us some good recommendations for food and wine.

**Atmosphere:**
The atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant is not very big inside, but there were no bad seats in the house. The decor was classic and the lighting was dim, which created a cozy atmosphere.

**Overall, we had a great experience at The Peddlers Steakhouse. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.**

One of my favorite places to eat in Raleigh. Salad bar is awesome. Steaks are great. Service is spectacular. Atmosphere is quaint. Locally owned. And super perfect for any occasion. Wonderful folks.

The ribeye steak here was fantastic and the prices can't be beaten the area. Unless you want to go to one of those flavorless chain restaurants. Our waitress was very friendly, courteous and fast. I will definitely be dining here again.

Don’t let the exterior fool you. They have the best steaks, the grilled bread is to die for, the pimento cheese amazing and my favorite part is the salad bar!! My only complaint is there are no steak accompaniments like bernaise, red wine sauce, Oscar style, etc.

And btw, when I say the best steaks, we’ve had them all in the Raleigh area: Rey’s, Angus Barn, The Oak, Capital Grill, J Alexander’s, Sullivan’s…. The Peddler’s steaks have the best flavor.

Recently visited for an evening meal and we were very pleased! The food was great- especially the steak and salad bar! The toasted bread was different and memorable. After a bit of a wait, our service was good too. Would definitely return for another special occasion.

The food was great, best salmon I've in awhile. My friend order the Porterhouse steak and he too was satisfied. Everything is fresh and having a visual of the kitchen is a bonus. Staff is friendly and very courteous.

Great experience, can’t wait to return! Steaks were cooked perfect, love the atmosphere, and one of the best salad bars in town.
