Sandcastle Tools - Things to do South Padre

Wanted to throw away the plastic kiddie molds I used so many years with my boys, and improve my castle building skills. So I purchased Andy's kit. It's those stainless steel tools I really wanted.

After 4 days of building and figuring out the Florida sand (takes a ton of water), I was able to get the basics down, and improved with each structure.

Once you get it down, be ready for everyone to stop and talk about it, and make pictures. And yes, kids will want to tear them down when finished. I feel sorry for some kids one night. Their toes are surely hurting after attempting to merely take it down. Would have loved to see their face when they kicked that solid (concrete-like) structure. 🤣

Great time with the new tools, and can't wait for the next trip. Bigger and better!!

Our family spent a wonderful morning with Andy last summer getting a sand castle building lesson. Our kids ranged from 4-12 and we were a bit concerned whether they would remain engaged the whole 2 hours but it was no problem at all. Andy is so personable and tailored his lesson to the age/skill level of the kids and made it interesting for all the adults too. Kids and adults alike LOVED the lesson. He was even kind enough to loan us buckets to practice our new skills for the rest of our visit at South Padre. We wouldn't hesitate to do this again! Money well spent!!

This tool kit has absolutely everything that we need! It has so many tools and gadgets. Shipping was quick and communication was great! Andy was wonderful explaining some tips and tricks. He took his own time to answer our questions. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Andy, his lessons, or this kit!

I have really enjoyed the news tools. They are sturdy and have held up well to my use. I like that they are stainless so they are not rusting from the exposure to the sea water. Andy gave us great advice, even from afar. He helped us figure out what tools we needed and got them to us in time for our trip. The tools are outstanding quality, the best we’ve ever used. His tips on Sandcastle building were invaluable and resulted in amazing fun family time. Highly recommended, can’t say enough good things about them!

Whenever I go to South Padre Island I rent the tools from Andy Hancock. He always includes all sizes of the buckets needed, plenty of buckets for water, enough shovels for everyone to have one and of course the wonderful tools we use to carve the sandcastle. Have taken the lessons from him in the past and that has given my family a basic skill which we will always have and fantastic days at the beach building castles. This has given us many days of entertainment and together activities. I encourage any family or group of friends to take his class will give you skills to use forever. What is so much fun is that every time we build sandcastles people take pictures, post them on Facebook and give us compliments. Renting the tools from Andy is so much easier than lugging big buckets in our vehicle whenever we visit South Padre Island and gives us an opportunity to visit with Andy which is always a highlight of our trip.
