Johnny Rockets

This is my first time in South Padre Island, and let me say I will literally live here just for me to eat these flipping burgers. This was the BEST thing to ever be in my mouth, I feel like a changed person. I will always compare every burger I will eat in my life to Johnny Rocket’s burgers. 100/10 would recommend to eat here :D

Excellent service. Our food was yummy and fast. Our waitress checked on us often and kept our drinks full. Fun diner vibe. You can sit at the counter and watch them make the meals. Restrooms were clean.

Gourmet burger joint with a retro diner vibe. Open kitchen layout. Everything comes with fries. The smokehouse and bacon cheddar burgers are recommended. The rocket burger is also popular. The fries were hot and crispy perfection.

They have vegan milkshakes with coconut whipped creme! They also have vegan cheese for the burgers. And gluten free buns.

They can easily handle a group of twelve, maybe more if you call ahead.13 stools at the counter, plus three chairs. High table for eight, four high table for four, 11 booths for four, 7 tables for two, two larger booths for six. Easily 100 seats packed in to this strip mall location.

Spent a couple days on the island. Enjoy dinning here. Preciously visited in another trip. Great salads and burgers. Had I not wanted to check my calories a shake would have been amazing.

First time eating at JRs. Bacon Cheddar double burger was delicious. Those beef patties were the star of the burger! Wasn't over seasoned and comes w out condiments. You can really appreciate that seared beef taste. Tossed in some tots and a root beer, and it was over like that. Will try again here in SATX

I love Johnny Rockets It is a great burger joint and I love their style something I enjoy is the milkshakes I can't wait to be back in South Padre to enjoy some Johnny Rockets at the beach everything on the menu is great food and taste recommended to the ones that have not been here.

Literally food here was delicious we were so hooked we kept going back during our weekend getaway here! The plant based burger saved my life and the shakes were so addicting! Service was always amazing each time we went!

First time here with the fam. Easy to find. The staff was friendly, the decor nice and the menu was good sized. We all tried different dishes so as to try a variety of flavors. Everything was delicious! We didn't have a single bad item in our six person order. Everybody was satisfied.
The salads were huge and the burgers were filling. The chili cheese dog was good too.

We wanted to try something we didn't have back home. It has an old classic burger joint look inside. The service was good and so was the food. I had the Route 66 Double with some bacon cheese fries. Good place to stop and eat. I'll make sure to visit when I'm in town again.

Same ol Johnny Rockets that I remember from years and years ago. A juicy, delicious "Original" burger, plenty of condiments, filtered water. We tried to eat out on a Saturday night here on SPI and the wait was 60 minutes, an hour and a half, ugh, another line out the door, but at Johnny Rockets, no line, no waiting, and quick service. Win, win, win.

Best burger I've had in a while. The food came out and was fresh off the grill. After having a few meals on the island that were lukewarm at best, having this steaming hot burger and fries was a very welcome chance. Great job Johnny Rockets. Wish we had a location close to home.

Went in at 9:45pm, 15 minutes before closing. They were great. No hurry up. Best burger on island. Cold stuff cold and crisp. Hot stuff still sizzling. Great service from Jacqueline. Gotta try the $1.80 upgrade to bacon cheese fries. I am sure that as good for you as tasty.

M-F they have $6.99 platters from 11am-4pm.

We got the food to go. A bit slower than the website stated to complete the order, but the extra wait was minimal. Good burger. It's not the best on the island, but it's reasonably priced. We've been almost every trip down here, so obviously, we are happy here. Accurate order completion and friendly staff. The website could use some updates, like adding condiments (my daughter wanted ranch dressing with her onion rings). It's easy enough to ask for it in store, however.

I love this place. Every time I go there the service is great and the staff is so kind and friendly. Yes, the prices are a little high for a burger, but I feel like you can taste a huge difference between these and McDonalds. For me personally, it's totally worth it. And it's a nice place to get a meal without having to cram into a tiny beachside bar and wait over an hour for food. It's a nice change of pace, especially when there's bad weather! Thanks!

Saw the sign for burgers and shakes, hooked a violent left turn into the lot. GREAT decision! Shakes were amazing, burger was perfect, and my chicken sandwich was to die for, and hard to eat since I destroyed a plate of bacon cheese tots before it made it to the table. Gisela took good care of us as well. I Highly recommend coming here as soon as possible!
