Bayside Cafe

This was the best catfish I have ever had!!! The pieces were big and cooked to perfection!! The fish batter was so good and different. The coleslaw had the slight sweetness to it and made it taste great! MARG was the best waitress I've ever had. She was so kind and made us feel so welcomed, so it made our experience much better! Can't wait to come back! 8 stars in my book!!

A fantastic cafe! One of my top picks for dining in the valley. The Patty Melts are excellent, and the staff is outstanding. There is a lot of homemade cuisine, and it definitely shows.

Went for pick up during covid - easy to order on phone, very pleasant staff - family atmosphere. Food was ready when we got there. Hot food packaged with hot and cold food - salads - separate bag. Place is located right off the main road into Laguna across from park. They are only doing take out. Hand sanitizers located at door - all in masks. The place is not big . Looked like some wonderful desserts in bakery case. One of our friends loves their hamburgers for lunch so we thought we would try the dinner special. They have a different one each night. Tonight was prime rib. I like mine rare and husband likes it medium rare. The cut is 14oz. Came with salad with dressing, roll and butter, delicious twice baked potatoes with cheese and bacon, bacon seasoned fresh green beans and a slice of pie with whipped cream for around $30 a person. Prime rib was juicy, it is not trimmed so you do get that tasty fat with the meat. Would certainly try again.

Sandy & Marge are awesome. Extremely friendly and even a bit sarcastic. We love this little gem. Food is always good and almost too much. Clean atmosphere with a quaint homey feel. Will continue to come back.

Its like eating at your favorite auntie's house for dinner. Really quaint and almost charming! The food wasn't the best or worst I've had. Big portions! 14 oz prime rib, salad, green beans, twice baked potato, and apple pie (smallest portion). The staff was friendly and accommodating!!!

Warm, friendly, and homely small-town cafe, offering the usual American and Mexican fares the Rio Grande Valley is known for. The portions are generous, the prices reasonable, and the staff is attentive. Worth a stop for a coffee, a quick bite, or a proper meal!

Lovely small diner with waitresses that are very accommodating. Servings are very large !! Food was good and we would eat here again 😋

Great pancake breakfast. Snack and cozy. Going to be my new breakfast place. Be warned, the pancakes are huuuuge. I got the 2 pancake 3 egg and sausage plate. Couldn't finish it. One with 2 eggs will do. But if you have a big appetite, it won't disappoint. Can't wait to try their biscuits and gravy.

We found this little restaurant through a review I read. We decided to go in for a Reuben. We're so glad we did. It's the best we've ever had. It's filled with corn beef and so delicious. The potato salad is yummy too.

Great prime rib and catfish

Google search was spot-on recommending Bayside Cafe. Went here for lunch and it was busy. Not so much we couldn't find a table, though. Our food was delicious, and the desserts were so tasty. Be patient, and they will treat you right. There is a reason this is a local favorite!!

Amazing food. We had lunch there and everything was fresh and tasted great. Service was outstanding. Felt like I was at home in my grandmother's kitchen.

Food is good and their prices as well. A nice welcome feeling inside restaurant. I like the special on Wednesdays, comes with a salad and dessert!

The owner was attentive and so sweet! Had the traditional club sandwich and it was on point, so delicious. Iced tea was perfectly brewed. Lovely place, a must visit for those passing through or living in the area.

If you love good home cookin' then you'll love the food at the Bayside Cafe. Plus, the ladies who run the place make you feel like you are dining at home! A cozy, family-friendly atmosphere and GREAT FOOD!!! They have weekly specials. Today, Friday was catfish for lunch (or dinner). Served with hush puppies, fries and coleslaw. Excellent food! Other times when we've eaten here, we've enjoyed their meatloaf, a Reuben sandwich, Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, chicken-fried-chicken, Caesar salad, beef dip, and taco salad. Last, but not least, they make their own cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls and blackberry & peach cobbler. You're missing out if you don't try it out!!! Connie

Friendly service. Great food. Friday night special is 14 oz prime rib. It is delicious. My husband had Philly Steak sandwich. Said it was one of the best he's ever had.
