Great workout by taking the Laurel Woods Trail. There is a 7.5-mile loop and a 12 mile loop. There are lots of ups and downs that will get your blood pumping. There are other short trails as well, Good hiking park that is very similar to the terrain Nashville's Warner system, but more secluded and a bit denser forest.

Did a combo of the back 6 on the outer loop and front loop of the North Laurel trail in order to work up to full outer miles. The newish outside upper trail section is nice and flat and almost otherworldly in a barren sense. It is after all Beaman’s high point! Enjoyed the road less traveled. We did end up doing as much as we would have, save 1 lone mile. The creeks were running and cool for knee rehab! As always it’s a personal favorite.

Looking forward to Thursdays Hike a thon.

Finished the Henry Hollow Loop and Laurel Woods Trail (10-12 miles in total) today. The whole thing took about 5 hours. The trail is very uppy-downy and harder than it looks. Start early, take plenty of water and snacks. There were entire sections of the trial (especially deeper in) with not a single person. The trails are dog-friendly. There were about 5 water crossings (pretty shallow). I counted 4 downed trees on the trail that I had to either walk around or climb over. Apply bug spray and beware of ticks. The park is beautiful!

The videos are my artistic expression of what I experienced. These are the soundtracks I was listening to as I was taking it all in. I wanted you to experience what I saw the same way I did.

Absolutely beautiful park. I love where the power lines run through on the back side, and it really opens up!

This was a beautiful place. I walked the 2-mile Henry Hollow Loop Trail. There was some elevation but overall an easy-moderate hike. There are other options for trails as well, including a 6 and 12-mile loop. Leashed dogs are allowed. There are trail maps available by the Creekside Trailhead.

Great park for a nice day hike. 20 minutes from downtown Nashville. 3 mile, 7 mile and 12 mile+ trails.

Beautiful, peaceful place to hike. I especially like the trail that runs beside the creek.

Wow!!!!!! What a gorgeous park. Fall colors are superb. Lots of parking. AMAZING hiking trails with moderate difficulty - hills, roots, lots of rocks. Wear a good pair of boots if you plan to hike. One Porta potty, a few picnic spots. Very nice. Open dawn til dusk.

Fantastic peaceful park. Had time to kill before our flight home later that day and googled nature parks. This popped up, looked interesting and so wr wrmt. Heather was wonderfully full of info and answered all our questions plus some. She also directed us to a nice short nature hike that was beautiful and full of wild flowers. Should I ever get to return to Nashville I am going to return and hike more trails!

Walked part of the Creekside Trail this past weekend. Stunning views, lovely spring flowers, inviting shallow, flat-rock-bottomed creek, several multi-generational families enjoying an afternoon with the kids and grandkids. All in all, a fine way to spend an afternoon!

Beautiful area, nice trails both up the creek and there is a 7 Mile loop on the top. Plenty of parking, was not too crowded, although I expect it would be on the weekends and holidays. Trails are extremely well marked.

Beautiful place to hike. We take the Creekside trail to see the pretty stream then take the Ridge Trail to the top. Then we go down the Henry Hollow Loop which is around 2 miles. Going this way, you start on the basically flat Creekside and go up the Ridge Trail via switchbacks which seems an easier climb than going the opposite direction. There are no switchbacks the other direction so you are going straight up the hill which will give you a good cardio workout and beautiful views at the end.

This is a beautiful area right near the city. After a few minutes on the trail you stop noticing city sounds and actually feel the nature. This is a great walk when you don’t have time to get to a bigger hike. This is a great hike for non-hikers that’s just a little more than an accessible walk. The trail is that sweet spot between hike and walk. The main trail is about a 2.5 mile loop. I took it slow with a 4 year old and 6 other friends with mixed hiking experience/ability. The trail was not too crowded and there was pretty good shade throughout.

Great trails to hike. We loved that they're not paved. We prefer natural trails. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place to hike! The Creekside Trail follows the bank of the beautiful Horton Creek that is shallow with a smooth rock bottom. There is easy access to the water. On the opposite side huge bluffs overlook the stream. Rock formations of limestone and shale are common along the trails. The park is a favorite hiking area in the spring because of the huge variety of wildflowers including some on the endangered list.
All 3 trails are listed as moderate, and we found that to be accurate. There are exposed roots and the conditions can be very slippery after a rain. The trails have many narrow sections where hikers have to be considerate and allow others to pass.
Dogs on leashes are allowed, but be sure your dog is physically fit enough to handle the hike. Please be kind and pick up after your dog.
A hiking stick is helpful because of the terrain.
Beaman Park is much less crowded than Warner Parks.
IMO the areas we hiked are not very handicap accessible past the Initial Creekside Trail entrance off Little Marrowbone Rd. It’s also not stroller friendly. We saw backpacker baby carriers being used.
We love the park and will return. Next time we will try the entrance next to the Nature Center.

This park is beautiful and the trails are well cared for. It’s a bit strenuous at times but if you take the steep parts slow it isn’t too bad.
We were able to hike this trail with our two kids and our dogs.
This park also has a lot of events throughout the year that are worth checking out!

The trails are excellent for hiking and running. Nice to have access to a longer trail like the 12 mile loop.
