We kissed a lot of frogs before going with L&M. Two great things about this firm if you are a small business: 1) they are a one-stop shop for all things bookkeeping / accounting; 2) their professional knowledge and expertise far exceeds the other accounting professionals we have worked with. My only regret is that I gradually hired them on for various services. Looking back, I should have gone all in with L&M and dropped my other vendors immediately. We have hired L&M for bookkeeping services, tax returns, and tax representation against the IRS. They have provided outstanding results with each of these services. I have referred a number of friends and colleagues to L&M.

The team at L&M have been incredible to work with!! Mike and Kathleen came through for our small family business when time was of the essence. We appreciate all that they’ve done in such a timely manner. 🙌🏼

I really struggled with whether to leave a review or not because Mike is wonderful. He is accommodating, personable, knowledgeable...and he has done an amazing job on my returns for the last several years. Unfoetunately, the office manager Alexis is absolutely inept. Not only has she mistakenly sent me emails intended for other clients that contained their personal information and passwords for their returns, but my ID, which has been on file for several years, mysteriously made its way out of my file, and the final straw is that I provided bank information for direct deposit and she completely disregarded it and filed my return to be mailed to me. As we all know, in this trying time, as hours are cut in many of our jobs, these refunds, combined with the stimulus, will be crucial in keeping many of us afloat. I am extremely disappointed with her lack of professionalism and complete lack of regard for detail and client needs.

Very displeased with this company. I used this business to file my taxes on the recommendation of a friend. I had no idea that anything was amiss until I started getting letters that my taxes had not been filed. When I questioned Katie about it, she assured me (argued with me) that it had been filed in a timely manner. I requested electronic receipts of the filings, she finally admitted that she had not filed 2021, and filed an extension for 2022. This caused much financial and emotional stress, that I am still working out currently.

In past years, I have appreciated Mike doing my taxes, in person. Covid 19 changed that. However, this year was differernt. March 5th, I turned over my paper work. Having called twice, it was explained to me why my tax preparation was not ready. Surely, it would be ready in 5 weeks, so I went into the waiting room, only to be told it was not. Adam called later & said he did not have all the information he needed. I gave the information to the receptionist (by phone) & she shortly thereafter, called to say my tax prep was ready.
If face to face is not done with Mike in 2022, I will not be returning for the following reasons: Adam carried over the 2019 tax schedule with the same type of error made in 2019 (1st & 2nd quarter have the same date). Regarding cash contributions, Adam changed 3 of the names from correct to incorrect listings. Lastly, with a tax refund forthcoming, my paper check will be going to an address (house) which I sold in 2020. Hopefully, Mike was able to make the proper change (or the post office may).
For the previous reasons, I will not be returning in 2022 because I would not want the likes of Adam Dowlen making a mess of my information.
