Amazing place! I used primarily for lumber and cuts for my elevated dog bed and stairs. By the end of the project, the whole store was cheering for my success. It was my first carpentry project and I had tons of questions and lots of mistakes that needed new boards. Everyone was patient and helpful. I am on my second bed!

Seriously these folks are great. I have had my fair share of experiences walking into hardware stores as a woman and getting talked down to and told I don’t know what I’m talking about. That has never once happened here. Someone is always around to help and prices are super reasonable too. Highly recommend.

The best neighborhood hardware store, in Chicago! Great place that will more likely than not have all you need for your project or home. Give them a shot before going to Home Depot or Lowes.

Best place in the area for paint needs. I only needed a small amount of paint for touch-up but was treated like a contractor about to spend thousands. Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly to a fault. Still shocked at how perfectly they were able to match the color from the small sample I had brought with me. Highly recommended business.

Walked in 10 minutes before closing. After apologizing to one of the associates. I named items I needed. 7 foot 2.25 ranch molding, plastic wood, paint caulk, floor transituon... and others. He and I grabbed all the items, and we were checked out at 5:00. No way you can get that kind of service or find your merchandise that quickly in a big box store! Crafty Beaver is for pros who want good products efficiently and dependably.
(They really need to open a branch store in St Petersburg. Rotate employees and never lose staff, no competition of anything comparable.)

Crafty Beaver is the best. They have free parking across the street and so many product options in the store.

I am so glad for this place, I had a project I was working on and they had a good lumber selection and helped me cut it up for a reasonable fee. All I had to do was give them the measurements I had. They were very helpful and they did it quickly and for a reasonable price!

Helpful, knowledgable, and genuine people. A good selection of typical things you'd look for in a neighborhood hardware store. The lumber selection is pretty good, too, and the cuts they do (for a fee) are substantially better than big box stores. If they don't have something, folks I've talked to are more than happy to refer you to another local store that might help. My go-to for all hardware and projects.

I had ordered a large order of soil to be delivered as a ship to store, and everybody who helped me with pickup was awesome! Told me exactly where I needed to go to load up. Patrick and Sam even helped me load my vehicle. Would absolutely go back!

The employees are helpful and seem knowledgeable. They carry #1 grade pressure treated lumber. They also carry a good variety of standard lumber. I go out of my way to shop there and it is very worth it. PS: I am a carpenter.

This place is great if you live close and don't want to make a haul to one of the big box stores. Great selection of Benjamin Moore paint (which I highly recommend), wood and carry most fasteners. Staff is very helpful also.

Had a great experience here today. Looking to get tools to repair my couch, and the employees were super helpful and friendly. Only concern was they didn't have their masks on right (not covering nose and mouth), but they were mostly covered and generally keep six feet away.

Never going to one of the big name stores again. Y'all will definitely get my repeat business!

This is a great hardware store. Patrick (the paint expert) helped us to find a custom color for our medium sized project. He had lots of great tips and clearly cared that our project gets done well and within budget. Patrick also gave us a lot of time and his full attention- the three times we have been in. He even took the time to teach us some painting techniques. (It is important to mention that everyone in the store was really nice and helpful, but our direct interactions have been with Patrick). Good amount of parking for the city right across the street. Highly recommend and will return in the future.

Has been a great experience each time! The sales people are super helpful. I was working on a project building a radiator cover and had specific measurements and because of the size of the measurements had plywood left over that the sales guy offered to cut down to make easier for me to carry in the cart I brought (no car) at no charge.

The staff are always great, really helpful and go the extra mile. Obviously you won’t have all of the options of a large hardware store, but for most projects, they’ll have what you need and give good advice too.

As a homeowner and weekend warrior I have shopped here dozens of times. The staff has always helped me through challenging projects and helped me to find tough to get parts. (Sometimes recommending I order online when they don't have it) prices are fair and selection is great. I am moving to Denver and will miss this great store and it's staff. 😀

Great hardware store. While it is not as large as the big-box chains, Crafty Beaver has had everything I've needed for my home projects, and are conveniently located for emergency trips.

The staff is always very helpful, and are willing to take the time necessary to make sure you're getting the parts, pieces, and tools you need.

*THIS* is what is great about supporting locally owned and run businesses. They will not have everything you may need hardware wise but they are SUPER friendly and give GREAT service. Pleasure to deal with and they have parking too. Will definitely be going back for most common hardware store needs.
