Shannon's amazing. You want something , she will do it. 70$ is worth it when you get exactly what you want. She is also gentle because I've had a head fusion and I get anxious with shampoo bowls and stylists. Thank you for an awesome experience

I was recommended this place by a friend, I had a salon visit that kept me from returning the to any, but after seeing her hair I went for it. Im so HAPPY I did, it is in such a quiet neighborhood, from the moment you walk in you are so welcomed and offered a beverage. My stylist, Shannon took a minute to explain the process, expectations, and the bumps we may endure which was very reassuring. Throughout she was explaining how to maintain my hair for a long time and when I would really need a touch up and so forth. She recommended product and how amd when to use it which was great because I don't know much but really want to begin caring for my hair. The results were amazing. I wanted a blue black and she kept telling we would see a blue, the blueeee result was amazinggggg. I found my salon🫶🏻 thank you Shannon and everyone here, everyone was so nice and welcoming!!

Amanda did a fabulous, gorgeous job. Great haircut and color. And Hilda was wonderful with her shampoo and scalp massage.

I really love this place. Britney and the whole staff are friendly, and welcoming. I came here because I wanted to support a local woman-owned business and because they use Aveda products. My haircut and color with Shanna were fantastic. I also had a facial with Meghan and it was the most relaxing and rejuvenating experience! Highly recommended!

They truly listen and genuinely care about what you want and what’s important to you. I've only been a handful of times. Each time I am content with the service. Staff is very friendly. Front desk are always the sweetest. Very accommodating. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for

This was my first visit to Matisse, and it was a wonderful experience! Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed and felt right at home. It is a bright, welcoming space with lots of light and plants, and I loved the decor. The stations are vintage inspired, with some really beautiful fabrics on the window seats and old windows hung as a room divider. The decor is really well done. Amanda was my hair stylist, and she did a fantastic job. She listened to what I wanted in a hairstyle, and also looked at my hair type and made great suggestions for my color and a cut that would work for my face and lifestyle. She gave me a fresh and edgy new look that I absolutely love! Owner Brittany and attendant B.B. (spelling ?) we’re delightful. It was busy and everyone knew each other. It was a real community salon, and they also have Aveda products, which I love. Prices are on par with industry standards and the experience was totally worth it. Will definitely be going back!

Last week was my first time at this location. I was specifically looking for someone that had a lot of experience with vivid colors since I wanted a specific pink color. Shannon was amazing and the end result was better than I had hoped. I will definitely be coming back, so happy to have found her! Thank you so much!!

Facials with Mandy are pure heaven. She knows how to clear any skin problems you need resolved. I have fallen asleep twice on her table. She is simply the best and so very sweet.

Jocelyn’s haircut are perfection. She knows what suits you and asks a lot of question to make sure you are 100% with the end result.

Amanda is a veteran! She can cut any type of hair - coarse, thick, curly, long, short. If you fall into any of these categories Amanda is your girl!

I have been going to Shannon for years for my hair. Followed her to different salons and I now live in Valparaiso Indiana and I still drive back to Matisse for Shannon! She performs miracles on my hair, from vivids of purple blue and red to natural shades like my most recent visit included. She is so talented in many areas of cosmetology and really sets her vision when given an idea. Keeps up with the latest classes to stay fresh on new styles! I am so happy with the way my haircut turned out! I gave Shanna my likes and dislikes, and she was able to turn all that into an amazing cut just by doing her thing and working her magic. She worked with my hair’s texture and style which made for an even better cut. Thank you!!

I don’t normally post reviews. However, I’ve been living in Chicago since 2015 and it’s taking me 8 years to find a stylist who can cut my hair the way I like it. Jocelyn did a super job and she’s just the cutest little thing. I was a little hesitant because it was a little pricey and I wasn’t sure if the staff was going to be highbrow. They were super friendly and it was definitely worth it and I left loving my haircut.

This was my first time trying this salon and I LOVED it. All of the staff were extremely kind and helpful, and my hairstylist, Amanda, was INCREDIBLE. She took the time to talk with me about my goals and preferences, and achieved exactly what I was hoping. My hair looks great and she was an absolute joy to talk to and spend some time with. I’m already looking forward to my next appointment and will be telling my friends about this place!
