UChicago Medicine Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) - Hyde Park

I had a pleasant experience for my first visit. The best way to check in for an appointment is at the front desk in-person due to issues with their online check-in system. Dr. J Hwang answered any questions I had during my visit.

A VERY BUSY PLACE BUT IT'S REAL NICE. THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND CORDIAL. THERE IS A WAIT TIME BEFORE YOU ARE SEEN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY. THEY TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU.

This hospital is completely 5 star! Everyone is professional and has the patient’s care as their number goal.

I visit the DCAM building often for my eyes and have had to have two eye surgeries there. Let me start off by praising these nurses. They are so professional, compassionate and caring. I felt like their top priority. If I could've I'd have hugged each one individually. There's one I'd like to speak on in particular, in recovery. Her name was Nora, she never left my side. Every time I woke up she was right there and so attentive and gentle with me. It was the most amazing feeling. Just the culture there in general. Dr. Farooq was my surgeon, also extremely compassionate and attentive. Overall it was an amazing experience and I am so grateful. I highly recommend. My team was truly the dream team and I felt extremely blessed to have had them. Thank you all!!!!

Was in for a procedure which required 23 hour stay. All of the staff from the security guard when I arrived (at 5:15am!) to the nurses, interns, medical professionals, doctors and others! were terrific. The procedure went well and the post op care was excellent. The positive attitudes and obvious competence of staff was on display with every interaction. Thanks everyone!

I have been bringing my son for over 20 years, and I also have Dr.'s here. My son & I have always been treated with respect, kindness and compassion. The best care is exactly what we have experienced, the Dr.s, nurses, aids and on down to housekeeping are always knowledgeable , and professional. I will always be thankful for all they have done for my son and me ❤

The ms center is a great place to be if your disease is unstable. They keep a close eye on their patients and my Dr. and his nurse can be reached via email easily. I see other specialists here as well and have yet to meet 1 Dr. that didn't have excellent bedside manner. If you want a hospital that actually cares about their patients go here.

Some of the best overall health care I ever recieved anywhere. Made to feel like family while being 500 miles from home in a beautiful facility with smiles and customer care available on every level. From housekeeping to the top of the medical staff. Hard to speak in anything other than superlatives

The U of C hospital is one of the best in the world. Every experience I've had with doctors was positive and successful. Doctor's care about the patients and they are highly skilled in their profession

I have excellent relationships with myriad highly skilled and caring physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and also never fail to notice the hundreds of employees that are pleasant and helpful when I am either being assisted whenever an inpatient, making quick appointments & picking up various chemotherapy and pain meds via the Specialty Pharmacy/Regular Outpatient Pharmacy (while kind Valet Employees have no problem allowing me to leave my car safely in an open valet spot without ever charging me or).

I could go into pages of details regarding the remarkable and collaborative medical and social relationships I have cultivated with a good amount my large list of physicians, which include my Specialty Oncologist to a Palliative Care Physician, and definitely my (Primary/Alternate) Care Physician; it is rare now to find people who are passionate, and both willing to discuss recent developments in relevant Medical Literature while also trusting my input regarding care, possible future therapies, all while having the all-important compatible sense of humor and shared interests. If these conditions are met, both myself and each physician can let any guard down and continue to strengthen such important and valued relationships.

P.S.- While it is VERY far from my home, I still recommend coming to UChicago Medicine if you have rare diseases requiring long-term care. Keep in mind, if you're not picky about doctor/department/specialty rankings and also do not mind old and dilapidated inpatient and outpatient facilities...then feel free to stick with any old hospital of convenience over quality...(shudder).

The staff here, with ridiculously rare exceptions, actually care about the patients' and caregivers' experience. The medical staff is top notch. I can't say enough about the level of expertise, the bedside manner... just all of it.

Amazing state of the art facility. Saw a specialist and was scheduled for a procedure the next day. Buildings are well labeled and easy to find if driving yourself. Posting the parking rates.

Parking sometimes difficult but there is valet. Staff very friendly and help with directions clean bathrooms

The people are so friendly and the medical help excellent.I had cancer and they got me through it.Here you feel more than a number or a meal ticket.They really listen and care

How does one get in waitlist to see a psychiatrist here?
When will it be expected for more spots to open up ?

Love my doctors and nurses here. Everything else is the same everywhere.

I come out here from bfe and they treat me right. Try to take the Southshore if I can because driving the car is too much stress for me.
