Ray's - BBQ, Brews & Blues

Absolutely a joy to dine here tonight. I had a fresh cold ipa, and for food the waitress said the special macaroni and cheese with lobster was only $8, so I tried it. Wow, it was fantastic! It came with warm cornbread. A beer and something different for dinner for under $20, can’t beat it!

A great place for a delicious meal. I have to go back in the spring to sit outside on the deck overlooking the river. The food is delicious, with fair prices and generous portions. Fast and friendly service. Visit the fly shop across the parking lot.

Great experience. Brian Curran was playing, the brisket was tasty, the service was excellent, the beer enjoyable. Always love finding a place with a cream ale available!

The BBQ was very delicious- good smoke, nice and moist. My husband had essentially the same platter with ribs, pork, chicken wing, brisket. I had just the pork shoulder. Would say the ribs are the best of their meats in my opinion. They have 4 sauces - so good variety. The sides were mediocre- of the ones tried the Mac and cheese was the best. I had a mixed drink - their cranberry mule - it was delightful. Nice big space, attentive service. Overall, we will be back

We absolutely loved Ray's BBQ, Brews, and Blues. I got the ribs, and my husband got half a chicken. The rub was delicious, as was their homemade BBQ sauce. We tried all the sauces and were all so good! I had potato salad and mac and cheese as sides, and those were very good as well. I opted for the lavender bees knees adult beverage again because I can't seem to let go of summer. It was made with a house made lavender syrup and absolutely delightful. Damn right we got the blues....🎸🎷🎶 and we will be back!

Maaaaan, that my friend was a great freaking steak, and my husband had the brisket..😋😋 Delightful..so juicy it melted in my mouth..med/rare of course.💯 And that brisket was spot on..😍🙏🏾 From middleville, definitely will return.😁💯😋

We had already eaten lunch, but stopped for a couple drinks and Ashley was our server and was spectacular! Super friendly and right on her game. The food being served around us looked excellent and large portions. Beautiful outdoor seating right on the river. Highly recommend!

Drinks and some really good gumbo. Going back to try their barbecue. Dozens of beers on tap. Nice place, good music, view of the river, what more can anyone ask? Friendly staff!

Went back for their barbecue the next fay: had a restaurant b/chicken/brisket combo. Added their spicy bbq sauce. Very good! Only able to eat half of what they gave me, big portions. We will stop by again on our next trip to this area.

If you're passing by Grayling, STOP HERE! Views of the river when dining outside. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the brisket is always perfect and the cornbread is amazing!

Had enough time this afternoon for a lunch date with my favorite person! 11 out of 10 for sure! The loaded fries were my favorite.. If your looking for a place to eat this is it. The Service was also excellent. X.R. cyber mead/cider was so good i had to take home a growler full!

We loved dinner at Ray's. The outside atmosphere was great along with a one man band. Our BBQ was amazing. I had the Brisket Special, and my wife had the BBQ Chicken. WOW

After not having a pleasant experience the first time dining, we decided to give it another try. OMG! Our server Tori was amazing! So cheerful and fun. Our dinner was perfect! Warm cozy atmosphere. Did I mention our dinner was delicious? I’m glad we decided to give it another try.
Update: since writing this review we have gone back 2 more times… in a week. Every time excellent service and excellent food.

This place had a down home barbecue taste with a hip and fun vibe. Our server was on it and so friendly. I noticed all the other servers were kind and attentive. I tried the Beast sandwich and the Sweet Creeper Chili. It was amazing! Nice heat on the chili and flavor was bold. The brisket was perfectly smoked and flavorful. I'll come back when I'm in the area next.

This place has a great ambiance. The food will absolutely not disappoint! We enjoyed everything we ordered. The pulled pork had an excellent flavor and there were a variety of sauces tableside to try with it. We sat inside, but the creek added charm, even from afar. The service was friendly and fast. The wait staff was pulling double duty as hostess as well, but they never missed a beat.

Food was great. As someone who cooks a lot of my own BBQ it’s hard to find bbq that I like. The brisket was Smokey and had a nice amount of fat on top, the chicken was smokey and the ribs had a great bite. The sauces were different but on point. The view on the back porch added to the ambiance and the service was prompt and friendly. It was a great last dinner of the way back from mackinaw island.

We stopped on our way to North Higgins Lake State Park to camp. We had lunch. I had the smoked chicken wings. Very good. My wife had their 1/2 lbs berger, which was also very good. Over the last couple of years, we have eaten here close to 6 times. We have always had a very good meal. They are right on the AuSable river with a nice outdoor seating area overlooking it. Their food is all made from scratch. Over the years, I have had thei ribs, brisket, chicken, and "The Beast", a sandwich made with smoked brisket and andoullie sausage. We highly recommend you stop in if you like real BBQ.

This was one of the better burgers I have had in Michigan. The meat tasted very fresh and it was seasoned wonderfully. The bun also seemed like they bought it locally. The location was great and the service was very friendly. I will definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.

Excellent food, ribs and brisket! House made bbq sauces were amazing. Our waitress Ashley was one of the best we've ever had. Highly recommend!

This place has really good smoked food. I would have to say the chicken is the best. We also had Bloody Mary's.

This place is awesome. From it’s location (tables by a flowing creek with a fire globe), its wonderful and huge selections of great food, to waitresses like Savannah who was just a joy to spend time with…professional, polite, timely, and knowledgeable. Plus they support the military with a Veteran’s discount. Highly recommend!
