Keith and his team did a great job! They were very respectful of my house and were always checking to see if I was happy with the work so far. There were a couple adjustments I requested and they quickly and care of them. So happy with the work!!

CertaPro Review write-up

This is a one of those projects that starts out simple and morphs into a legacy project. Due to expansion we needed to move into another building. The 'new' building was larger but had been neglected for many years. We knew we had many upgrade projects ahead of us and understood that this may take some time to get the building to our expected level.

Our initial project consisted of painting the offices, SW corner of the warehouse and the shop break, wash and bath areas.

The ceiling in the shop area was peeling and due to 50 years of manufacturing was absolutely black and filthy. We were not budgeting to paint the ceiling but due to the age of the building and paint we thought it best to test the paint for lead. Mark was very helpful in the testing and unfortunately, it did come back as a lead-based paint that was peeling. Due to this, we had an urgent need to address and fix this to keep our employees and vendors safe before we moved into our new space.

We put a pause on all moving activities and focused solely on properly addressing our issue. Mark brought in additional resources, vendors, and team members to assist in analyzing the scope, timing, personnel required and vendor support.

Our single most important priority was the safety of our employees, vendors and visitors moving forward and Mark's team helped educate us on the proper processes that would be required to complete this safely.

CertaPro of Grand Rapids holds Certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency for the Toxic Substances Control Act which allows them to conduct lead-based renovation repair and painting. To assure compliance, this certification was a prerequisite for us to move forward.

Although not Certified, I feel like an honorary expert on lead abatement thanks to all the education that Mark and his team offered us.

There is a 3-step process to lead abatement. Step 1-scrape and clean the surface. Step 2-Contain and properly dispose of the debris. Step 3-Painting: in our case, a primer coat and then a final coat of paint to achieve 'encapsulation' of the lead-based paint.

Over a 2.5 week period, we held countless meetings, calls and visits together to source, plan and create our final glide path.

Initially, the vendor of the primer was sourced, and the product was ordered with specific delivery times required. This vendor confirmed the order and timing. As often happens, this vendor over-committed and left us without recourse with their product.

This miss required Mark to start over with the primer and he brought in another vendor who was able to deliver. Of all the kudos I have for the CertaPro team, outside of safety, this is the one to promote. Without the primer, we were not able to start the encapsulation process and would be further delayed in our move. The quick response by Mark as well as the vendor kept the project moving. This did not come easily, and we all lost some sleep during this time in the project, but this is when you confirm you have the best team!

The CertaPro painters worked extremely hard and safely every day. There were (4) 2-person teams and they all had to spend the entire day elevated on a scissors-lift and looking up. To be clear, this is a terrible position to be in from an ergonomics standard and not one of the Team members complained. They were all invested in this project and took great pride in the outcome. These teams Rocked it!

What a refreshing experience! The service was fantastic! David Cooper and Jason were so polite, friendly and kept us informed with what was going on. David was never too busy to stop and answer
questions etc. He made us feel like we were the #1 priority and wanted to make sure we were happy with everything. Getting good customer service is a rarity these days but all of you, including the people in the office are top notch! We definitely will recommend your company to others! Santos Reyes and his crew did a great job repairing our drywall and painting the basement! Our sewer line backed up so you can imagine parts of the drywall, trim and molding had to be removed. He was patient, accommodating and responsive. No paint splatters, great even coating, and he even agreed to create an entrance to our utility room for our cats so they have a "private" entrance to their litter boxes. We added a small trim molding around it - so cute! Make sure you ask for Santos Reyes if you're hiring Certapro for your painting needs.

CertaPro painted the outside of my house the last week of good weather in November. The following week they painted every room plus trim inside of my house. This last week we had two rooms with ceiling work and they took care of that. Santos and his crew were amazing. They went above and beyond. I would hire them again in an instant. Thank u!
