Willy T's Tavern & Grill

Thursday we sat on the patio to enjoy the music and had dinner. The music was fantastic! Loved the music and our server was the best. It was very busy too. She was always right there making sure we had everything we needed.

Everything about our experience at Willy T's from the cowhide chairs to the amusing decor was absolutely charming. Our meals were delicious. Every single person in our party was able to find something they wanted off the sandwich menu, and as soon as our food came, we wish we had tried all the appetizers too. Everything was just that good.

Service was absolutely stellar, which was a surprise because it was so quiet that when we came in there was no wait staff to be seen. We were perfectly attended to, and never had to wait for anything.

Our kids had a lovely time, which is not always the case since boys can get quite loud, but they were right at home here. Thanks for lunch Willy!

The pan-fried walleye was perfect. Asparagus and rice pilaf was very flavorful

We ate there tonight even after reading all of the critical reviews. Well let me tell you and me being a total food snob.....that was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Our server said that she'd only been there a week but she was attentive, polite and so friendly! Then there was the food.....outstanding! The cooks/chefs are doing everything right and as I told one of the cooks when we left, they should be proud of what they are doing there. It is a totally different and better experience than it ever was before!!!

UPDATE. June 2023- new owners. Great staff and new mgmt I see…. Smiles hustle great music and menu! Now tables of 10 of course theres a much longer wait on food etc. So the claims below are possible but I have yet to hear or see any issues…. Maybe its the competition?? Either way the staff and food speak for themselves! Great atmosphere and golf is amazing too!
*** I love how the bar tenders cater to the public IE people staying at the hotel, the people visiting for dinner and drinks maybe watching a game, they do not close and kick you out at a certain time - so yeah the bar area is open later.

Ok June-July 2022- we have all made it thru this 2 -3 yr. chaotic Covid reality. Willy Ts has also! Glad to see as we opened our nearby cabin; Willy Ts is just as awesome as it was before. Ok people this IS cabin resort country! Rustic clean up-north log/brick beautiful atmosphere! Great inside seating and large bar/tv area! Staff is just as awesome seems they have been able to keep their loyal employees very cool! Food is delicious! Thus again- its is an UP North resort area so YES the menu Will resemble that! So deal with it! If you want New York Pizza go to New York! But they have delicious pizza so no need! Also a gal from the RV park wondered in asking for cheese curds and yes they have them! Steaks yes! Pasta yes! Not a meat eater. Soups salads etc! Homemade and delicious! So hey I am happy to see our cozy yet fun place is great. Nay sayers go elsewhere…. Live music on their beautiful golf course facing patio is also amazing! The views from the patio wow! Alls I can say we cant wait to get up north from the cities every weekend! Yes this is an updated review and Yes you can review their current menu and specials! Oh FULL bar! Ample space for large groups.

Excellent food! Vast menu items! Late nite happy hr -drinks AND appetizers which are delicious! Live music in doors and outdoors! Omg have you seen their golf course side patio? Beautiful! What a joy to have all these New hours of fun! Darts & Pool table- pull tab booth; great food! Huge bar and seating area! Great staff! And music -what? & IN ottertail? Thank you Willy Ts for bringing nightlife back to cabin country! Great pricing and heck go golf or play in the Waterpark ! Just saying!
We have been cabin owners over 20 years and fun has come & gone from establishments nearby due to ownership. Well the latest is WillY Ts which is clean; classy, and has a great product! Thank you we will continue to rave about you and spend our free time here!!! An added plus would be local Disgruntled Toasted Blonde on tap….😉. See you next weekend!

We would like to commend the crew at this establishment for their hard work and great service in this "new normal" of finding employees to work. It was an all hands on deck atmosphere and everyone was hustling to provide the best dining experience. Thank you all, and just know that you are appreciated!

When we went we had a large table of people with us and the server was excellent. The food was very delicious and the food was a little expensive but they make up for it in servings. The burgers are so big it could easily be to meals. Also they have trivia night on Wednesday and that was very fun also!

No matter which of Minnesota's four seasons you visit Willy T's, the atmosphere and staff are upbeat and pleasant. We've eaten here for lunch and evening dinner and our food has always been tasty, nicely arranged and more than enough food (I often have to bring some of it home.). Their menu is chock full of choices: appetizers, soups, chili, salads, burgers, 15+ sandwich choices, pasta, Mexican; large selection of entrees: beef, pork, chicken, walleye, shrimp, salmon, meatloaf AND 8 choices of BRICK OVEN PIZZA (delish!!). Their sweet potato fries and onion straws are A+. Their bar is beautiful ... surrounded by comfy stools - and well stocked!! EXCELLENT coffee ☕!!

Buffalo wings are a great choice for a spicy app!

My husband and I frequent this restaurant when we camp at Donalds Lake. The food is always excellent with a pretty view of the golf course! Try their Jumbo Tater Tots!

Outstanding ribs and tacos. Carrot cake was great! Service was excellent and it was very busy there.
