Donas J. & Margaret Reney Memorial Forest

A lovely green trail with miles of stone walls and lots of wildlife. A great place to look for mushrooms and there's even a little cabin to visit. It's pretty dry here, with the only stream being the Northern border.

A fairly steep hike that seemed like it was uphill 95% of the way.

But it was a lovely nature hike and it had lots of cool views. We collected neat rocks along the way as well, there are a few spots with small streams and water runoff on the trail itself.

I took my 4 and 7 year old with me and they were able to do it just fine.

Family-friendly hikes for a variety of skill levels.

Easy hike, nice gradual incline not too steep, some mud in a few places, easy to go around or cross. Only complaint is brush is encroaching in few spots,it needs a cpl hrs of brush work, did loop in about 40 minutes...no hurry...no ticks found, but they are out. At about halfway there was a confusing "viewpoint" sign about 50' off the trail but no obvious viewpoint.

Planned to trail run, but both directions looked overgrown and I had on shorts. Nice trail in the winter though. It's fun to bring a sled, hike up one side, then let the kids sled down the other side.

Not sure how to rate this. Pulled into the parking lot with the nice map and kiosk but you can tell this rarely gets visited given the vegetation encroaching on the trail. Picked up no ticks but might wait until later in the year to explore the 400+ acres.

The map was great and it looks like a great parcel of land, but the trail was impassable due to an overgrowth of vegetation and downed trees and branches.
