Surf City

I went yesterday afternoon and caught it right in time because after that they were packed all day! Super fun, cute place by the water with some sand and a bunch of outside tables. The seafood was great, or at least it looked it, I hate seafood. The bees sure loved the shrimp! I saw a bee straight up cut a piece of it, firmly grasp it, then take off with it. The drinks were really good. I had the Banana Daiquiri, my mom had the Strawberry Daiquiri, my mother-in-law had the Miami Vice, and so did hubby. We also got a pitcher of the Coney Island Mermaid beer, and it was pretty good.

This is pretty nice place if you're in Jersey City and it's nice out.
We went on a Thursday at 4 (time they open) and were one of the few there. Alot more people started rolling in close to 5. I've been here before on a weekend and it gets pretty packed.
The food was good and the prices were pretty decent. The drinks were good and really hit the spot on a nice hot day. We ordered Mac and cheese, corn and warm lobster rolls. First time I had a lobster roll and it was really good. Loved the corn with butter and salt and Mac and cheese good as well.
The service was good and the staff was friendly. You can go up and order your food and drinks and find a table or you can go to service area, get seated, and have the waiter bring you a menu. Our waitress was nice, greeted us with a smile and checked up on us often.
Like the atmosphere here. Just seems laid back and peaceful. Enjoying the sun with good food and a drink is always the best. There's also a sandbar to hang out and have a drink.
This time parking was fine but when busy it's hard to get parking. Bouncer at the entrance asks for ID. Not if you look old though lol.

Excellent place to not just enjoy weekend but just casual hangout on week days

Grab those fine buffalo wings with blue cheese and the burgers with really good fries

Great space, great atmosphere, great food and great staff! We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken and brought back quickly. We ordered a Mango Tango, MangoRita (w/ an added shot of Tequila) and a Gin and Tonic and weren't disappointed. We had the Drunken shrimp boil (1lb/ 12 pcs) as an appetizer, and it was very good. For entrees, we ordered Crispy Calamari, a cheeseburger and (one of today's special) a soft crab dish, and they were all delicious. Our server, Gabriela was very welcoming and attentive. Thanks Gabriela!!

Stopped here with an old friend from out of town. We had a nice time sitting by the water and enjoying drinks. We had the guacamole which was very fresh and yummy. Drinks were ok. We had a very nice time

I had a blast I want on a Monday when it wasn't busy, but the food was great. The service was also good. I would definitely come back.

Loved coming here! It’s a great place to escape from the city and eat/ drink with friends. Loved the setting on the water next to the boats. There was also a nice area with sand and cabana type seating.

Very relaxing and fun environment. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to be back.

The vibe is casual upscale. Just be prepared to dress up with dress down shoes (no heels) because there is an area with sand. You come here to chill and relax but look pretty because you're on the water with good views.
Closes during the late Autumn into Winter and reopens (depending on the weather) late Spring.

Surf City is awesome. It's got a great location right on the Morris Canal, with views of Manhattan, the Hudson River, and Liberty State Park. The drinks are great (frozen drinks are only made at the inside bar) and the food is the perfect combination of pub fare and fried seafood. There is plenty of seating outdoors with covered areas and fire pits. Good happy hour too!

Had a great time. Will at the door helped me get my footing and figure out where I needed to go in this fabulous, spacious venue. Great music, food and atmosphere.

Best Paella in town. The lobster 🦞 Paella 🥘 it’s an amazing plate here at Surfcity. Great staff service, the Cheff, he is a famous guy on TV, and you can have drinks, Guac 🥑 and chips while having a good time by the Marina. Guys, you’ll have a great time at this place! No doubt!

Super fun place for date night or to come with a group. Seafood is delicious drinks are great music is good . Some nights they do karaoke. Deff recommend!

Awesome area to sit and enjoy alone or with friends. Waiters are well behaved and dedicated to their service. You don't feel unattended at all. Even if you don't find a table, you can stand on some corner and have your drinks. Won't feel a bit tired and time would simply pass by.

While many may reach this bar and eatery on foot or by car, my paddling friends and I always arrive by paddle board or kayak. Even so, on our most recent trip we found ourselves outnumbered by big power cruisers and jet skis at the dock. Our group departs out of Pier 84 in Hell's Kitchen, and there are regular guided trips for experienced paddlers out of Manhattan Kayak + SUP. Good food, nice bar---but be sure to bring your ID (paddlers sometimes don't want to worry about carrying it, they won't let you in without one; because they serve alcohol). Over the last few years I've eaten a lot of things off the menu. The burgers are good, the fries always good (those on a reduced salt diet better ask for none). Most recently had a great order of fish and chips (fried pieces of cod) and a good bit of a buddies Captain's platter, fried shrimp and calamari in addition to the fish. It is a neat location adjacent to the historic Morris Canal turning basin as well as several marinas across the channel. Near to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Keep in mind that if you arrive by human-powered craft that the dock boss is going to be your best friend, a tip goes a long way toward them being friendly and helpful (especially if, as my most recent trip was, very busy at the dock with pleasure boats and jet skis) ;-)

Looking for a open air dope drinking party place, surf city will live on to your expectations.

Pros:
- Big different sections to hang out.
- Beach party area, pier party area, indoor party area.
- Outdoor seating with heaters and bonfire.
- Multiple bars with humble staff.
- Live band.
- You can watch small boats sailing and docking.
- Open late nights.

Cons:
- Food game could be better, you can get burgers and fries though.
- Music can be better.

Summer in Nj can’t get better than this. Summertime and you don’t get any idea just go to Surf City. Food, Drinks, Hudson River, yacht, Ny skyline what else you need. Do not forget your Id’s 🪪. They open till late midnight and serves drinks too. Thank me later.

Always a good time, food and drinks are always good. Food it delicious we got the crab fries and the twin lobster rolls hot and 2 margaritas

Me and my Wife absolutely loved this place. We went on a beautiful sunny 85 degree day and everything was nice. The food was good, especially the crab fries. They have multiple bars. Some sections are to receive service from staff and others are for self serve where you order and pick up your food yourself. The breeze, the sun, the water, the views and the environment was great. Prices weren't bad either for where this place is located. We went early and got a great table but it got crowded by 1pm. They also do walk-ins on a first come first serve basis.

Great place to get a frozen drink during a hot summer day. Surf city sunrise is really good!

Indoor and outdoor bar with a beach like atmosphere! Food is average but everything else makes up for it. Free parking which is a huge plus for this area! Perfect for date night, family gathering or group of friends. This place is massive so you never feel overcrowded. Highly recommend this place.
