Village Laundromat (fmr. Bird House Laundry)

So grateful for this place! Due to personal reasons tonight was the only time I had available to do my laundry. We arrived at our usual laundromat in Keene at 8:15 only to be told that they changed last wash from 8:30 to 8, understandable, but inconvenient for me tonight! Everyone we called was already closed for the night. We called here and were originally told last wash was 8, but they were kind enough to allow us to do our laundry still!

There were many inoperable machines, but there were enough to service the night time crowd, so while this may be an issue during busier times, it was not an issue for me. The added benefit of the convenience store in the front portion of the building made my night a lot easier.

I moved to town a month ago and have been searching for a laundromat closer to Swanzey than Keene, and one that was affordable. After being alarmed by prices like $4.50 for a small washer at other places in the area I was worried but when I got to Bird House Laundry I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, well run, the owner is very friendly and when he responded to my concerns with "It's the best laundromat in town," he meant it.
20lb washers- $2.49/ cycle
40lb washers- $4.49/ cycle
You load your laundry money onto one of their super easy cards, and get going.
I washed an entire month of laundry in two small washers (26 minutes) and in one big dryer (63 minutes) for under $8.00.
I am so glad I found this place!

Love the automated door makes it so much easier carrying clothes in and out

Other than the dryer taking my coins... the place is clean and the washers didnt have a mildew smell!

Most Washers are not operational, about 5% of there aren't out of order. However, wash and dry are fairly reasonably priced. Usually no one else is their, not much crowding. A few extra large washers, decently sized dryers. Conveniently located not far out of Keene.

Should have more washer that work most of them don't work.

My old laundromat,, just had so many broken machines that would eat your money so I decided to try a new place went to take my clothes out of the washer their we're all soaking wet, ring them out and filled the rubbish can halfway with water,, will I try again "yes I will,,

Most of the machines don’t work and when they do they don’t work correctly- There isn’t an attendant on Sunday morning. Dirty.

Our dryer broke and decided to do laundry here since we used to use this place in our college years. Horrible. The coin machine eats your money, half the washers don’t work and the other half has your wash come out sopping wet. Whoever owns this does not care about the establishment whatsoever. Well, at least they’re making an easy buck.

This place SUCKS. You'd be better off doing laundry in your bathtub. Unless you're looking for an 8-ball of crack or the like, avoid this trap house of a laundromat.

This was the absolute WORST experience that I have ever had at a laundromat. Most of the machines do not work, and many of them are not labeled out of order. The washing machine did not spin out my clothes. I had to hand wring them out in the sink. This happened to 2 other people on different machines while I was there. I put quarters in multiple dysfunctional dryers and had to move my clothes. I've wasted about $10 on broken machines and over an hour longer than a typical trip to the laundromat. I do NOT recommend. 😡🤬

I thought I would try this place seeming how I don't want to keep driving 20 mins to the laundromat I like. Well it was a mistake. Washed the clothes came back when the washer was down clothes were soaked and covered in soap. So spent more money to wash them again. When it was done the soap was gone but they were still soaked. I had to ring the water out of my clothes into one of the trash cans. The drier worked great. Just annoyed that I had to spend double the money on washing and drying my clothes.

Over half of the machines don't work and they have a bathroom but you need to bring your own toilet paper and there's no attendant on property if there is a issue only a number to call

What can I say? The best thing about this place is the automatic door to get in. The first washer I went to had gobs of hair around the gasket. Ugh! Place just seems neglected. Also noticed some machines broken. Not going there again

The change machine ate my twenty dollar bill and after calling and texting the number left on the contacts sign, the chap still has not refunded me. I would actually give this laundromat 0 stars, thank you very very much.
