Definitely an easy 5/5 stars. We went on a weekday, as a party of three. My almost 4 year old daughter and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Each session was 1.5 hours long. As I remember we went around 7-8 times. There are single or double tubes ( my daughter went in both) available. There is a separate ticket line for tubing, so don’t stop at the ski ticket place (the first entrance is that). However, it was totally worth it and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Hats off to all those lovely people. Definitely, I am recommending it to all others to enjoy tubing or skiing.

Great family and beginner's mountain. Two carpet lifts for the learning slopes. I brought my kids here at age 9 to try skiing and snowboarding for the first time, and it was perfect. Probably would not recommend for intermediate and better riders. Rentals were great, and there were a few food options. Definitely recommend for beginners of all ages.

In the last weekends, we went the 3 of us to this slide place. We had so much fun.
We drive for 1 hour and a 10 minutes from the Peekskill area... remember you HAVE to buy your tickets in advance by date and hours available.

We really had a lot of fun.

I recommend to anyone who can reach the high their required to get in the big slide ir practice first in the s all one until your kids get usual to the movement and he/she will decide to go to the big one

Absolutely the best place to learn to ski! I am an adult learner and started last year with group lessons. It was very good. Mary, our instructor, was phenomenal. This year (2024), I took group lessons again and we had Mary and Chris. It was very good. I consolidated my learning and I am comfortable on green and blue slopes. I highly recommend Mount Peter to learn to ski.

Excellent spot for beginner skiers, and very close to the city. The Kinderland School is wonderful and the instructor that our son had (Kevin) was quite skilled with kids - super patient, inviting, yet direct and effective. We look forward to coming back for more lessons!

Staff and facility both are amazing. My husband and my son both had their first ski experience here and they loved it. Its very scenic around this location and the best part is very closer (distance wise) for people visiting from Long Island (New York). Highly recommended this place for teaching kids to ski.

I just don't know where to start.......

Ann,
I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible kindness and support you and your staff showed my wheelchair-bound niece during her visit to your snow tubing facility.

My niece which is from overseas , a country that doesn't get any real snow ever, and is currently in the states for a complex drawn out medical treatment had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see and observe her cousins during their snow tubing trip, and you and your staff all went above and beyond to make her dream a reality. Literally not caring about anything only to get a smile on her face.Your thoughtfulness and compassion were truly heartwarming.

Your staff's willingness to accommodate my niece's needs and ensure her comfort and enjoyment was truly exceptional. Their extraordinary efforts made it possible for her to have a truly memorable and enjoyable experience, and I am forever grateful for their kindness.

Thank you again for your extraordinary kindness and professionalism. You are truly angels, and I will never forget your generosity.

I would give more stars if possible because angels fly near the stars......

This was my second time ever skiing and Mount Peter was the absolutely perfect challenge for me. The mountain has nice variety of beginner trails, enabling me to start the day on the bunny Hill, moving quickly to the greens, and then finishing on blues. On the countless times I wiped out, the ski patrol staff always came to check up on me and they were very kind and patient.

My friend unfortunately hurt her knee on a run down the mountain at the end of the day and ski patrol all came and were very calm, kind and direct with her on what to do. Shout out to ski patroller Nick who helped calm her down and arranged for her a sled to go on back down the mountain. Nick made the whole experience a positive one even in light of minor injuries.

Because the mountain isn't gigantic, you can't really get lost. Additionally, because there are many staff on ski patrol, you always feel like there's someone nearby to help. Lastly, everyone else skiing was very kind and always stopped and offered a hand when I fell.

There was even a little boy (probably 8 years old or so) who was skiing down the whole blue backwards and I wiped out going forwards and he stopped and asked if I was okay and even offered to help me if I needed. It was adorable and his parents really raised him well.

Although ski passes are on the pricier side, I can assure you the premium you pay is well worth it because of the kind staff there to help you, clean facilities to use, and especially for excellent experience you will have.

Had a lot of fun snow tubing with my son. The staff are all very friendly, kind and helpful. The only minor thing I would say is that the outside trailer type of bathrooms (not porta potties) didn't have water for you to wash your hands. There is a regular bathroom, but it was closed for cleaning. But a great place for younger kids to tube, snow or ski. Parking is close to the base.

We had a great time tubing. The staff was very nice and helpful. It gets sold out on the weekends so in your 90 minutes you will go down about 4 times. After going down once we decided to hold our spots for our kids. Our $45 was spent on standing in line and giving our turns to our kids but we loved every second of it! This way they were able to go down 7- 8 times on a very busy day. I recommend you to be on time and line up to get your tube as soon as possible. Giving out the tubes takes longer than expected. I saw people going down twice before I got mine. I was the last person to get my tube. So if you must use the bathroom use it before lining up! The first few people receiving their tubes will get at least one extra tubing before all the others make it to the hill. The conveyer belt worked great for us to go up the hill but some people had a hard time keeping their balance. Before you get on it hold onto the railing lightly for balance. After the first time I was fine going on without holding the railing.
When going down the tube you will have to sit on the edge and lean back on the tube with your legs straight. It is not too fast just the right comfortable speed to give you a little thrill. If you want to go slower sit more into the tube but this way you might stop at the first bump. No worries if you stop they have a staff member there who will give you a push.
Also the sunset was amazing!
We loved this place. The staff was fantastic! We had some issues with our reservations it was not their fault and they still went out of their way to help us. The front desk girl with the long, black, braided hair, don’t know her name, was the most patient and nicest person. Her great attitude and big smile was contagious. She was extremely helpful and so was the manager/supervisor.
Thank you for a great family time!

Wonderful weekend tubing for the kids not far from norther Jersey/ NYC. Very reasonable and everything is well coordinated leading to shorter lines/ quicker turnaround to more rides down the slopes! Purchased tickets ahead and it was very easy to print them upon arrival. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Note, if you are the parent who is doesn’t want to tube and watch on the sidelines, there is a parent viewing area at the bottom of the slopes where you can watch your kids come down without having to purchase an extra ticket.

Really amazing staff. The slopes itself are short, but quite wide. The cafeteria and bar provide great selections. I noticed a pizza place and creperia all close to each other as well, but have not tried it. The staff at the rentals were also very helpful in fixing something on my board. Would come again since it isn't too far from Westchester.

Really great for kids.

Leading into arriving was a bit anxious about my 3.5 year old whether or not he would like it.

The cashier was nice and guided me through the different options.

I highly recommend Denise and Jack as the instructors. They were great and really knew how to deal with young children, especially Denise.

For older, more experienced snowboarders or skiers this may not be a mountain for you as it’s a bit on the smaller side. Great for young kids though.

Will definitely be back in the future.

Nice ski area that’s compact and easy in/out. Good for beginner ski lessons (haven’t yet tried the overall mountain). Patient, attentive and skilled instructors at the mountain ski camp (kids did the 2hr weekend Kid Ski Camp - they effectively got a private lesson).

The size is just right - I dropped the family right next to the rentals and they were on the snow in 15m. Far cry from the madness that’s Mountain Creek.

And it’s right off NY thruway so a breeze to get to.

This was our first visit to a Ski Area. This was perfect for the entire family. We visited with our 4 year old. The staff were very knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. We were a bit bummed that we the tubing area was not opened but know if it was we would have had such an amazing time. Food at the Lodge was tasty and fresh. We appreciated that. We would go again.

We went in the morning and left in the afternoon. A day well spent. We rented equipment. They were in good shape and good quality.

What we appreciated most was how comfortable and welcomed we felt as first times to Skiing.

We arrived at the second day since they have opened for the season. The snow wasn’t thick enough, but the whole area wasn less crowded. What impressed me is the service— when my friend fell off (multiple times) and was stuck on the hill, their staff were really supportive and even taught her how to stand up. Great experience!!!

Great place to take your kid for skiing and snowboarding. We went last week for snowboarding they have free lessons for 50 minutes which was great. We had Nick as our instructor he was really good with my son. Really appreciate his time and efforts.

Great mountain for beginners and families! It is very easy to get to from NYC and there is night skiing. The snow was artificial but it was powdery and soft. If you are an advanced skier who likes steep vertical runs, going off piste, and moguls this is likely not the mountain for you.
