The Savoy Restaurant

We sailed into Rome on The Erie Canal and only had enough time to go out for dinner. We chose Savoy as it appeared to carry the most charm of any option in town. And though we didn't explore much of Rome NY we feel that experiencing Savoy has to be the #1 experience in Rome. Just a class act restaurant that has nice table cloth and the waiters wear a nice apron, but they also have a TShirt. Casually classy might be the way to describe it.

But what really sets it apart is the food and the service. Friendly staff and great pasta really left us feeling like our short stay in Rome was complete.

Two of us had the Savoy Spaghetti and meat balls. Including a small salad was a nice old school touch. There was only 1 big meat ball but there was also a nice chunk of Italian sausage. But you wouldn't feel skimped in the slightest. The abundance of green peppers onions and mushrooms makes every bite of pasta just fresh and deliteful.

The decor is classic, and you can see famous people have been here before again just reinforcing this is the top experience you can have in Rome.

We were stuffed but the Creme Brulee sounded too good. Home made it was very possibly the best creme brulee I have ever had and my dad owns a restaurant and it's his favorite dessert too!

I definitely hope to return someday.

First time dining at the Savoy. Great experience. I wish I grabbed some pics of the food, but I would felt a little outta place maybe. It's not a quick place to run in have a quick meal. It's a sit down with a bottle of wine and enjoy your candle light dinner listening to the piano player. The steak savoy was great, 4 steak medallions over a bed of mozzarella and greens. Wife had the chicken marsalla. Both excellent dishes cooked perfect. Greens rival Georgia's for best I ever had. Fried provolone appetizer and a kids meal total was $69 with 2beers. Well worth it. Will be back again!!! Server was great too!

I had never been here before, but my wife was used to getting lunch for her company often. My other friend had not been in many years.
What a pleasant surprise for us all. The decor is so old world, the service was outstanding, and the food hot and delicious.
We will definitely be back. I want to sit at the gorgeous bar, look at all the old photos, and have a classic martini next time.

First impressions are everything with Italian cuisine. The environment was that of a traditional restaurant in Italy. The look was very classy, and organized. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking in with shorts and a t shirt. The gentleman playing piano is a great idea for tying in the theme very well. The drinks were served very fast, and the food was amazing. Portion sized are huge, so order half orders if you're eating on the light side. The dinning room and bar are somewhat separate, which doesn't make it feel like you're just at some fancy bar. Super clean all the way down to the bathroom tiles! Lastly, the mozzarella sticks where the nest I've ever tried in my life! My wife, who happens to be the Amazing Chef Liz, (professionally) said they were the best also. I will be returning and recommending this place.

An absolute breath of fresh air and class amongst routine dining establishments. Great food! Really super people who clearly show they truly care about what they serve! The place readily stands out in the Rome community. Love the old school charm of this fine restaurant. The best Sunday buffet I've had in years.

The atmosphere is nostalgic & rustic!
With an old huge wood bar to greet visitors! We ate beyond the bar in a more quaint area. The server greeted us & were seated immediately. The service is delightful! They offer toast w/ a garlic butter which is yummy! I ordered pasta w/ shrimp & it was delicious! My fiance ordered Veal Parmigiana & we loved it! We also shared a raspberry cheesecake together that was wonderful! We will be back again! Soon !

This place was absolutely amazing and ooooh so good! Service was with a smile and super friendly. Food ordered came out fast and cooked to perfection. Server returned to the table multiple times to replenish our waters. Establishment was clean also which is great! The bill came and we were so shocked at how inexpensive such a terrific, delicious dinner had cost us. KUDOS TO THE SAVOY RESTAURANT IN ROME NY.

We have been patrons of the Savoy for over 20 years. With Covid we have not been going out much. The last time we went to the Savoy was in January 2020. We dined there last night and it was DELICIOUS! I didn’t realize his much I missed this restaurant. Margaret has always been our server but she was not available last night. Mandy was our server and she did as good a job as Margaret does. I had Penne Orlando and it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had!

The Savoy has a great ambiance and super employees. If you are looking for a restaurant with ambiance, delicious and plentiful food at reasonable prices I recommend you try the Savoy!!

Excellent atmosphere, service, and food. Chicken Parm was absolutely delicious as well as the tiramisu that completed the meal. Very charming on the inside and seating is very well set up. Give it a try if you haven't.

The food was absolutely delicious. My husband and I both had the Steak Savoy . Was tender and tasty, greens were perfectly seasoned. I recommend this place to anyone.

So, I've been twice to brunch to weekends in a row. Last weekend I went solo and today I brought my family. I loved the food, service, and attention I received both times. The food for brunch is great and I will probably go back again soon!

This is our go-to spot in Rome while biking from Buffalo to Albany. Great food. Good service. Large portions. Two of us share an appetizer and main dish and it is enough. See you next July.

Excellent service and food. We got the lunch buffet and every item was truly the best tasting food..from BBQ pork loin, breaded cod, coasted vegetables, Italian sausage, garlic mash potatoes and delicious pies. Many framed photos of military and famous people who have eaten here. Cozy and quaint atmosphere in this very old restaurant .

I grew up in Rome, but hadn't been there in 45 years. It was a must that I return to The Savoy where my parents used to take me. The decor, ambience, service and food were as good as I had remembered. As I basked in memories from my childhood, the staff made my experience a personal one. The Savoy remains a landmark that Rome can be proud of!

The couple of times I have been to the Savoy has been quite enjoyable. The food is very flavorful and the staff is very friendly. At first pass the price seems steep but it is worth every penny. If you are in Rome, NY for dinner I suggest you go here.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The place has a lot of history, and the bartender had been working there for many years and had a lot of good stories. Classy upscale atmosphere, very good drink options, and a cozy vibe.
