This is a hidden gem closely located by our hotel. First off, this is a natural park with native Ohio plants and wildlife. We spotted snapping turtles, turkey vultures, and an eagle! The cattails weren’t in season nor were the mosquitoes. They have a great shelter with three picnic tables that overlook the wetlands. If you’re grabbing food off I-71, skip eating in the car and go here for a quick break

One of my favorite hiking spots in the area! secluded yet still very popular. Beautiful place to walk and sit in nature.

Larger than we thought and lots of wet spots. Great swampland and also borders on Jerome Fork River. We did a 2 mile hike here and also a 2.12 mile hike at Fireman's cabin today. We are planning on walking all 18 Ashland County Parks this year.

This is such a lovely walk, but the mosquitoes are terrible in the warmer months. I usually only hike here in the fall and winter.

I didn’t even know this place was here until my mom and I saw the bridge out in the distance. We pulled over on a detour from getting groceries and it was very beautiful. I’ll be sure to do it again!

Beautiful park, great trails. Eagle's nest, Sandhill cranes and Great Blue Heron rookery. Picnic area

Great to view waterfowl. Bald eagle nest in the park. I've seen a mink on the river. Watch out for poison ivy.
