Ouzel Camping Area

Small Campground in a gravel lot, but beautiful area and right next to the Platte River. It gets very busy on the weekends but not too much during the weekdays.

Edited to add: This campground is tent camping only. They have not had signs to indicate in the past, but please keep in mind, no rvs are allowed.

Clean campsites, nice hosts, clean toilets. Near a restaurant and seems like they really keep up with the roads out there.

Great tubing site! The Platte river is just 50 yards from the campsite, and it's about 45 minutes from woodland park. Has porta potties and dumpsters, always a plus!!

We camped here for two nights in the middle of the week in September and had a wonderful time. The bugs (flies and yellow jackets) were a little annoying but the scenery is beautiful. The camp was well maintained and the host is super nice. I wish there was more accessible shoreline but each site has relative easy access to the river. There just isn't any room to sit on the shore. We'll definitely be going back there.

Very good camp area. Rangers were friendly. The sites were clean and well kept. They do have dumpsters and portapotties.

Had a wonderful time! Craig was very friendly and courteous. The bathrooms were clean. The sites are very close to the river. Enjoyed this site the last couple years and we will definitely be there again next year. Hope to see you again next summer Craig.

The host Craig was amazing! Very nice and welcoming, took extreme pride in his job. Kept the site clean and well managed. We’ll be back again soon!

Serene and has moderate camp sites with waste hangers.

Best camping spot on the river! The camp host at this site is the best! He takes good care of the toilets and the campsites. I recommend taking an extra day to get your spot early because it fills up fast!

Had a great time at South Platte River with family. 3 days camping...loved it.

This is a really nice place. The camp host Craig is top notch and keeps the place in great shape. Bathrooms are clean and stock. Trash is picked up.

First time camping. Had a good time with the family... Will be there again soon...

Ouzel, oh Ouzel,, what can I say about you. We met in the mid 90's. When we first started going there,, there would be coyotes that would howl from the other side of the river,, on some rock ledges. You could see them in the moon light. They also had bears that would visit there too. However,, that was along time a go. I
Seriously doubt that they are around any more. They've even taken down the bear signs.
Ouzel is a great place to take the kids,,, or a loved one for a romantical few days.
The cost is $19. They raised the price and haven't changed the web site to reflect the $1 raise.
The best time to go is in the middle of the week,, when it's fairly quiet and you can get a spot right on the river... Ouzel is not the rustic place I remember,, but the peeps that show up are generally cool,, and new friendships will be made for sure if you're not shy. Your kids will almost assuredly find new friends there too. Keep an eye on them... But ya can't ask for a better place that's about an hour way from Denver. Just hope I don't have to compete with you next time I go.. Yes there are portable bathrooms. No electric,, so find a way to pump up your mattress ,, else the ground can leave ya pretty sore in the morning. You can find the location on line for directions. Just please,, save me a spot... Not sending any pic's because A a picture would not do it justice,, and you need to see it for yourself. Check it out,, happy trails.

Good host and a pretty good camping spot. Fly fishing was tight just not a ton of privacy from other sites.

Always being our fav place. The hosts were awesome year by year since 2016.

Good facilities, even better location! (did have noisy neighbors.. played their music through their car until late at night. Would recommend camp hosts be a little more involved)

Love this place, nice little campground, close to good fishing spots, price is getting a little high to camp, 20 bucks a night, and no restroom, kinda steep.
