Absolutely amazing, gorgeous, scenic, beautiful... stunning!

Wonderful park near Horsetooth Reservoir. Tons of trails for hiking, horses, and biking. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, views, and restrooms.

If you are looking for something easy and fun, check out the waterfall trail, only a 1/10 of a mile from the nearest parking lot. Great for small children!

I cannot wait to get back out there!

Enjoy!

It’s a pretty decent Park. There are many coves with access to the lake and tons of trails to hike or bike. They also have trails open for horseback riding and a drive-up visitor centre and day-pass booth. Swimming is prohibited on the Lory State Park side of the lake, but boating and fishing is permitted! I just wish it had a later curfew!

Beautiful place with varying topography of (smallish) climbs with wide open fields of golden grass adjacent to red rock areas filled with a wide variety of plant material including succulents. There are over 20 miles to hike or bike with prominent vistas to all sides for many great photo opportunities. The few picnic areas are located amongst all of these spots and are well managed. There are Mountain View’s to the north and a short climb up Arthur’s Rock will give you stunning views of the sweeping grasslands and the massive Horsetooth Reservoir. You can kill an entire day easily here and see something different each hour. A can’t miss park for me when visiting Colorado.

Great moderate hike with spectacular views. Great place to see wildlife and not too many people. The trail is well maintained and well marked. The parking is plentiful. There is a restroom at the trail head. The ascent is moderate but the excellent maintenance of the trail makes it easier. The view at the top makes this hike well worth it! Bring all your friends along to the top makes this hike purely enjoyable!

Lory State Park in Northern Colorado is a great place to take someone new to Colorado for lots of accessible hikes and different types of trails.

There are a few coves to hike to and there is also the venerable Arthurs Rock Trail.

If you are looking for a good spot to take photos, Lory State park has rocky hillsides, valley meadows, water features and tons of plant and wildlife.

Good for all seasons, Lory State Park is great for getting away from the town without having to travel to far.

We wanted to have a picnic and do a super short hike and the Waterfall Trail (.1 mile!!) was perfect. Beautiful too! The waterfall isn't really a waterfall at this time of year but it was a trickle 😊. The colors were beautiful!

Pretty sweet place to relax..
The best beaches on Horsetooth, some sick trails to bike & hike, plus a little bike park and a beautiful place to connect with nature and water at the Reservoir.
If you haven't been there yet, and you live here, you are missing out on one of the best features of Fort Collins.

We got married at Solider Canyon and it was so gorgeous! It rained a lot this summer so we moved under the pavilion just in case and it worked perfect. The rangers were very accommodating and answered all our questions. We had plenty of parking for our 100 guests in the parking lot. We also had some wildlife friends join us at the ceremony.

Beautiful natural area to hike and do mountain biking. Just behind the horsetooth reservoir, about 20 minutes from Fort Collins. It has a bike park with trails for all ages and skills. Great for kids !

Came here to do the Arthur Rock Trail. Really great area to get out. I saw lots of different activites; biking, running, walking, hiking, boating, picnicing, lots to do which is great. The trail we did was beautiful. Lots of wildflowers, the birds and crickets were lovely on the way up and down, and it wasn't too difficult of a trail. Once you get close to the top, there are some rocks you have to climb up, but not too hard as long as you watch your step and take it slow and steady. Once at the top, you get a great view of the lake and the surrounding area. Would love to come back and do it again sometime.

So many options here, tucked away right behind Horsetooth Reservoir. Lots of hiking trails like Arthur's Rock and also some little towns nearby.

You also have Horsetooth right there if you want a water view and plenty of lookout points as well.

Nice little park with lots of trail options in a 15 minute radius.

What a fantastic and amazing space, right here in our own backyard! It’s pretty amazing to hike to a spot like Arthur’s Rock, feeling like you are days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet still be able to pick out your one home in the overlooking views. Don’t miss the opportunity to see Horsetooth Reservoir at one of its highest fill levels in decades!!

Lived here for 30 years and done all the horsetooth trails but never anything in Lory. So me and wifey ran the black squirrel it was cool and Misty and wonderful . Good times. The run offered majestic views West of the Rockies we could see none of that but it was great

The park is gorgeous and has tons of open space and trails for day adventures. It's $9 to enter for a day or $80 for a year. We did Authurs Rock and had a blast. The trail was well maintained and made it easy.

This was one of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to before. It has a $10 fee which is lower than some state parks in the area. One other was $30.

Very sweet place to get lost in. I had time for a quick hike and was very glad I did. The views were incredible. The staff at the entrance was very helpful. I want to come back and hit the more advanced trails. Definitely worth the trip!!
