Sylvan Bird Park had magnificent looking birds! It was much improved, rearranging a few enclosures since I was there two years ago. The birds were meticulously clean and healthy.

Came here and went to feed the parakeets and flamingos first. Feeding them up close was a really cool experience and I highly recommend buying the bird food. After that we explored the bird park and took lots of photos of the unique variety of birds found here. They even have some really rare species of birds like the whooping crane. Once we were done exploring we went into a room where one of the workers was holding a Ross's turaco and it was really friendly and flew on top of people's heads. Overall if you like birds this place is a must visit!

This place was fantastic. There are hundreds of birds and the best part is the interactive areas where you can feed the birds or even just have the birds walking around freely with you. It's so nice to just be near the animals without a cage separating us. I do have to admit there were some birds I felt sorry for because they were in their cages, but they were clearly well cared for and it was for their own protection. The employees are all friendly and are constantly keeping the place clean, including the bathrooms. The entry price is very affordable. I highly recommend coming here and taking your time going through every display area. I loved it and would happily go again.

Definitely a great place for a day trip. We drove a little over three hours and it was totally worth it. The best part was being able to go into the enclosed building to feed the parakeets and hand feed the flamingos. The parakeets land on your head and shoulders it is so cool.

They have tons of different species and several areas that you can enter and be up close and personal with different birds. If you know anyone who loves birds this is a must see!

I love this park, 2nd time there. There's lounge areas for family outings, playground for the kids, nice bathrooms, many walk-in enclosures to see the birds, can feed them. In one of the enclosures (Parakeets) you may find that the birds are a little more interactive with you. Fear not, their occasional small bites are nothing to cry home about. Friendly staff. There's also a nice boardwalk style wilderness path behind the bird enclosures. This place is great for folks of all ages and lots of room to walk around and breath. I'll be back again time after time.

All I can say is, wow. It was a great experience. Was not expecting to get so close to so many fascinating birds. You have to feed the buggies and flamingos. You will be mobbed in a good way by the parakeets. It was so much fun.

Great bird park, we had a lot of fun getting mauled by tiny parakeets. It was amazing to see some off these birds up close that seemed so happy and healthy. The were equally curious about us as we were of them.

Loved everything about this park. 😍 Feeding the flamingos, ducks, and parakeets in "The Landing Zone". Was our family's favorite experience. All the exhibits were well maintained and the animal encounter was very personable. It's a detour off of I 95 that is totally worth the time and money.

Very pretty and well kept bird sanctuary. All the animals were right up close to the fences, and some would walk right up to within petting range. Not very busy either, on a Friday afternoon. They also had many rare species of birds, with the whooping crane being one of the most interesting.

I didn't know what to expect when my daughter had a field trip to the "bird park". But wow! I was so impressed with this park! They have many fantastic bird habitats and even an entire facility where you can feed birds, which was so cool! There are so many pretty and interesting species to watch for hours. We are planning a trip to bring back the rest of the family!

We travel all over for my husband's job. We do A LOT of animal related things. But this place, it think, is one of my favorite places we've been to. There are ducks and bird here I didn't even know existed. There are so many interaction opportunities! The bird on my head is named Congo. The people in the gift shop said he's their most friendly bird. I recommend saying hello to him. I would come back here all the time if I could. 100/10 would recommend

This place was awesome! The tickets are sooo cheap. I would recommend giving yourself a few hours to walk around and see everything. Bring your own food or get something at the little Cafe( although it's very limited in the options and expensive)
We went on the week3nd and had no trouble at all finding parking.
The birds are beautiful and the grounds are very clean and well managed. Great place for kids and adults alike. You can literally be in the bird enclosures, so that was really neat.
The animals look very healthy and many of them seem very friendly like they really don't mind a bunch of people walking around. It's was really a fun place.

What a wonderful place to explore!! My 4yo was thrilled to feed the flamingos and parakeets. You learn so much and it's a great experience to get up close. I like how they have a playground too so my daughter was able to take alittle play break.

Great experience! Many don’t seem to know about the park so feels a bit more like a hidden NC secret but folks should definitely go. We went with the guided tour for my partners birthday and Kat was fantastic. They were very accommodating with our group and making sure we had a great experience even when we got hit with an unpredicted down pour. The park is great and such a unique experience. Fun getting up close with birds and having them walk around you while you explore the park. Having one land on my head was a blast. Their landing zone is a fun and affordable experience.

Definitely great to check out! Would for sure go back.

Such a cool place to visit! I've heard about Sylvan Heights for years, but never made it. We finally went yesterday and we're not disappointed! So many exotic birds as well as plants. Nice gift shop as well.

Sylvan Heights is a delightful bird "zoo" with over 2,000 birds from all over the world. The park was clean and the staff was friendly. Would recommend 2-3 hours to see everything. Call and ask when the best time to visit might be on a specific day as they do have lots of school field trips at this time of year.

My mom and I have been wanting to go here for years and we finally made it. What a truly amazing place!!! The facility was so clean and well run and all of the animals were clearly well cared for. We did a group tour and our guide Cat was amazing! She's been there for 12 years and was a wealth of knowledge with a great personality and sense of humor which was a pleasure as we always like having a good time. My husband joined us and while he likes birds, he's not a lover of them like my mother and I and he had the best time as well. This place is a true gem and I can't wait to go back!

So we stopped by this little GEM of a place on our way up the coastline. It is an amazing place! The amount of birds in this one location... all the different species and colors of the birds, ducks, flamingos, eagles, emu, peacock, turtles even a few fish, were just so amazing, beautiful!!! I have been to many zoos but never a bird park, can not wait to go back! Bring a lunch and enjoy every square inch of the place! Awesome that you could walk into the birds homes through a gate system to be in side with them! The staff there on Friday April 28th we're amazing, so kind... With great information about the park (she made sure to offer us food for the birds, so fun) an area! Spend a few hours if your in the area, the prices are VERY REASONABLE....and so worth every dime! It was just my husband and I and we actual stayed the night through harvest host. It was our first time trying this, that too was amazing!! The sound of the birds and especially the whippoor-will bird brought back so many memories of when I was a kid with my grandparents on the Potomac River, back when you used to sleep in a screen porch or with your house windows open. Lol I'm just 58... Not that long ago.. Highly recommend Sylvan Heights Bird Park for ALL ages!! Closed on Mondays
